There's a VR arcade around where I live that hosts Beat Saber tournaments with Hard difficulty and no fail. This will definitely help me sweep the competition once that place opens again
This is an amazing series with superb quality and great choice of topics. I hope this series continues and thank you so much to SSnowy and everybody else who helps to make this possible. I can’t express my gratitude enough
the tip about looking at the opposite side of the block from the arrow is a great tip i never thought of doing that and i am going to have to try that out!
Every time I am trying to improve in some Beat Saber sector you create video exactly for that topic. These videos are just great, since first video I have improved by a qiate bit (crossed sub 1000 rank line, even for a short bit) thanks to you.
I watched this video, and I kid you not, I finish watching and my accuracy improves by like 2 percent. I was not able to acc before, but now I kinda can. Thanks!
YES. Pandita is one of the best accuracy players in the world and he used to use WMR. I believe he uses Rift S now, but he got to the top using WMR. Whiisper and I didn't include WMR in this video, but I can firmly say that I didn't know the best accuracy players for WMR when writing the video. Now that I know Pandita used WMR, it would've made more sense to add it to the video. Either way, if you check out Pandita's scoresaber, or watch his replays, you'll see what I mean when I say he/she is one of the best acc players: scoresaber.com/u/76561198186151129
One topic i'd love to see covered in the future is swing technique / increasing endurance. Like, is it better to swing with your entire arm or just your wrist? Are there stretches that help the muscles used in beat saber? Besides constant practice, what is a good way to build up your stamina with the insane, high level ranked maps? Episode 2 does this but on the mental half, what about the physical half?
practicing accing with the hilt of the sabers doesn't seem like it would help you acc on faster maps, so why should i practice it? If I'm playing a high star map I hit the near the tip because I time my swings like that during high bpm 1/2 or 1/4 sections to not be thrown off, so shouldn't I practice accing with normal swings in order to improve my acc on maps that actually matter, not 1 star maps.
Yes. We talk about hitting blocks with the saber hilt so that you can use it as another tool in your tool belt during game play. In 1* maps, it can replace all the hits you do in the middle two rows, because it's easy, and we have reason to believe that it can help. On faster/ranked maps, there are often sections where hitting with the saber hilt can be useful. For example, the new ranked map "Space Battle" has sections which are heavily in the middle two rows. That doesn't mean that it should be used all the time. Like I said in the 2nd BSRA video, tipping is the complete opposite of hitting with your saber hilt, yet I recommend that as well. There are different situations for which these techniques are useful. It's up to you to use them accordingly. I probably could've made this clearer. But hind-sight's 20/20 I guess :p
I use the lenovo explorer wmr headset, i always thought tracking was the problem since it is pretty bad compared to most other vr headsets. I'll try out these tips and hopefully I'll be able to improve my accuracy. update: changing my method of swinging has helped me get better scores, i used to average 65-80ish% now i average 75-85%ish it depends on the map.
The Boopster that’s probably more to do with what levels you play, a slow level like freedom dive you have better accuracy than something like hold angel you
How about people who can not move their wrists so much or so fast? It is my the most limiting factor atm, I can read some maps but I am physically unable to move my wrists.
My advice to you would be to mess with different grips. Depending on your controller grip you can greatly increase your range of motion for swings, making wrist flicking much easier.
Quest players have the same controllers as Rift S, so we merged the two camps for this video. We wanted to show that if you have any system, you could be a great accuracy player with practice. That goes for quest too. Also, if you happen to have quest link, then you can get access to scoresaber and all the other pc content. Don't worry haha. If you want to be recognized as a great acc player, you could join the community's discord and then post good scores in the #acc-flexing channel.
@@alphazetavr1888 Nah, I tried PC for a week and gave up, still playing on Quest standalone. 😁 Took a week to get good on the Quest again after ruining my timing with Link too... 😂
I struggle a lot with acc on complex stream maps. I've FC'd Tower of Heaven but fell just short of SS rank. I would appreciate it if a future BSRA would address strategies for accing on maps like these.
You didn't mention Taichi... He is very good with accuracy on fast and slow maps. He can get a 97 - 98 on true accuracy maps. He uses Oculus but I don't know which one.
flashmpm I didn’t mean to say Taichi doesn’t deserve recognition. Just wanted to say he uses CV1. You can’t deny he’s an amazing player. Not only is he #1 in the world, he’s ahead of even Silverhaze by over 100pp
Taichi definitely has amazing accuracy. In the last section, we wanted to display one person from each prominent system who had good accuracy to show that anyone can have good accuracy as long as they practice. Since Taichi and Sfk both use the Rift CV1, we decided to include Sfk instead because he specializes in accuracy play, and is a prominent figure in the accuracy community. Taichi is the best player in the world and is recognized all around the community as such. For this video, we wanted to shine the spotlight on a more diverse set of individuals. That being said, I should've mentioned Pandita, and I regret that I didn't.
This is an amazing video, thank you. I always had one question about the swing angle though: we talk about 100 degree incoming to 60 degree follow-through -- but this must be defined within a specific timing window right? Like swinging super slowly would not give you the full swing angle, even if you did a full "swing". So do people know what that timing window is? It must be pretty short I imagine.
There isn’t really a timing window when it comes to hitting blocks. When the saber collides with a block, the game automatically registers it as a hit, giving you however much time to pull the rest of the saber through the hitbox. When you swing quick, the saber travels through the hitbox in less time, allowing you to hit for a higher swing angle. This doesn’t apply to all maps though as note jump speed (what determines the speed of blocks) can vary. You can get away with slow and broad swings on maps with low NJS.
@@stellasilverr Mhm! Yeah I understand that as long as you hit the block, it registers, but I guess I was wondering about the "however much time to pull the rest of the saber through the hitbox". Like, you make contact with the block, and then how much time before and after the hit, does the game measure the angle? If you know what I'm saying, hard to explain these things without diagrams lol
In the description there is a link to the 115 Guild discord. In that discord server, you can find accuracy playlists, as well as two different accuracy campaigns.
So if I understand this correctly, the accuracy is determined the moment the saber collides with the hitbox, meaning that after that point I can start changing the direction (to get into a better position for the next hit) without losing accuracy points? How much can I change the direction of the saber without breaking the swing? And how is the swing angle determined? Also from collision with the hitbox? Because that would mean that for hitting, say, a downward note on the top row I'd have to start the swing _way_ back (because I'll be hitting it at a much steeper angle than a bottom row note).
How do people get good acc on up notes on the bottom row? No matter how large the arc of my swing is, I still get 70-90 the majority of the time. It's aggravating because it kills my accuracy by up to 5% and ruins my ranks. All my best songs have few notes like that. I've tried raising the stage, but eventually the top notes get too far (I have to swing far above my head) Even if I make sure my controllers are totally vertical towards the floor before the swing and swing 180 degrees, I still get 70's.
I know that's my fault :p. I didn't know how large of an influence he/she was in the accuracy community until everything was already all recorded and we were almost done editing. It sucks because he/she is a really good player too.
