If the show during that time was given another season, one of the best storylines which was scrapped was letting a villain finally take revenge against Blight and his co-horts for genuinely enacted a Declaration of War on another country that is literally close to DC's USA standards. I love Batman beyond, but the one problem I had with the show that it was more focused on being an action story than dedicating personal episodes to the characters of their relationships. Batman the animated series, had episodes of developing the characters without a lot of action and I feel like that’s what beyond was missing. I wished Terry and Bruce would spend time together to build their relationship besides little character moments that don’t even last two minutes. The same way with Terry’s relationship with his girlfriend was always the exact same situation of arguing about not showing up. It was getting old. I wish they actually took time to work everything out without a lot of action, but that’s not what they were doing for.
Batman beyond is not meant for kids. It was on a kids program, but the story itself is not meant for a young audience. But it had to be somewhere for people to know that the show existed.
13:57 Personally, he seems like he’s trying to rationalize the situation. His sudden jump to a more optimistic tone and sort of shake to his voice captures it for me. He’s sounds like he’s trying to find a way to accept what’s happened. He knows this is his fault, he knows he caused the downfall. But all he can do is accept it. Nothing else he can do now but accept he’s caused this Let me know what ya’ll think
2:56 Regarding the comment on screen, there could be a few reasons. Some better, some worse. I would like to say it's a "Black Arachnia" reason, went to a club and designed her based on things they saw. I mean, he did just leave a dance club.
Terry and Melanie are an example of a doomed romance. It's never going to work out no matter how hard they try, and that's really tragic to me. Even in her last appearance, Melanie obviously still loved Terry, while Terry couldn't get past her being a criminal, and he didn't didn't want to leave Dana for her.
No this relationship was fine. It's his other one that was toxic and harmful to the both of them. His relationship with Dana was nothing but a cycle of him constantly hurting her. It had to end and he needed to be with someone who could live his life with him.
Honestly while I loved the story of Maelanie and Terry and wish they ended up together, you can't blame her for choosing her family in the end. Look at it like a Military family. As a military brat you are constantly moving, so friendships and relationships are temporary. The only thing you have that's concrete is your family. I was a Military Brat and now a Veteran myself, so I could identify with that mentality of having to move a lot and leaving friends and lovers pretty much never seeing them again, it's a hard and painful life. Still in Terry and Melanie's case, they actually brought her back for a second meeting, so it seems even the creators enjoyed writing the two of them together, so it's a bit upsetting that the end of Batman Beyond (in Justice League) showed that Terry ended up with the toxic girl aka Dana.
Great video. Regarding the Melanie Walker and Terry McGinnis relationship, in the subsequent "Batman Beyond" comic Terry does break up with Dana, Melanie goes on parole/probation, finds out Terry is Batman, his brother becomes the new Robin, and for a couple of issues, it looked like Terry and Melanie would get together. Unfortunately, the comic went in another direction, and they abandoned this storyline, even though Melanie as 10 helps out Batman. To me this was a wasted opportunity, as Melanie could have abandoned her "10" persona, and became the new "Batgirl" in the "Batman Beyond" universe. IMO, this would have been cool to follow the new "Batman Family" universe in this future. I would've watched a animated series of Melanie and Terry together as a power couple, but instead we get the woke "Batman: Caped Crusader" which was complete and utter garbage. With DC "Absolute Powe" universe sales not doing too well, as it's DC's 4th reboot in the last 13 years, why not try something different? I'd follow a new comic of "Batman Beyond" with Terry and Melanie as a crime fighting team, but DC will never do that. A lost opportunity indeed. Referring back to the 1999 - 2001 animated series, I thought Terry's friend Max would become the new Batgirl. I thought the 3rd season of the series wasn't very good, and Angie Harmon replaced Stockard Channing as the voice of "Commissioner Gordon". I know Kevin Conroy moved on to "Justice League/Justice League Unlimited" after this series ended. I thought if the 3rd season was better, they could have done a 4th season.
