    Purchased a new 2022 - JD 3025E in Jan 2022. Machine listed for $27,233, with loader and loaded tires. JD rebate brought it to $24,479. I traded in a 2019 1025R with frame mounted 60" snow plow, weight box and 3rd function valve, loader and 50 hours on it. Dealer gave me $17,500 towards the new tractor. Cost me $6979. to move up 3 years to a larger tractor. At the time I felt lucky to get it, there were not many around!! I checked a MF dealer 5 miles from my house and couldn't get the time of day from them!! Courtney keep the interesting content coming!! Thank you!!

    You are dead on about the "waiting for prices to drop" mentality. I think we all do it. Inflation keeps climbing higher than income for most folks. Juggling finances has become an art form. Some people say, "I'll wait until there is a deep recession and snag up all the good deals". There is partial truth in that but it's a financial slippery slope. I personally have taken advantage of the 0% game. It's all marketing and the manufacturer has elevated the product price to compensate for the 0% promotion. It's still a good deal and gets alot of folks off the fence about purchasing. I played the "waiting until prices dropped" game on a major purchase and it end up costing me another 10k! If you need it, get it now. Prices will continue to climb post covid.

After all was said and done I paid $43,000 and some change to have the dealer get everything ready. the bare tractor before I started tacking anything on would have been around $38-39k. I also got a bit of a discount for multiple attachments, yes the loader and mower counted, and I got the cash discount because I paid for it with a check from my credit union. I did my loan that way to keep all my loans together from the same place, and I got better APR than the dealer would have been able to do.

    I bought a MF GC1723 in November 2022. I originally planned to pay cash. I looked at the unit and they gave me a quote. Two weeks later when I went in to buy it I said I wanted the zero percent financing that Agco offered. They honored the same price. So I think I did ok. I wish I had purchased three years ago when I first decided I would want a tractor. As a friend of mine kept telling me "if you are going to buy a tractor, buy it now. You will get more years of value out of it than if you wait." He is correct. Going to buy a quick hitch from you soon. I am tired of installing and removing my box blade!

    In 21, a used tractor was almost the price of a new tractor, so when Kubota had their 0/0/84, I jumped on it and locked in financing at that rate on a new L4060HSTC-LE. Any used tractor would have cost me MORE per month even though the price would have been a few grand less. Of course that is if one could FIND the same tractor! I considered trading/selling my B2410 with backhoe, but decided to keep it. Good deal too since I find I use both tractors, especially when harvesting hay.
    On a side note, the new tractor I have sells for more than I owe on it used. That makes me quite happy. It has the 3rd function, QA remote, and 3 rear remotes. It would sell quickly for more than I paid for it!

    You last comments are accurate about the financing is usually full price plus extras and term costs built in. In the old days - and probably in 2024 you will be able to haggle for cash. Also remember most dealers won't haggle on attachments - however the price of my tractor mysteriously dropped for each attachment I added in the original bundle but each attachment was full price on the invoice. I suspect people by more attachments than tractors and they protect the "price" point although today full price looks cheap after a few months!!!

    In 2019 I had shopped the 2 series tractors and decided on the 2038R. The salesman was great, came out and looked at my JD 970 as a trade-in. And then I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!! I saw him several times at the dealership that summer but I guess he was making enough money selling mowers as he never spoke to me. In Spring of 2020 my local JD dealer listed several tractors on their site at significantly marked down prices to move them. The prices were a couple of thousand below 2019 prices. I hesitated too long on the 2038R and they only had two, which were sold by the time I decided. So I bought a 2032R for $19,900. JD had a deal that if you got three or more attachments you got a 20% discount on them. So I added dual rear SCV's, a Quick Hitch, and a single point hydraulic decoupler. The tractor came with the 220r loader. Got 0% interest and the dealer threw in a free middle buster plow. No money down, price was $21,972.18 plus $1,318.88 tax and $361 for insurance made the entire amount financed $23,652.06.

    • @dkenmiller9829
      @dkenmiller9829 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a very good question Steve. Unfortunately I don't think it would help much if at all. The problem is that EMP induces very high voltage spikes in all conductors whether they are connected to a power source or not.
      On the upside if you have a pure stock sixties collector car (or tractor) it should survive just fine because it contains no microprocessors or other sensitive electronics. :)

    • @randalmiddleton8068

      EMP's can't harm the green tractors... read that on internet.

    • @acdii
      @acdii ปีที่แล้ว

      Only if it is in a Faraday cage. My B2410 will run with no issues, but the L4060 will be dead as a door nail. EMP destroys electronics whether there is power to them or not as it fuses the very fine conductors in the CPU. The way the EMP works is it induces a high voltage/current through the exposed wires which then feeds into the electronics. Wrapping the CPU in a Faraday cage and disconnecting the harness will prevent EMP damage, but that is only if it is parked, if running, Nope, its gone.

    I found a 2021 L5460 and if you finance for 84 months, the asking price it’s around $700 a month or if you take advantage of kabota‘s 1.99% for 84 months you can get a brand new L 6060 $714 a month kind of a no-brainer to get a brand new tractor. That just tells me used equipment is way too high.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  ปีที่แล้ว

      That doesn't mean used equipment is priced too high. That's all about interest which is based on monetary policy, risk, credit worthiness, duration, equipment age, etc. Doesn't matter the segment, older equipment commands a higher interest rate. Many lenders won't even finance a vehicle if it's older than a certain date.

    Zero interest. Well I didn’t realize what I had till it was too later. Last fall I bought a pto spreader and a land plane. They offered zero interest in them. I thought hey their money not mine. Well, I found out or realized the paperwork had a couple hundred dollar fee. Then Kubota added insurance in case of thrift, that too my $2,200 purchase and kicked it up to $2,800. All of a sudden it wasn’t a good deal because I wasn’t getting squat for interest on my savings account. So I went and payed it tiff a couple months later. Kubota refunded me the portion of insurance not used.
    So the moral of the story is, if it’s a inexpensive item, use your own money rather than there is because added fees and insurance will kill you if it’s an expensive item then it may be worth it to go zero interest .
