@@wtdorlackthe rock show one I literally have recorded on my phone - the way he moves during it and all the emotion he put into it gets me everytime. I wish there was a whole album of just his solos
It’s funny because it really is like child’s playing with how simple it is, but he has style and knows how to work it. He keeps it simple and makes simple sound and look amazing. That’s why I love him and his music. He simultaneously makes me believe I can do it too while making me ask myself how does he come up with this amazing stuff. I haven’t heard a Tom song that I needed to skip. Never ever. Mark too, really, which is why they belong together.
I’ve seen the Down outro at Reading 2014 so many times that somehow I can recognize every sound and every note Tom plays in it, you were crazy close to it, never thought anyone would ever make a video about Tom’s solos. Cheers man
Minimalist and repetitive yet nobody plays like him! Thanks for the covers! You played everything i thought you would except maybe all that we are but then again it's pretty much on the record the way it's played live. Keep up the excellent work
I just found the Camden NJ video a couple of weeks ago, and ohmygod that was peak DeLonge for sure. You can feel a lot of the underlying tension there but holy shit the music was so good. I absolutely love the STFTK performance
The Reading concert from 2014 was amazing and super underrated. Any fan should watch it on TH-cam right now! Had jokes and amazing live renditions of every song. What’s not to love?
God I remember learning all this stuff from wembly and Pepsi smash in like 2006. With my vox 30 watt amp simulator and that multi effects pedal everyone had back then... Miss those days
Could you record a fully instrumental version of their version of a letter to Elise and then Download the mp3 of their live version and somehow get their vocals from it while cutting out the instrumentations (as much as you can) and match it with your studio version. Then we could technically have a somewhat close to studio version of their version of a letter to Elise 🙏🏻
I think the closest you'll get to a studio version is the cover of A Letter to Elise by Future Idiots (they did a cover based off blink-182's performance)
Say what you want about Tom live vocally but he is a very under rated guitarist. He comes up with great riffs and little guitar pieces. That’s what I loved live with him in blink, he added cool solos and little extra guitar pieces during songs and would improvise and it was cool.
Have you heard the Camden 2004 rock show solo? That’s my fave. The whole thing gives me chills especially the end of it. Would love to hear you play it!

Ok. I saw enough. I saw many videos of Tom Delonges riffs, now, I see a video about his solo's. What about Tom Delonges bridges? I just asked, because I like bridge from the "first date". I love this song and I'll listen it forever. Maby, I'll give you some idea for video, who knows)
Ya these shits are solos they're like the simplest little guitar riffs, I'm not hating on blink I used to listen to them all the time in middle school but still he never did actual solos idk why tho it could be really simple like new green day solos but guess that was to complicated for tom
Not quite. On this mark starts with B on the second string and the octave (B on the G string - so second string second fret, 4th string 4th fret). And goes down the scale so 2/4, 4/6, 6/8 and then back to 2/4. However after the first time he also adds in the A# on the G. So it’s more 2/43 but he’ll alternate. So (2nd on 2nd, and 3 and 4 on 4th string) it’s more 2-2-4-2-3-2-4-2-3-2-4 then (4th fret on 2nd, 6/4* on 4th) 4-6-4-4*-4-6-4-4*-4-6, and so on. Hope that makes sense, trying to write tab on TH-cam is a bit difficult.

Tom Delonge is not only a great voclaist but a great musician too
Besides flanger and delay what other effects so u use on the rock show bridge!?!? I can never get it to sound perfect like yours does.
Whilst Toms guitar is good on the live version of Down at Reading, Marks bass is really underrated and far from easy.
i agree. imo mark's way of playing the bass has always been overlooked.
I feel like he gets enough props as a bassist because all he does is play root note and fifth
Isn't that baseline just the bass track for always? Don't get me wrong, I think it's one of the best endings to down ever for both instruments
