My mama was the only one who loved liver in our house...as a child, I went to bed hungry many nights when this was served.
This one caught my eye. I’m the only one here, that loves L&O’s. My auntie made it and you’d swear you were eating steak 😋

Ms. Gina; My most popular Facebook post ever was when I asked the question: "Can anybody tell me why on earth do people love liver and onions so much?" It was an amazing response and debate by everyone and brought back memories from childhood and many stories about grandparents were posted as well. I was pleasantly "shook" with delight, but sad to say I will never eat the dish again as my taste buds will protest in my mouth!

I’m in Charleston, SC and this is almost the way I’ve always done my liver BUT I can’t do it as often as I’d like and maintain my figure because I use rendered bacon fat instead of butter, I liberally season the flour as well as the liver, I use BEER as the liquid, a good bit more onion and I’m not looking for ways to make my recipe figure-friendly, either😉. Ha! It is something else and has made liver-haters, liver-lovers😂! Your recipe will definitely make new believers come to the table!

My granny made the best Smothered liver and onions ever. She soaked the liver in milk over night, which took out the bitterness of the liver. So it tasted sweet. Then she cooked it just like done here. Might try that some time. She did her chicken livers the same way. Loved it so much

Looking good Mrs. Gina. Liver, onions and gravy is all time favorite 🤩 at our home. But I prefer butter grits instead of rice.
Looove Liver. I also grew up on this at least once or twice a month. My dad used to soap it in milk. I'm not sure why. I really want to make this myself. I crave it but I have tried times before and never liked it. It's just not like my dads. I rly miss that. His gravy was so similar and I'm going to try this thank youuuu Gina young!!!

My mom's and grandmother on my dad's side made beef liver like steak.I loves it with 🍚 rice or mashed 🥔 potatoes. And 🥗 salad.yummy.

Ms. Gina, we had liver, onion gravy mashed potato’s and fried cabbage with cornbread yesterday. That is a very inexpensive but healthy delicious meal. It looks very tasty. I grew up on this type of cooking in the 70’s.
We LOVE liver and onions, haven't made it with gravy though, will have to try. Amazing.
I've made it with flour and with bread crumbs, either way it's delicious.
