First time buyer of a BX Kubota. I got a grass bagger which works great but a pain to connect. Had a huge failure with a PTO separation. Covered by Kubota insurance and Mason Tractor in N Ga has been super in replacing an off center PTO half. They have gone way past what they could have done. Really appreciate the support.

I think it’s awesome Courtney that you took time out of your life to make this video and help this guy through this difficult situation. You, of all people, thoroughly understand the true costs of a machine not working when using it for a business and I think your insight on this subject really sheds some light and perspective to the average home owner who may be looking to eventually transition to a business and how this could effect them when buying equipment. Buy your dealer is what I’ve always been told and this is just further confirmation of that. Thanks again and Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and your family/team up there!

I had a loader valve on my Kioti ck3510SE do this with the loader dropping about 2 ft in a 5 min span running. Brand new with only 2 hrs. I had 2 previous kubotas and 0 issues. Your right, no brand is immune. My 3 pt is jerky on my kioti which i HATE!! I should have never sold my L5030. The kioti dealer(tractor place in Knightdale NC) wasnt real sympathetic. At the same time Kubota ignored me when shopping a new tractor and made me really feel like crap. Kioti did spend more time with me. IDK after Covid I think all the big ones have lost touch with quality and customer service.

Great video!!! I went through three kubota dealerships before buying my lx2610 the dealer was the major selling point. I worked with the owner and he convinced me to move up from a B to LX at a $30 a month difference in price for a more capable tractor. The other two dealers could not be bothered to even help. I used Greenville saw in Greenville NY that’s 1 hr and 30 min away vs two dealers with In 30 minutes. They were bought buy townline and I still get great service!!! I could not be happier. The tractor is secondary the dealer is the number one deciding factor for me.

So I did buy Kubota, twice. Both were/are LX2610 tractors. I dont think they are actually "better" machines than tym/Branson or kioti, but I was mostly buying dealer support.
In rural AK we have two local dealers, a John deere shop that is notorious for leaving people high and dry, and not great reputation as far as their shop goes, and a Kubota dealer with a "fair" rep and decent techs in the shop.
The only place within 360 miles of me that sells kioti is a trailer/rv center, with no shop.
So, I spent more money for name brand, but primarily because I felt it was the best dealer support in my area.
One thing they also sold me was a "MARC"- maintain and repair contract. They're betting that ill have my tractor in their shop for less than the 2k it cost, and to me having that maintenance paid for, and a rental unit provided if it is in the shop was worth it. With using those tractors both for small scale contractor work and livestock feeding, the peace of mind knowing that for the next four years ill have *a* machine available to me no questions was worth the extra cost

I know the feeling. I purchased a 2022 1025R, new. At 30 hours the hood latch broke. I use the, garaged, tractor lightly. I took the hood back to the local Florida John Deere dealership and they explained they needed to see the ENTIRE tractor to cover (under warranty). I trailered whole tractor to the dealer and they told me they could not be sure it was a manufacture defect and told me I would have to pay the whole cost minus a 5 % discount. I told them no. I was going on vacation in Indiana that same day and decided to take the hood with me to a John Deere dealer there. (My family has dealt with the dealership before and loved their service experience). Anyway, I walked in with only the 1025R hood, in hand and was there less than 10 minutes before the parts manager saw it was clearly a defect in the manufacture process and handed me a new hood at no cost.

Once again Courtney you nailed it. You gave great advise and the only two things I will reiterate is everything is made by humans and as such not perfect ,no matter the brand, AND going ballistic on the dealer you may think will make you feel better but it won't help your situation and will probably cause more road blocks. The people at the dealership didn't build the tractor, truck, or whatever and probably get beat up a lot from customers. You might surprise yourself at how good you feel to treat those people nicely and conversely how bad you may feel if you go off on them only to realize later you took your frustration out on the wrong folks with a rant. Even if the dealer caused an issue going off on them solves nothing. Sometimes it's beneficial to reflect on how imperfect we ourselves are. Have a great day Courtney!

I know the feeling, I recently purchased a used JD 2025 TLB still under factory warranty 50 hours.
From the beginning the front axle seals were leaking badly along with the rear axle seal, backhoe main valve leaks, and various hose leaks. Took it in for service and it sat in their yard for weeks until I showed up on a surprise visit, at which time they finally started working on it. Got it back, and it still has the rear axle leak after the repair and now add a check engine triangle to the mix. Went In the shop again early this week and waiting for a resolution on the issues. Start friendly but firm. Pay them a personal visit to keep them on task. If it’s not fixed this time, time to start ramping up the pressure and contact the JD mother ship see if that helps.
Good advice is to keep the nastiness down and ride it out, although I’ve been temped to just sell it and get another one.
    I wish us both luck!

