      Thanks for this, I might had been able to afford a midnight blue memphis studio. The 335 w/ trapeze as they come up every so often for $600 - $800 and now thats over. Tying it to the most popular contemporary signature between musicians and non musicians. Tom hit the nail on he head with this thing. I think the aesthetic is so visually moving.

    @JakeShafferYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    I owned both of Tom DeLonge’s signature guitars and I will definitely say the Stratocaster gives off more of a Blink-182 vibe (in my opinion) while the ES-333 just felt like Gibson’s take of the Strat. They were both great guitars nonetheless.

      So in all seriousness I have this epiphone. I got it back in 2012... If I want the biggest band for my buck should I hold on to it for another decade or two? Will it be worth 10k by then lol?

    • @JakeShafferYT
      @JakeShafferYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@donnydekenipp9344 Honestly, I don’t see them being THAT much more than what they are but it will definitely be worth way more than what you originally paid for. I feel if you have it you should for sure keep a hold of it because after all it does make a great conversational piece even if you no longer want to play it 😂

    • @peanutbutterisfu
      @peanutbutterisfu ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donnydekenipp9344It’s an epiphone so it’s not gonna be a 10,000 guitar but they have doubled in price they were $500 new back in the day and are around 1,000-1,200 bucks for a nice used one it will only go up in value. I would say in a few decades if you keep it in really mint original condition it will probably be worth a few grand more because as time goes on more and more of them will be trashed from playing shows and people not taking care of them plus inflation. There was a bunch of them made so there is no shortage but again as time goes on it will be harder to find them in mint condition. Get Tom to sign it in a nice spot just his name don’t have him make it out to you and wait a few decades until the band ends for good then it will be worth some big money

      It's the main guitar for self-titled album, while Strat was used on two albums before it

    • @MavisRecon
      @MavisRecon 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I owned the Strat as well and can confirm it just goes way harder like you'd think Tom would want. He kneels down right in front of his cabinets just to get blasted with the distortion while he's playing live for God's sake. The Seymour Duncan bridge pickup provided such booming chords, where as the ES-333 sounds more appropriate for 70's style rock or "Indie" Rock from the early 2000's. I like the sound of the ES-333 kinda, but not enough that I was going to shell out $3000 dollars for one (that's how much they cost when I discovered they were being produced). But f*ck me, I wish I had now. I wish I'd bought two of them at least. I say the ES-333 would be a great guitar to have in your studio for recording purposes. But blowing the crowd out of the venue with your chords? It falls a little short of the Strat, while being technically superior in every other way.
      Idk every time I hear the ES-333 I'm underwhelmed. Maybe dudes need to start cranking up the gain or something?
      Edit: I just wanted to add that at the 15:00 mark, dude really jammed on that thing. Is that a Blink song? I think that's the type of sh*t Tom should be playing with that guitar. I don't really listen to music anymore, but if that was a Blink/Tom song at 15:00 I'd go listen to it right now.

I'm going to pass it down eventually, and at that point its fate will be beyond my control. But it'll never end up for sale as long as I'm alive! I love it so much. I got lucky with both but especially with the Epi cause I never really thought much about buying one. I was on reverb back in April and they had a few for $700 that were beat and the one I got that was mint as can be and I picked it up for cheaper than that. I’m so glad I got it but wished I could’ve afforded the Gibson back then. I just could not see myself paying that much at the time for it. When you look at the rest of the build quality on the bare wood it’s not surprising they missed something like the stripe and pickup being in the right place. Build quality from Gibson is just not up to par.
