I tend to buy white kits to “make it my own”, but also get a livery if near and dear to my heart. Most of my whites are Slot it, BRM, Revo Slot or NSR. Recent project was a Slot It GT40. Did a dry fit and couldn’t fit a few parts, so I took down a shelf Queen model and pulled the body free and everything fell in place. Next up was the Revo 510. Got the white kit because I missed the livery I really wanted (u snooze, u lose). So I opened it up, and did a dry fit and scratched my head for the lack of holes to fit parts to. It quickly dawned on me that Revo uses “cups” not drilled holes or posts in the outer body. After that I had no issues fitting things where they need to go. But I think Dave hit the nail on the head, Manufacturers should provide either PDF files or a viewable exploded diagram to aid us. Revo provides a print out with each car that shows the available (maybe) replacement/upgrade parts, so how about another page to explode the body parts .
Thanks for the best news on the web Dave, much appreciated! Have a great weekend! Edit: For the Carrera Evolution Nascars I can just flip the switch on the bottom and run them the "right" direction on my Policar track. I also have the Policar polarity inversion cable, so I can run any car the opposite direction if I choose. All brands should offer that!
you have no idea how many calls I fielded over the years while at Carrera about that topic alone. I got screamed at for being "an idiot for not making the cars go the right way". It happened at least a dozen times a year we'd get calls on that topic alone, it sucked.
Nailed it Dave! And don’t assume people are experienced slot car racers. I watched a video just this week about installing axel box. It was terrible because the guy ASSUMED those of us watching were trained electricians. So frustrating.😡
We are still awaiting the TS Can Am Ferrari here in the UK, so I'd imagine the Vettes will be a little later than US deliveries as well. Got the #64 on P/O , saw it at Le Mans last year. Must say ,nice as the Vettes are, I thought they weren't as interesting as the Stangs at this year's race, they sounded awesome, but not quite as awesome as the Caddies in HyperCar class. Had a fantastic 11 days at the Sarthe, crowds biggest I'd seen in 40 years of going. Thanks for the update Dave, have a great weekend.
it's not possible honestly. The amount of charge that it costs to be part of their merchandizing is massively expensive AND nearly no one would buy a huge box with a set in it while at a track. We'd talked about this with Nascar so many times while I worked for SCX, Carrera and Scalextric. Nascar isn't willing (wasn't anyway) to do extra marketing for NASCAR.com to push sets/cars so it's just too expensive. You have to pay for everything for the rights to show at tracks. Each weekend would cost a minimum of $30,000.00. To make that make sense from a numbers point of view you'd need to sell at least 5x that each weekend, which would never happen. I've broken down this cost so many times and I've researched with people that DO exhibit during every 'CAR race and I figured out costs for a small team of people to travel to even a few races. And Carrera doesn't spend this much money outside their home market for marketing, period. I dearly wish this isn't the case, but it is. Thanks for this comment, I appreciate the chance to shed some light on this topic which I'm sure will come up again and again. I will do a video about just this topic. Thanks for putting this back to the top of my mind.
Cheers Dave - You can never assume people know how to build up white kits so yes INSTRUCTIONS are a must!!!
Your right access to instructions to any kind of kit is a must.
Thanks for this weeks news Dave. 👏👏👍
Another entertaining and informative Friday "Slot Car News". Looking forward to the new liveries.
Thank you for your expertise and information.
😁
Thank you Dave..!

Agree big time

Glad you covered the no clockwise running of the new Carrera Digital Nascars. I imagine the nascar purists will try to find a way tho....🏁

Wow awesome stuff Dave. The 510, & 512. Really like the white ones. Home runs!

❤ Thank-you again Dave! Great news. Totally agree about the online instructions. This is a must for kits that require assembly.
Oh BABY is this fall gonna be awesome 🤠 thanks Dave and be safe ✌️❤️🇺🇸
That Zexel car looks sweet!
Have a great rest of the week everyone & Dave
That BRM 512 is a must have

NASCAR Carrera Digital 1:32 ...just turn your Control Unit 180° ...there you go "counter-clockwise" 😉
That's what I do with my Scalextric.
Great content kits are difficult to build
The lack of instructions bit me with the 510 kit . a billion pieces and zero instructions on where they all go.
If Nascar is smart, they should be selling these tracks at every race.

I also asked directly if they would do events and I was given a flat "no" from Carrera USA.
@SlotCarNewsOfficial it does make sense unfortunately.
Home Racing World moderators would make any dictator proud.
Another informative Friday, thanks Dave
Can not pass up BRM news
Are we getting real Goodyear tires or Decent Decade tires on the stockers?
Thanks Dave!
Thanks
Unfortunately I believe they are about 10 years late for NASCAR! NASCAR IS DEAD
