I'm starting to wonder if the devs look at the big brain move of invading yourself to ease your control cap and maybe just find a way to expedite that so it seems less like a mechanical exploit. But then again it's such a great example of how to play Terra Invicta as The Illuminati.
All those different faction ARE basicly the illuminati. Secret organisations that control economy, military, media and government and influnce the politics of a country into following their agendas. And yes, invading a country which is basicly under your control, is part of a variety of tools you can use purposefully.
It occurs to me that Russia should start with a small amount of Boost because of the war in Ukraine. They are, after all, trialing a new Tank Turret based orbital lifter.
Also it would be cool if you could take "SpaceX - Falcon 9 Program" and later "SpaceX - Starship Program" as Orgs that give massive Boost income, given that SpaceX put more mass to orbit than everyone else.

It's true that the AI seems so much better in this version of the game, in the previous version they felt like a non entity you could disregard their existence for the most part. Here they took control of good nations with nukes and are something with these countries instead of waiting and filled the moon with space stations relatively quickly
Thematically, you could add in Scandinavia for the 'true north, strong and free' alliance. The high command being inside a nuclear submarine secure under the north pole.

This series is great! It feels like you’re playing more “terrestrial” this time , compared to how far along you were in last time, as opposed to the demo. Is that more a change of strategy or having the artificial cutoff date removed?
He was pretty upfront towards the end of the last series about the unsustainably of his strategies to get a fleet mounted and piss off the aliens. I think not being able to insta-form the EU also just means that things don't move *as* quickly, though with US/Soviets knocked down he's definitely power-gaming it.
Possibly a bit late since the next episode is already out, but the downside of limited nuclear war with India is that Exodus has a point there, and you pointed directly at the military they specifically control several times.

I know that this is late, but I'd recommend colonising Utopia and Isidis, since Isidis has more fissile material than the remaining locations combined.
Seeing you actively hindering your enemies is interesting. I haven't gone past the early game in any of my first couple of saves yet, but I only follow my own plan and try not to interfere with the AI too much.

What I find the most intriguing about this game is that it is training you in concepts involving a ten thousand foot view of geopolitics; it’s way closer to real life than you’d expect. Substitute “muh aliens” for actual foreign interests in the real world and you kids might start understanding why democracy is such a central feature to this campaign.

Something I want to ask is how viable is it to go for multiple smaller countries rather than going for a more big ticket nation? Like going for South America or for the Middle East?
Big countries are great for research since they are more efficient per control point to hold. For boost and mission control smaller countries are the best since they have more investment points but they are also easier to coup. Usually poor and low education/democracy countries are terrible and very easy to coup. The middle east is good for oil and South America is pointless. I would even say that South America is just a self imposed challenge.

Do not disturb mode in Discord would also work to stop the ping sounds (maybe that's different from Streamer mode, idk)

"Sanity" in this case involves siding with russia to invade various central steppe powers. I suppose it depends on perspective though.

Are Asteroids good? Mars was bountiful and Mercury was great but Asteroids seemed too limited in return.
asteroids can have good nobles and are a great backup or supplement to the big locations but they are limited yeah
As a new player this confuses me so much. I thought having both the US and Mexico would let me declare with and unify them, but nope >.
You can only unify countries if one has a claim on the capital of the other - and the US can only get those claims through research.
