- The time has finally arrived, Sonic Mania is now available for all consoles and soon to be available for PC as well. As such, expect a lot of Sonic Mania videos in the near future. Having played through the game in full multiple times already, I would recommend this game to legit anyone. This video showcases the collection of all chaos emeralds in the game through the special stages Sonic Mania has to offer. Enjoy! ^_^

It took me less attempts than other ones
1,2,3 and 7 are very easy overall, 4,5 and 6 are the hardest ones.

The fifth stage was the trickiest for me, and I had to resort to using the ufo glitch to get that emerald. But seeing your run gives me ideas for what I need to do to clear the stage legit.

If there's another Sonic game with Special Stages, this should be the order:
Special Stage 1: Purple
Special Stage 2: Grey
Special Stage 3: Light blue
Special Stage 4: Golden
Special Stage 5: Dark blue
Special Stage 6: Red
Special Stage 7: Green
My one minor disappointment with these is the lack of the Chaos Emerald jingle.

Emerald 6 is definitely the hardest special stage... took me eight tries to beat it.

I desperately need a bonus stage vid, I can't do blue sphere for the life of me. Anyone else think blue sphere seems harder here than it was in S3&K? Maybe I just need to readjust to them

It's because of the new layouts, what made Blue Sphere easy is that since there were only 14 stages, you could memorize them more easily. Now with 32, some based on ones that were in 3 and Knuckles (and others with some minor changes), a randomized order, and the new incentive of getting Perfect in each one, they're more difficult.
Its crazy how easy Special Stage 7 is, especially since 5 and 6 are so hard... Feels good when you finally do them though. I actually outran the emerald on stage 1 my second time xD.

i highly doubt you got hyper sonic on Mushroom hill zone, i dont think there are 7 special stage rings on both act 1 and 2 lol
These stages aren’t too bad once you get the hang of them on normal mode and I actually find myself replaying them for the sake of pleasure. I kind of wish there was a way to access them by themselves from the menu kind of like how you can play blue sphere stages for the fun of it.
Conversely, the special stages in Encore mode were quite the tough cookies; none of the UFOs can be caught below Mach 3 speed and many stages are easy to lose control and fall right as you’re about to catch the emerald. Very frustrating.

Yes, I found it easy too. The fourth one took me only a single attempt on my first playthrough. It's quite surprising how they say Special Stage 4 is "the hardest."
True-- once you get the strategy down, they're very much cakewalks (those Encore ones, I've never touched hide or hair of, and probably never will).
Since the stage loops, what if you collected enough rings and then stayed in one place until the ufo comes back? 🤔

I love the special stages in this game,because they are fun and chalenging but the 4th one and the 6th one are a bit to hard

Kemo_Meme Mach 4 isn't possible, if I remember correctly once you fill up the Mach meter on Mach 3 all you get is a ring bonus.

Ninja Gaming 101! My gripes
1.Half the zones and bosses are rehashed,only far easier than before.And for the unique ones,their designs look bad (the spider boss especially),and color balance is very bright it's garish
2.It's extending the notion that Classic and modern are the only 2 eras of Sonic,which isn't true.Sonic changed starting in 94,again in 96,then Adventure in 98.There are many more eras and styles,but it's too cast to list
3.Continuing from #2,Since Sonic changed starting in 94,he should be using the Neo Sonic era,or beyond design.Instead he's delegated to an ugly shade of blue for his modified Sonic 1-CD design,and pink for Knuckles (even more than Knuckles Chaotix)
4.The animations suffer from using the extremely flat and bright Tysson Megadrive comic design.Not to mention the final 2 animations are extremely lazy (no animated movement)
5.Going on with using misconceptions,Sonic is characterized as kiddy with smugness (though Generations did this first,it's annoying that this didn't fix that),which makes him cuter than he originally was.Knuckles is useless as well
6.Boss music is really....not menacing.It isn't until the final boss it's something good.Otherwise it sounds like stage music,or some random encounter with a character
7.Enemies also suffer from Megadrive comic style.Silver Sonic is cute and round instead of sharp,many enemies blatantly rip off older ones.For the unique ones (Woodpecker,Fan) they look really bad
8.The whole game is very easy,despite it being long.Old stage mechanics are replaced with easy ones from CD (like water in Chemical plant replaced with harmless gelatin or 5 ft pools).Difficulty curve is really low
9.Splitsceen is awful.What were they thinking!?Sonic 2 only did that due to hardware limitations
10.The memes referenced needs to stop
11.We already had a Mania that didn't break canon.It's called Pocket Adventure
12.And finally,canon is completely thrown out of the window.I already talked about design that's supposed to be used,the correct attitudes,but for story there's many issues
A.How did Robotnik discover that gem?
B.How did he sneak in the island?
C.Why would one of his robots betray him?
D.Why was Knuckles pathetic in the game?
E.Why would he bother rehashing traps of it wasn't that long ago Sonic beat him?
Besides those points,canonically Knuckles Chaotix took place after Sonic 3K,yet they interject suddenly saying Mania takes place immediately after Sonic 3K.This is a large plot hole,and what's worse,Mania is tied in with Forces,with the notion that the 90s were a different dimension.It's complete baloney to just drop the lore of a franchise just for casuals who don't care about the story or characters.It's not new or revolutionary,it's neglecting the real fans,and ignoring the original purpose of Sonic
Why listen to casuals who never want to change,or care what Sonic's uniqueness from other game icon is?They already toxified the fans and caused a slew of mean internet memes,made people fight,say Sonic fans are the worst.IGN has proven many times they're a garbage reviewer that only likes COD and Mario,and are terrible players.The hilarious thing,Sonic 06 wasn't even bad,just broken,and it was a popular family game with an Xbox 360 Platinum seal

Onaterdem I loved Sonic 1-CD,and 3K.In fact,there a few Sonic I don't like till 2010.
That being said,I am analytical about genres of games,so puzzle/Psuedo 3D games (Sonic Labyrinth and 3D Blast) don't bother me since in it's genre it was nice and stable
The main problem is the concept of nostalgia rehashing just to appease only casuals,basically people who don't care about Sonic's lore or characters (except Knuckles because of stupid memes)
