WOW. This sure brings back old memories. My drivers training car in high school was a 1969 SS 396 4 door blue with a dark blue vinyl top. I lived in a rural area where everyone in the area grew-up on farms. Our teacher asked me and other student if we had driven before. We both said yes. We were the first ones to drive the car. We got to drive 20 miles to another town and back on snow covered roads. It was pretty healthy in the power it delivered.

There was no 4dr SS, nor 396 in an SS for ‘69.🤷🏼‍♂️

This is one of very few Sixties Chevies with the SS badges that are really SS cars. I love fullsize cars, specially GM ones.
My slow 63 Belair is in family possession since 1967. In 1981 my Dad handed it over to me. And my daughter started driving the car as well. My Ma suffered from heavy dementia. But before she was not able to enter and sit in a car anymore she LOVED being driven around in my classic fullsize cars through the beautiful Swiss countryside. She could hardly wait for a chance to join us.
Now both my parents have died and I keep, maintain and drive three of our former family vehicles. And I added more classics to my collection. But nothing beats the vehicle we used to travel to Italy on our summer vacation when I was seven years old.
The Belair was one of three classic fullsize cars on my wedding day: A 64 Impala convertible, my 65 Bonneville convertible and our good old 63 Belair 4d sedan.

I have the 67 Caprice my parents bought in 1968 and sold in 1981. I tracked it down eleven years later and have had it ever since. Its nearly done a six figure restoration at JF Kustoms in Osoyoos BC. Wish Dad was still around to see it but Mom is gonna get to take it for a cruise next spring.

It so cool you got to take one more ride with your dad, I’d give anything for one more ride with my dad.
I overhaul my engine with my dad and put a racing cam, and chrome ring. My dad drove it down the highway, with the hood off, and my father’s was flying down the road. The gas pedal got stuck on the floor wow were flying. My dad turned the key off to shut it down. I’ve owned BMWs, Ford Mustangs and trucks, nothing is burned into
      My mid like that car.
I own the Amt model of the 1969 impala- and the 1970 impala fire chief

We get it too! My Dad gave me my love for old cars and all things historic! I'm still trying to find and retrieve his 1934 Ford Pickup he hotrodded while in college back in the 50's. He passed in 2007 and there isn't a car show we attend where I don't see something and say "Dad would have loved this". I'll make sure Dennis sees your message. Thanks again!

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk Hi, just got home late last night. Well my kids want me not to sell, Craig had a buyer but said what I was asking a bit high, I'm trying to net enough for the house and the taxes. It's the taxes that throw things off. A new investment "like for like" would means taxes aren't due, what that means, can't go from a house investment to a car or car to a house or even a commercial building to apartments (UGH) only like for like. But I am getting my taxes done for last year next week so I can talk to our tax person then. Life was so simple when I lived at home..... LOL LOL

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk Nothing like taxes, two years back I was hit with a 97K tax bill for taking $$$$ out of my retirement account to help fix the house that caught fire. I now know, don't take $$$$ out in large chunks as the taxes go up exponentially.......... Don't want to make a "taxing" error again. lol

Great car my high-school girlfriend got one from her brother when he went to Vietnam I love that car then I love that car now. Had a chance to buy a 69 four-door convertible for $75 back in the day. But rent was due. And it had dog poo up to the top of the seat an old lady used it for a dog house it was believed to be her husband's car I was walking at the time and my brother went to Memphis took the rent money I would have had it if he had now went to Memphis

I just found out I was mistaken. The car came with a close ratio Transmission, I always thought that meant it had a M22. After looking at the window sticker it did say it came with a M21.

    • @cheaptricked
      @cheaptricked ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dennisalbani2094M21 is close ratio, but M22 is the “rock crusher.”
A bit confused on why there are two different gear ratios listed?
What brand is that aftermarket A/C? I have a ‘69 Caprice with console/buckets that is a factory no A/C car and that intrigues me. Does it keep car cool?