I actually liked 10/Madeline Walker's character, and I wish that they kept her because she seemed like she could be Batman Beyond's version of Catwoman who joins Batman's side and becomes a great ally, like one Batman Beyond comic, but in other Batman Beyond comics Madeline Walker seemed like she was warming up to being a valuable character to Terry and the Batman crew and could be someone that they could trust and ally with, but they made Terry and her break it off. I wish that they kept Madeline Walker around and made her an ally of Terry like Batman Beyond's Catwoman.
Something about Melanie’s costume that I noticed is that half of it is black and half is white. The black half represents the part of her that wants to be with Terry/Batman. The white half is the part that wants to stay with the Royal Flush Gang.
These shows definitely helped me develop my moral center. Helping others, not judging, being willing to receive support, and also terrible relationship problems 😂 hahaha No I'm jking. But truly, these Batman shows were always fantastic and I did take away a lot internally.
For all its flaws and "Strangled By the Red String" romance, for some reason Terry x Melanie felt *right and proper* (if not *rewatchable)* compared to long-running official relationships like Peter Parker x Mary Jane Watson (Spider-Man: The Animated Series), that infamous Jean Grey/Scott Summers/James Logan love triangle (X-Men: The Animated Series), and even Zuko x Mai (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Korrasami (The Legend of Korra). Not sure why, though voice acting, decent pacing, and plot direction may have helped.
Melanie and Terry was a better pairing than him and Dana. They should have worked as a way of further showing that terry was going down a different path that Bruce never could.
100% agreed. They are both different people and Terry could have done things different in being successful in a relationship, succeeding where Bruce failed at.
I remember really liking the episode with melanie and terry, not exactly knowing why cause i was a very young kid when i watched batman beyond. She (in my own personal opinion) was so much better for terry than dana was but thats just me
Melanie and terry was the best especially in the comics as well they continue there relationship Dana was to normal for him she can’t keep up with his lifestyle but Melanie can. They rebooted the comics though sadly
Yeah, Melanie and Terry would have worked out just fine. It could also be a redemption arc about how Terry and Melanie made it work, unlike Bruce and Selina, which should have worked.
She did redeem herself. She stopped being a criminal. From what I have heard about the comics, she is partnered in helping out Terry and Bruce Wayne. I think Melanie and Terry are dating in the comics.
Melanie turned away from crime, while Selina went back to it. Also, the writers did Selina and Bruce dirty. They could have had a relationship, working together and a life after that. They just did not want that becuase they want Batman's life to be dark and hopeless for him, which I think is a mistake.

She ended up still there. If you watched Jsutice League Unlimited you will see what happened. Supposedly Dana and Terry get together. Dana, knowing Terry is Batman. Still did not like that ending.
Them retconning Batman beyond so Terry is a clone of Bruce Wayne was stupid as hell. This show was amazing. But anything that happened after the show ended I pretend doesn’t exist.
The difference between Bruce and Terry is that Bruce is Batman. That is, Batman is the real persona and Bruce is the mask. That’s not the case with Terry.
Not to steal an idea but I can’t find it, there’s someone in the comments here who said Melanie would’ve been a great contender for a batgirl beyond. I. Fuckin. Love. Everything about that idea. Like in the vein that she would use her criminal know how to be a sorta cat woman figure
What's he talking about at the end was there another sch**l sh**ting in america im unaware of? Edit:yep I just checked and there was one like 10 days ago
Not an exact copy. This was stated. He has some of his genetic traits, but not the mind of Bruce Wayne. Also, not a clone. A clone is a complete copy in looks and brain waves. Terry just has some of Bruce Waynes' DNA, the other half from his mother.
I disagree with you about Melanie and Terry relationship. We know that Melanie stopped being a criminal. She also knows Terry is Batman, therefore knowing what his life is like. They could easily end up together as a good couple, better than Celina and Wayne. She could be the one that could surpass Bruce Wayne's and Celina's relationship, making it work.
Always thought that Terry had missed a shot with Melanie. She could have been easily the next batwoman. Something that Bruce couldn't get Selena Kyle to be. Sorry she did have a small run here and there but she never stayed as batwoman. Melanie wanted to be something more then a thief. She didn't care for the cash the gold the money. All she cared for was the family and she loved the thrill. But once her family got to Gotham those desires were slowly weaning. And so she had more of a leg up in a change of heart and Catwoman did.
