well now it looks like this but back then it was the opposite the chinese movie was popular while XD Scarlet heart got such bad reviews and rating for some damn reason I dont even know why maybe bc pll liked the original so much that the new seemed too unnatural...Not to mention Baekhyun got huge flock for his "bad" acting pll said he was bad at acting and just playing himself which is partly true you cant judge his acting based on a role for which his personality is the reason why he got it so that was a little unfair 0_0 In a sence for Baek it was a bad choice to play a character similar to him as a first role. I hope one day he can give accting a chance again but it seems like he prefers only signing for now...Some dramas are really underrated and this drama was severely despite how sucessful the OSTs were at the time like CBX and Taeyeon
@@dddd-ge5sl really? i didn't know about that :o i knew the movie was big (as apparently fans showed up dressed in wedding dresses lol) but the drama baekhyun was in wasn't? huh...maybe that explains why i never saw much hype for it as a fan? even when i joined during obsession era not many talked about the drama he was in despite fans saying he's good in acting so i was always confused by it. i cannot say he doesn't know how to act, he has some potential (as we have seen in the super m mini dramas lol) and i think he said he would like to try it in the future so we can only wait and see. it also comes down to how someone really wants to take acting seriously i.e. kyungsoo seems to be a good example of this. maybe for baekhyun he doens't want to do roles that isn't within his comfort zone? we don't know this but this is interesting to hear! i do agree there are plenty of drama's that do get lost under the radar for many reasons we don't know. there's alot that come out so they will get lost in the sea of many different drama's

A good script would never do something like that no matter the acting skills, trust me. The script was from the FL point of view and it was super self-centered and forgot about the ML and side characters A LOT.

but.. actually i prefer chinese version for remake the important part of the novel. but as long as i watch as the fan of SIMAF novel (well if u read the novel there are so many points that i like on the novel and that whats make me keep excited to watch kr ver) i pretty upset in the middle cuz hoojoon isnt someone who just admit the fact that he loves a woman that "declares" hatred on him. at first he really needs someone to talk and geunyeong naturally is someone who usually listen to anyone so they clicked on that part. idk abt the web ver OR which ver production team took as a reference but for me, the novel version is lot more better and i like the way chinese version took a few of them to screen.
p.s. at 2015 is only ONE version of SIMAF (as far as i kno the webtoon ver was released later after)

I love how the korean adaptation portrayed the female lead. She actually have a personality (a pleasant one) and a story to tell. Her character is not portrayed as a damsel in distress or a very independent and confident woman. She's very normal in the extent that I feel like all women will relate to her in a way. So I really recommend it! If you're looking for a feel good and sweet drama, give it a try!
She was definitely a bit sloppy/ghetto in the beginning. I mean there were times I really didn't like her because she was so openly rude.

The only part that I like is how chanyeol being taller than everyone and everyone was at his waist.
the actress playing the female lead is also somewhat problematic, she was flirting with an actor who already had a girlfriend. and there was this one time on a tv show she picked up an ancient relic with 3 fingers, and literally everyone was like “dude be careful”, but she just went like “no it’s okay they can repair it if it breaks”

@@hay_ziers3008 I think the reason it came out cringey was because of the badly written plot and overly-exaggerated acting from the other actors i.e the female lead. I won't say Chanyeol did the best acting as it was his first time acting professionally, but he carried the movie. And about Houzhun's character - I still stand by it that it was actually a dream character IF only the movie provided him that exposure. He wasn't your average stone cold bad boy nor did his personality change every 8 mins like the female character. The cringe came from the scenes Chanyeol was acting, not his acting. The only thing Chanyeol really did bad with this movie was to pick it lol
The movie overall was barely a 3.5 or 4/10 and that too is solely because of Chanyeol's and Seohyun's characters. And if you really want to see improvement in Chanyeol's acting, I recommend you to check out 'The Box' which was released earlier this year. xoxo.

Tbh even the novel wasn’t that good… in the novel, the ex girlfriend literally had no other personality but being depressed, and then there’s the female lead who has no personality but getting angry, and joon himself who is part of the “oooh im so tired of being famous” trope. There’s also this ex best friend whose only personality is being toxic. Nobody is likable in that story. 😭

chanyeol was only 23 years old when this was recorded. This was probably in 2016 when wattpad was at its peak. And the plot screams CRINGE. 2016 WAS CRINGE!! despite all that he did well, they both did what the director asked. I personally believe that the film should not be judged by a 10 minute video. If you like Chanyeol you will definitely like the movie. ♡
