Elle is a total icon. I love how she subverts stereotypes about blondes being mean, stupid or promiscuous, by being friendly to everyone she meets, being intelligent enough to get admitted to Harvard on her first try, and with Warner having been her first serious boyfriend.
Luna Lovegood, Wednesday Addams, Hermione Granger, Matilda Wormwood, Lisa Simpson and Elle Woods were my role models growing up. They taught me to embrace my weirdness and intelligence, and to have faith in myself and my abilities.
Elle Woods is a girl’s girl. Even when Vivian was mean to her, when she was speaking about her to Paulette, she didn’t talk shit about her. The meanest thing she ever said about Viv was to her face. And she took exactly 0.4 seconds to realize that Vivian was threatened by her and she immediately befriended her when Viv finally let down her walls.
I like that she is still kind, sweet and feminine. In media these qualities as a women is seen as a negative trope. It is often used as a way to to make the other girl stand out the girl that not like other girls.
Elle woods was the first icon I had in my life honestly it truly made me Believe that I don't need to stop loving fashion and traditionally girly to truly excel academically
Elle is such a good role model. She's confident and positive and works so hard to stay that way even in the face of constant negativity. She cares about people and stands her ground no matter what ❤
It's incredibly hard to stay kind and confident when people are pushing you to be insecure and mean. To fight the self protecting instinct for the sake of greater good is very brave. This is why Elle Woods is my biggest inspiration
From the beginning, Elle had already debunked the "dumb blonde" stereotypes. For example, in the dress shop, she knew that the sparkly dress she desired didn't "just come in." She'd seen it in a catalog, the previous year. And she had an inner strength that many of today's movie heroines seem to lack. It seems that all too often, modern-day heroines are built for physical strength, not emotional strength. They're also not allowed to be vulnerable, as she was. Elle had something to prove, that she was just as intelligent and as capable as all of the other Harvard law students. Warner was no longer her goal. Instead, she was committed to defending the defenseless, whether it meant helping Paulette get her dog back from an ex, or freeing Brooke from jail. These days, it seems like heroines are either pegged as intelligent, or physically strong, and being physically beautiful isn't a factor. But Elle encompasses everything that a heroine should be: Not just beautiful, or physically fit, and not just brilliant, but a combination of these factors, plus she's warm and kind. These qualities not only helped her succeed in law school, but also in her personal life, whether it was becoming friends with Vivienne, or winning Emmett's heart. "Vote for Elle!" "Whoever said that orange is the new pink was seriously disturbed!"
The phrases and attitudes I relate the most with are “I’ll show you how valuable Elle Woods can be” and “Me!” (When she got selected to join the junior law students group to help with Brooke’s case). The first one I use it when things get hard and I have to put in double effort to get what I want and the second is to celebrate that I finally got it. 💪🏽💅🏽
I have seen this movie so many times that I could probably recite it back to you. This was such a great analysis, that I didn’t know I needed while making dinner. Cheers to all the girlie who always liked pink. 💘💘
Elle woods got me through law school in China 🇨🇳 I would watch this movie every time I was stressed or upset about school (which was quite often). Also, I had a really shitty boyfriend that was like Warner and although I still haven’t met my Emmett, I'm confident it'll happen soon.
As a Swiftie, I can’t help but now think of I Can Do it with a Broken Heart fitting so well with Elle!! She is such an amazing role model even today still! I absolutely adored her growing up! Loved this ! 🫶
I’ve watched this movie a million times. Esp as a Cali girl myself moving to the Midwest , I resonate to an extent of her being unliked for no reason. just for being naturally optimistic and proving everyone wrong gracefully. Love her
We can also like about that Elle only saw being a socialite housewife for herself so when that was a possibility anymore with the person she thought she loved. But when she was humiliated at the party dressed as a more innocent playboy bunny, being that a bunny is a prey animal she even though in a intention to show warner that she can be more her indeed fake it till you make it did make her see that she could have more for her ownself. But I do genuinely admire her she's the one that all her friends and sorority sisters goes to cause her genuine kindness is what make them see that they can have more for themselves as well. Like I love how during the he movie she just sheds her naivety but still retains her self
@@trinaqA lot of people are suggesting Reese’s daughter Ava to play young Elle Woods and Ava looks a lot like her mom. Just a couple of days ago, a Martin and Everybody Hates Chris reboot series was announced to be in the works and it’s like, why can't anything be left alone? The Everybody Hates Chris reboot series is the only reboot series I’m excited about but very skeptical of.
I am very excited for the prequel series and Legally Blonde 3 if it ever comes out. I feel like a lot of Millennial Women (myself included) see ourselves in Elle Woods. I’d also like to point out that while Warner only saw her as a piece of meat, Emmett was one of the only men (aside from her classmate David Kidney) who saw her for who she actually is. I also love that Emmett is basically the polar opposite of Warner
Thanks for watching! Up next, check out our video on how Clueless' Cher Horowitz was actually totally right about a lot: th-cam.com/video/TlPnRT8qcSc/w-d-xo.html Or our video unpacking the struggle of being the new friend in an existing group: th-cam.com/video/rAie9OQAfzk/w-d-xo.html
Elle Woods and Cher Horowitz in a film or show together, could you imagine! 🤔😶🌫️ Those two could change the world together, and also have incredible fashion well doing so. What a great blonde duo! 🫶🏼🌹🩷🤍💛
I appreciate this movie more more now that I’m older. I just loved it! I mean it had so many good messages and of course it was hilarious and fun to watch! ❤
Fantastic video! I'd like to see you promote your Patreon earlier and slightly more detailed. I feel like a bunch of people won't even know that you have a Patreon if it's just a few seconds at the very end and you guys deserve more Patrons
She is rich, intelligent, beautiful, healthy, and young and doesn't face any real challenges because she is a fictional character in a world that is specially tailored to fit all of her needs
Just because a person’s challenges are not your challenges does not mean that they are invalid. Yes, she is a fictional character but a lot of women can relate to being put down and judged because of their appearance and age.
Was it Important for you to find a video about something you obviously didn't like and make sure to comment negatively about it? You have nothing better to do than complain about a fictional character in a fictional story? Kind of sad you don't have anything else going on.....
She does face some challenges. She experiences being judged for her intelligence and looked down upon for her femininity. That's why a lot of people related to her.