Supposedly the comics she becomes Batwoman, Terry and her are dating. I disagree with the premise that their relationship would be toxic, seeing how Melanie turned away from her family and the life of crime, unlike Selina, whom kept stealing. Also, Terry and Melanie could have done a far better job and actual create a life relationship with each other.
Tbh, I support Willy and don’t get why all these video essayists say that “muh violence bad”. Violence DOES work. You just expect people to do whatever they want to you? Doesn’t even help that schools punish both people in a fight regardless of who started it. So you get bullied by the institution and the individual. No wonder kids want to go pew pew on schools
2:55 why not? Why the heck you it to be anything less? Even kids wouldn't be this sensitive about it. Honestly it's pathetic. Terry & Dana are a good couple. At the end Melanie made her choice. Well it was good while it lasted. 8:05 why always blame the parents? Willy should be held accountable for his own actions.
While I agree with your first point on the second I want to point out that Minors aren't viewed as people by the state, they are legally considered property of their parents until they are adults, its why it is insanely difficult to actually trial a minor as an adult for anything short of felony murder. If they dont get to be people until they are of age, then yes the parents are entirely responsible, and thus accountable, for their child's actions as their legal owner (even if we dont use that word in polite society) But the legality of why it is that way aside - nobody said the kid was blameless, the dude asked how much of the blame should fall upon the father's shoulders. How much of this is his son being broken, and how much of this was learned behavior from observing how his dad lives.
Honestly Melanie & Terry had better chemistry than he did with Dana. They both had that Batman / Catwoman role.
The whole Catwoman and Batman is a toxic love, even in a recent comics they say that they never will had a happy ending.

Personally, he seems like he’s trying to rationalize the situation. His sudden jump to a more optimistic tone and sort of shake to his voice captures it for me. He’s sounds like he’s trying to find a way to accept what’s happened. He knows this is his fault, he knows he caused the downfall. But all he can do is accept it. Nothing else he can do now but accept he’s caused this
Let me know what ya’ll think
Uhhh 10:06 was just an absurd bleep sound it scared the fuck out of me
2:56 Regarding the comment on screen, there could be a few reasons.
It was really easy for me to understand Willy. So many people have gone that route or could have. I blame the people who bully and abuse others.
so happy i found this chanel
i loved mel. she was a great character you wanted to see be happy.
No this relationship was fine. It's his other one that was toxic and harmful to the both of them. His relationship with Dana was nothing but a cycle of him constantly hurting her. It had to end and he needed to be with someone who could live his life with him.
14:37 I haven't been paying much attention to the news lately, what happened?
Right there with you, just as confused cuz I got enough going on in my life that I haven't got time to watch the news much
I still hace no idea what he is talking about
Honestly while I loved the story of Maelanie and Terry and wish they ended up together, you can't blame her for choosing her family in the end.
If Warren McGinnis is still alive, he'll beat the crap out of Willie's father.
If Warren McGinnis never died to Blight and The Joker Gang then he absolutely would've kicked Willie's father's ass.
Gonna hit the gym but when I get back will backtest to this
2:49 Melanie was just too obvious😂
The saddest love story was Robin and the Clayface Girl
I still ship them
I just finished watching because the memories .
I like him with Max a lot more, realistically. But him and Melanie were great.
Something about Melanie’s costume that I noticed is that half of it is black and half is white. The black half represents the part of her that wants to be with Terry/Batman. The white half is the part that wants to stay with the Royal Flush Gang.
Watchtower database reference. We up.
The dad didn't learn a lesson, but he had a moment where he was proud of his son despite what he's done
Ten is definitely a 10.
These shows definitely helped me develop my moral center. Helping others, not judging, being willing to receive support, and also terrible relationship problems 😂 hahaha No I'm jking. But truly, these Batman shows were always fantastic and I did take away a lot internally.
nice video m8
I always love Terry & Melanie gives me Bruce and selina vibes except one went straight and the other one still steals
Yuhhh more Batman Beyond & x-men vids ! 🔥 🔥
The channel Implictly Pretentious put it the best -- Bruce Wayne *was* Batman. Batman is Terry's *job.*
Melanie and Terry was a better pairing than him and Dana. They should have worked as a way of further showing that terry was going down a different path that Bruce never could.