It sounds like the Kubota's hydraulic pump has issue, it will be covered under warranty, Kubota is a little tricky when putting in a warranty claim it has to be worded just right to get approved. maybe try a different dealer if they are not getting any cooperation. I have driven 3 hours to pick up a Kubota for warranty issues and then dropped it back after it was fixed, all covered by Kubota.

I wonder what percentage of new equipment from each tractor manufacturer has mechanical issues that cannot be resolved on the first attempt at repair. That would be a good indicator of technical knowledge that may be lacking in the customer support for each manufacturer.
Kubota and John Deere may learn the hard way that each dissatisfied customer results in at least some loss of future sales. A happy customer usually results in spreading good words about your product, when asked, but that is typically the extent of it. An unhappy customer, who cannot get proper resolution to equipment problems, will make it a point to do as much damage as possible to that company’s future sales. Studies have been done on the impact of both scenarios to longterm company viability. I don’t remember the exact ratio, but one dissatisfied customer can completely wipe out the good will created in the market by something like two hundred satisfied customers.

Very true. I purchased a 2019 Kubota in excellent condition, and I went out to find axle fluid all over the inner wheel. The Kubota dealer is 3 weeks out on service, and will have it there about a week for service. So on a 38k tractor I just purchased, I'm without it for at least a month. The good news is, it's most likely covered by warranty, but I have to pay a tow company $130 each way, to get it there and back. I'd consider doing it myself, but I don't have a heated space it will fit in due to the cab, and it's in the mid 20's here, so I don't want to take on a 1/2 day job out in a unheated pole building if I don't have to.

If the customer is having continual unresolved issues with the same thing on the tractor, maybe he could check into whether the lemon law applies to the tractor in his area. I personally don’t look at the name on the side of my equipment, I buy for functionality and affordability. Like you said, they all have issues sometimes. Sometimes though, they can’t get an issue resolved, sometimes it requires a bigger resolution like a total replacement. I also believe that the manufacturer should be held accountable for defective equipment. I agree that being nice is the best course of action, it’s generally not the dealer’s fault.

I think the reason a lot of us buy well known name brands is that they do have dealers all over the place, and you do feel like you've got a place to take your machine if something catastrophic happens. If the dealer fails to deliver; wow, that's a bummer. The reason we tend to stay away from the off or less well known brands is because of lack of dealer support in our local area. Nobody wants a tractor that breaks and then you discover the nearest parts are hundreds of miles away. So, it's not so much brand loyalty or blind loyalty as it is dealership placement and where you can get help if the problem is too big for a regular shade tree guy to fix.

It sounds like one problem after another on a brand new tractor. When any product starts off bad, especially something really expensive, in the long run you'll regret keeping it. I think the right thing to do is replace the tractor and then it becomes the dealer and or the manufacturers problem instead of the customers. It's doing the right thing and taking responsibility when you sell someone a lemon.

Correct. Things can happen to anything manmade! Where it matters most, is how a Company handles the situation and how you are treated. Kioti is one Company who will not treat you well. First hand experience. They are the worst in terms customer relations I have ever dealt with.

If quality control was held to higher standards as it was 30-40 years ago , the problems wouldn't be showing up. It's terrible when someone pays for a new tractor and it doesn't have 50 hrs on it and starts having problems. Now I can understand a new model year machine that's still has growing pains from re-tooling and manufacturing new designs, but if it's a basic model of the same thing, theres just no excuses.

Well Most shops now don't have mechanics they are RE&RE guys!! The tractor I had, (sold the house ) came with cross threaded bolts for holding the lower bracket for the front end loader.
I solved it with tightening the frame to the tractor then to see what shims were necessary for holding this together. But that as too much for the RE&RE guy/s to think of !!!
My truck well , the one injector which needed to have the cab raised was the one which was uumm ( ???? up!!) So that was another $1,100.00 more added to the original bill.. So much for Factory trained RE& RE gu ys yaaa??? OH yes they did not do the injector check on it as I HAD REQUESTED as they told me after that they should all be done, at the same time. But they didn't do as I wanted / as I wanted to prevent another $1,100.00 bill again. So yes they qualify for RE&RE Boys.

