Started thinking "poor, poor Iraq" when this video got to Saddam Hussein. Ever since he took over, most of Iraqi history has been awful, terrible, horrible things. ISIS made it worse. I feel more than a little bad for the Iraqi people. Yes, maybe better things will come for them. Some people have escaped the country and can live safely while still being proud of their heritage and culture.

But Iraq became a country and Kurdistan did not. So this country was doomed ever since its creation by the British. Even now Kurds and Iraqis cannot get along. Kurds and Iraqi Arabs just cannot live with each other permanently as they have various cultural differences, and history is an evidence of that