100% agreed. They are both different people and Terry could have done things different in being successful in a relationship, succeeding where Bruce failed at.
Really gptta balancr those audio levels out
I remember really liking the episode with melanie and terry, not exactly knowing why cause i was a very young kid when i watched batman beyond.
I always had a hope than Melanie would redeem herself and become the new Spoiler.
She did redeem herself. She stopped being a criminal. From what I have heard about the comics, she is partnered in helping out Terry and Bruce Wayne. I think Melanie and Terry are dating in the comics.
@@cainabel6356 Yeah. But the whole Joining Batfamily thing would be cool too.
Every Batman has to have a catwoman.
Melanie turned away from crime, while Selina went back to it.
Also, the writers did Selina and Bruce dirty. They could have had a relationship, working together and a life after that. They just did not want that becuase they want Batman's life to be dark and hopeless for him, which I think is a mistake.
Will always prefer Terry and Melanie was never a Dana fan
Like the content, but the ads every 60 seconds almost made me click off. If you’re gonna use those maybe try placing them at chapter breaks or between paragraphs in your script?
Good evening 🌃. I'm fan Melanie walker♥️♦️♠️♣️ and Terry and batman beyond series and batman the animated series and justice league the animated series and justice league unlimted series. Everyone have great day and next day and week and weekend and next week and full happiness 😊😊😊😊😊😊. Great video and keep make more great videos 😊😊😊😊😊.
Dana was a snooze fest
Max was the better one to have the relationship, she complimented Terry better
I’m confused, whatever happened to Dana!?
She ended up still there. If you watched Jsutice League Unlimited you will see what happened. Supposedly Dana and Terry get together. Dana, knowing Terry is Batman. Still did not like that ending.
Also I love the subtle joke that Melanie is 10 because she’s a 10/10 👀
Shields Meadow
Them retconning Batman beyond so Terry is a clone of Bruce Wayne was stupid as hell. This show was amazing. But anything that happened after the show ended I pretend doesn’t exist.
The difference between Bruce and Terry is that Bruce is Batman. That is, Batman is the real persona and Bruce is the mask. That’s not the case with Terry.
What happened weeks ago?
Not to steal an idea but I can’t find it, there’s someone in the comments here who said Melanie would’ve been a great contender for a batgirl beyond.
I. Fuckin. Love. Everything about that idea.
Like in the vein that she would use her criminal know how to be a sorta cat woman figure
*Why did you censor one curse word but you didn't censor the rest of them in your video??*
Melanie was in there for only 1 episode and she was far superior to Dana.
What's he talking about at the end was there another sch**l sh**ting in america im unaware of?
Edit:yep I just checked and there was one like 10 days ago
Well Terry is Bruce's clone so its kinda in his blood so to speak.
I liked 10 better that Terry's girlfriend lol
Yeah, Melanie was far better than Dana.
Terry was basically Peter Parker, living the double life and having trouble living those lifes. Bruce was Batman since age 10. That's just who he is.
I have no idea what real life thing that recently happened that cause you delay this video.
1st
Dude, don't burn before you record. you almost put me to sleep.
10 is so bad bruh
I Understand Fully My Adopted Parents Have Never Seen My Side Only There Own They Never Ever Gave A Damn About Me
Tbh, I support Willy and don’t get why all these video essayists say that “muh violence bad”. Violence DOES work. You just expect people to do whatever they want to you? Doesn’t even help that schools punish both people in a fight regardless of who started it. So you get bullied by the institution and the individual. No wonder kids want to go pew pew on schools
2:54 it was made for teenagers, not kids.
If they dont get to be people until they are of age, then yes the parents are entirely responsible, and thus accountable, for their child's actions as their legal owner (even if we dont use that word in polite society)
But the legality of why it is that way aside - nobody said the kid was blameless, the dude asked how much of the blame should fall upon the father's shoulders. How much of this is his son being broken, and how much of this was learned behavior from observing how his dad lives.
