Peru is one of the most beautiful countries I've visited and I didn't even see a 10th of it! I did get to see the Nazca lines and fly over them in a Cessna Grand Caravan... and it was the most turbulent flight I've taken! But the air sickness was well worth it, got a lot of great photos of the geoglyphs. My advice is to book a flight that will take off by 11:30 at the latest, before the wind from the ocean picks up and makes flights bumpy! Plus, there's the Pampa Galeras - Barbara D'Achille National Reserve on the 3S highway btwn Nazca and Cuzco, Cuzco itself, Pisaq (one of the best outdoor markets I've seen), the Sacred Valley and Agua Caliente and Machu Picchu.

2:24 Túpac Amaru (I) if I'm correct, was executed by beheading in Cuzco. The story of Atahualpa 2:35 is also very interesting. They had to fill 3 rooms (cuarto del rescate) with gold and silver as a ransom. But got still executed even after. As the picture does show, he was sentenced being burned on the stake yes, but eventually he got executed by the garrote after converting to Christianity. Túpac Amaru (II) 3:15 was executed on the same Plaza de Armas in Cuzco, but got less lucky as Amaru (I), being quartered. Great seeing a lot of former tribes passing by as the Moche, Chimu, Nazca's etc. Mentioning the Chachapoyas with their citadel would have been cool too btw :)
2:30 False. It is believed that none of Pizarro's soldiers died in that battle, but it is only a myth told by the Spanish chroniclers themselves to propagate the idea of a precarious and weak empire. They were never able to conquer without the military support of other empires that were against the Inca Empire.
Yes. Thousands of Cañaris and Huancas soldiers supported the invaders. Even worse, smallpox and other viruses laid waste to the Inca Empire killing millions.
Indeed, several kingdoms and even some of the Inca royal families allied with the Spanish and they were the ones who won the battle against the Inca group resisting. The local nobility eventually converted to Catholicism and the title of Sapa Inca (Inca king) was transferred to Charles I via the Traslatio Imperii. Over the centuries, the Spanish king was known in Peru as the “Catholic Inca” by the indigenous peoples.
@QuittedNNG Haha, I've done that so many times when I first started using YT. Then I realised it's annoying and nobody cares, nor will there ever see it. Glad I never wrote "First!" lol
Peru, the land of pan flutes and alpacas, has grown to be a South American nation that got through skirmishes with neighboring nations... over land, of course! I had to say it. Next is the pearl of the Orient seas, and the collection of islands inhabited by people called Filipinos... THE PHILIPPINES! 🇵🇭
4:47 something funny is that every image you showed is from Lima, ahh, my beloved centralized perukistan, a lovelly place to saty, until the venezuelan migration