Everyone has real challenges. You can't control everything, but you can control many things in your life. You can be rich. You can be healthy. You can be more attractive. You can become more intelligent.
Why is this channel only referencing 4 movies/series of the early 2000 ? Sex in the City, Clueless, Mean girls and Legally Blonde ? Can’t you talk about anything else ? And please it better not be 500 days of Summer 💀
Yeag yeag… you can talk more about female characters like enola holmes, her mother, there are so many films now. i have seen too much of this elle woods content everyone knows about it
Whenever I have a bad day, depression, or lack of confidence. I just watch Legally Blonde or even youtube clips to cheer me up. Elle Woods is like a cheerleader for every women. 🫶🏼🌹❤️🔥

Agreed
what the hell is wrong with her using her own body how she wants to???????
Luna Lovegood, Wednesday Addams, Hermione Granger, Matilda Wormwood, Lisa Simpson and Elle Woods were my role models growing up. They taught me to embrace my weirdness and intelligence, and to have faith in myself and my abilities.
YESS ME TOO I loved all of them growing up taught me to love weirdness and differences and fuck everyone else who didn’t appreciate it

This movie was truly ahead of its time.
No we’ve just gone backwards since then
I loved that Vivian and Elle became good friends in the end. It was such a moment to root for ❤
I didn't. Vivian was a b***** for the whole time.
They should bring Vivian back for the 2nd sequel.

So what you're saying is that it's time to rewatch Legally Blond, right?
This will forever be one of my fave movies and i have 0 shame in that. It's a great movie.
Why would you be ashamed of watching a movie about a woman who went to Harvard and became a successful and respected lawyer?

I feel like this video was made because they just announced that a Legally Blonde prequel series is in the works by Amazon.
Yep, that's usually why they decide to put out video essays, whenever a related project is announced.

I love elle woods she truly an inspiring character for women and girls 💖💖💖
I hope you guys talk about The Bold Type soon.
The most iconic 2000’s heroine Elle Woods inspired me to become a criminal lawyer while still embracing my femininity
I love Elle 💕💕 she’s always been my idol
The first time I watched it, I thought it was a romantic comedy, but actually it's a tongue-in-cheek legal comedy.
This is my favorite video ever from this channel.
She’s always fabulous ❤