Just amazes me how much being brand loyal can blind people. Kubota and JD makes good stuff and crap just like all the brands. I recently went with a BadBoy because of the incredible value and capabilities.
The pure venom hardcore people throw your way is fascinating….you do you.
Sure the orange paint cost me a bit more than Branson. However, my local supportive dealer made the difference in my buy decision. Before this, had multiple kubota products. Good and bad….long term, could I have a problem 10 years from now or be unsupported. Maybe……Courtney has correctly pointed out before how even the big brands leave some products unsupported.
Do the research and do what’s right for you. Ignore those that scream everything is about one brand. There is a ton to consider when selecting a machine that fits your needs and budget.

We have a 1974 Ford Tractor purchased brand new and have taken care of it since purchased, no fancy electronics, no advance fuel injection, exhaust, hydraulics systems etc and you can work on it without an advanced degree in diesels, electronics or hydraulics just good old fashioned American basic engineering and mechanical skills and that tractor has paid for itself 10x over and we are still running it today for basic needs in our sand & topsoil operations lol. I think the more manufacturers try to improve or develop more technology advanced machines the more issues and problems they create not only for themselves but also for their customers, can’t put all the blame on manufacturers when you incompetent, ideologically driven power hungry politicians creating policy decisions and demands on manufacturers who know absolutely nothing about the industry period let alone all those who not only use machines to earn a living but also the average consumer who uses the machines to make their lifestyle more efficient and enjoyable.

I dunno if it will help or not but I bought a brand new John Deere it’s spent just as much time in the shop as it has in my possession. Between loader valve replacement and 3 point hitch valve replacement and it’s still not exactly right. I guess pay for insurance run her till she blows and catches fire claim insurance buy something else. I dunno Courtney right there is no answer and dealer support not really there. Sorry to the new kubota owner hope it works out for the best!

Perhaps you wouldn’t agree, but I personally have had more customer service problems in the last 5 years than ever in my 65 years. I have found with the advent of social media that putting names of dealers with repeatedly bad reviews from good people out there is one of the best ways to get their attention and bring about change. Bad service should not be just an accepted norm. Something needs to change, and if loss of customer base is the only thing that can bring about change, then so be it. Just my honest…..fed up opinion.

This is not a Kubota problem, things do go wrong on everything, the problem here is the dealership. It must be very frustrating for Kubota to have to sell into a market with incompetent dealers. The tractor should be picked up and fixed at no cost to the customer. To me the customer should have the whole machine replaced because contamination has affected it. I've no idea if this happens in America but it would in other countries.

I bought a Kubota tractor a few years back. The dealer was amazing, but they are at the mercy of KUBOTA, when it comes to warranty work. The tractor was flawless in the beginning, but started having trouble with the for peddle mechanics. KUBOTA wanted rods and pens replaced in the beginning and eventually they replaced the valve accurator. I bought a bh77 backhoe later and they had to replace the whole control block, due to leaks. I had to call Kubota USA corporate to get it done, as the dealer was just told to wait for their decision. I'm done with Kubota, not because of the dealer, but rather KUBOTA and their slow response to warranty claims.

Ford/New Holland or JD. If you buy anything else you're throwing money away. My Ford 5000 has seen my neighbor go through 5 brand new Kubotas. Their hydrologic pumps are total garbage. Have to buy an aftermarket pump the second you buy the tractor. The brand actually matters a lot. I've never heard of a New Holland/Ford or JD breaking after two days and I'm a fourth generation farmer. I have to call bs on that.

So the injector test came back and there is metal that is visible to the naked eye in the injectors, all four failed. kubota is still saying it is my fault for fuel contamination. Yet there is no metal in fuel tank or either fuel filter. it has to be coming from the high pressure pump as kubota has had this issue happen before, but they insist its my fault for adding Howes .

Like everything and anything, it's a mechanical thing made by humans. I'm sure even Honda has a bugaboo once in a while. I've only had a loader stick weld break on my loader stick. My tractor dealer came out, picked up my tractor and took it to the shop, tig'd the weld and made it stronger. It was back to me the next day.

  • @johnseavey6622
    @johnseavey6622 ปีที่แล้ว

With all the metal in the hydraulic system I believe it is the same oil as the complete drive train, the tractor is now junk and can never be relied on. Imagine metal coating all the systems in the tractor. Don't know if it's a hydro tranny or not but it's already ruined the hydro pump and motor , they are extremely precision parts, get rid of the tractor as soon as it's fixed.
