    been taking magnesium glyceinate primarily when I feel anxious for the last several months, and it has worked incredibly well. The racing thoughts, gone. The overthinking, gone. Of course, this has been combined with trying to improve my gut health, getting regular vitamin d exposure, and exercising.

    • @jackoverton8343
      @jackoverton8343 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      99% multivitamins are full of cheap synthetic and precursor vitamins and are not helpful.
      Better to take 1-4 separate vitamins you need in its optimal formm
      One example is folic acid is in multivitamins its a synthetic precursor to methylfolate. A large percentage of women can't even convert it and it even overwhelms them preventing methlyfolate absorption from diet.
      Or they use the worst form of a vitamin such as magnesium oxide because its cheaper, but has as little as 4% absorption in some studies.
      Goes on and on. Eat a good diet and just supplement what you need after.

      6 months taking a multi-mag with calcium and Vit-D brought it back above normal.

    • @jackoverton8343
      @jackoverton8343 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ScottDCS mag serum tests are not accurate. Your body will always pull mag from bones to normalize levels. Perhaps the mutli helped or perhaps it didn't and her bones are more deficient.
      As for calcium supplements study after study has shown harm with increases risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. Likely because no one takes vitamin K with it to direct the calcium to bones and instead it builds up in soft tissues such as blood vessels. I'd personally never risk taking one anyways. Vitamin D alone will increase calcium absorption from diet.

    I've been looking for research on re-direction of magnesium and other nutrients during sleep. It makes sense that the body will shift nutrients to more deserving areas of the body when we are at rest. Lo and behold, cramps from magnesium deficiency occur predominantly at night, when such a re-aasignment would be happening. Anecdotally I've noticed that distribution of magnesium supplementation seems to have rapid effects on muscle tonality and hydration (accompanied with water), whereas depletion tends to happen during sleep. Muscles are significantly less important to the body than major organs where magnesium would be going.
    I haven't been able to find anything of use regarding movement of nutrients in the body during sleep. Are there any respected studies about this?
