I got my Mate 40 pro last week and am knocked out by its high quality. It pairs seemlessly with my Honor magic book 15 and gives a great experiance. The cameras are the best I've had from a smartphone. The speakers give a rich and powerful stereo sound, good enough to listen to music, well background music. The screen is bright with punchy colours one woild expect fron a bear 2k resolution. I'm managing to get my apps through the Huawei app gallery and from petal search I was going to go Samsung, but I'm pleased I to have fone with thw Mate 40 pro. I'be studied the power button on my device and I think the colour is between scarlet and fusia, it kind of changes from one to the other depending on how light hits it.
Same here. Mate 10 pro had never let me down. There's literally nothing I haven't been able to do on my phone and even after all these years, I don't actually have a reason to upgrade it, other than obviously being kinda bored with it 🙈 But yeah, very loyal Huawei customer here.

Still using mine to this day, over a year now. Best phone I've ever had, who needs GMS? Bought several GMS enabled flagship phones to replace it, including Mi11 Ultra and the Mate is far, far superior. Emui 12 OS is just a dream to use and the camera is still the best when put in the right hands, the level of detail makes the replacement phones look mid-level at beat. Battery still lasts a day and a half, system updates every 1-2 months. Life without GMS isn't as difficult as you might think, like I said, over a year now and still going strong.
I'll definitely keep updating from Mate Pro to Mate Pro! For me, their camera tech just can't be beat! Fit and finish makes the devices feel more premium than most. I have no issues with apps since I've been switching from Huawei to Huawei for years, I have everything I need. Probably the best reason is that I can grab my Mate 7, 8 Pro, 9 Pro or 10 Pro and it'll work just as great as it did the day I bought it. I travel quite a bit for work so another huge bonus is that Huawei bakes in every radio band I've ever needed, or will need. They think of everything so I don't have to!

Thing is, the US government play dirty.. It's not a coincidence that tech is monopolized by U.S companies(and China lately) .. No other country is allowed to compete.. Even if some other company from another country has some sort of innovation, they'll be force to either sell it a US company or operate on guidelines set by the US.. The perception is that Americans are smart and that's why they dominate.. Is a huge deception, they dominate because their government eliminate competition for them ... If the playing field wasn't rigged, US companies can't survive competition.. Simple...
Had the Mate 20 pro for over 2 years and it has been one of, if not the best phone I've ever used. Preferred it to my Samsung galaxy better consistent performance, battery etc. Sad that the extra faff of not having google services puts a big dent in wanting another one. I could get by with out them but its just the idea of missing some core apps like mobile banking.

@@endertheturk7794 i don't use any of Google services such as drive, maps, lens Gmail. .. etc i use alternative safe apps Instead of it، all android phones I've bought, immediately after unboxing it i disable all services and apps, i only use TH-cam, and now i use Vanced which is much better 👋

Instagram , facebook , snapchat.. and you can get google services to work if you find work around / take some time to get them on.. it's android after all.
I have a small ecosystem of Matebook x pro Gt2 freebuds studio and P30 pro. Love how well they work together. Would love to have the Mate 40 pro but my p30 pro is still a beast and really no need to change at the moment. maybe when the price drops or might even go for the Porche design as I'm living in China and the price isn't so wild. Great review. Love me some Huawei hope the rules change for them.
One Thing I have found fascinating is that the photo mode capture in low light inside perfect photos, pitch black, indoor just a king! For outdoor pitch black pleasing to use night mode! And on top of all I have p40 pro! And I LOVE IT, gmaps, chrome, youtube (vanced), works perfectly fine, just sometimes lagging for exporting the link, only google photos I was unabled to install, which I added as Webpage ( actually petal search did it) the screen is fantastic however I found 90hz really draining the battery a lot, I get around 7 hours screen with full changed battery (using the phone intensive) and around 9 hrs with 60hz
That's a big ask from Huawei, for us to go through the trouble of side loading and all the other stuff to get an okay Google experience; they must be offering some significant price adjustments / incentives.

Bought this phone on Friday (25th June 2021), the global variant version NOH-N29, you just need to install the apps you required, the operating system with HMS will work perfectly alright. Those apps you can't find in Petal Search or AppGallery, use your GMS android phone to install, then use Cx File Explorer app to back up the app, copy it or send wireless to Mate 40 Pro, install it ( a bit of workaround, no worries about it ) Apps that required GMS certification, you not able to use it on Mate 40 Pro. The phone is very fast, display very bright, operating system is afterall Android, not difficult to use.......go get this phone :-) Learn to use the phone with no GMS, you will get used to it
TH-cam can be bookmarked onto home screen with browsers that have that option (not Google search). With other secure browsers youtube ads can be turned off.
This Mate 40 Pro is the first smartphone of the brand since the Mate 10 that I find really not beautiful. And they should have positioned the pill in the center as a notch people would have compared it to that of the iphone and found it super small, but positioned at the left corner it is compared to other Android smartphones and looks super huge
I've had one for two months, I just don't get why everyone's saying gms is not available on this device. There are tons of videos on how to sideload gms, I did it as soon as I got the phone and it worked perfectly since.

How is the resolution only “ok” or full hd +? It’s 456? Even iPhone 13 pro doesn’t have more till this day. That resolution is absolute standard for almost every single flag ship phone even in 2021

My biggest gripe is how Huawei has taken away OIS on the vanilla Mate and the Pro, and only included it on the Mate 40 Pro+ and RS.
Got the Huawei Mate 40 Pro since December last year, I love it.
