Best guide to Nef 10man, very well explained and edited. This video def. helped us get our first Nef kill, the advice to push to p3 to train p3 was really good. Funnily enough we actually got our first kill at such an attempt, which surprised all of us. Our intent was to just for the add tank to practise, but when we reached 20% we just kept going, and when we survived the last crackle we knew we had it even though our healers were running on fumes at that point. Thanks for this amazing video!
Great video and strat. Skipping the crackle on phase 2 made life so much easier on the healers, especially in regards to mana conservation for phase 3.
@Nyhmpwnes If you're referring to Zeb's PoV, he's using a complete UI replacement from Tukui.org, specifically Elv's edit of the UI. They're both using VuhDo raid frames. I'm not sure what Nil is using for the rest of his UI.
@thorleif81 Definitely. When we made the video there were issues with certain spells in the pit; effects such as Ring of Frost wouldn't work. They've since fixed that and it's much easier to deal with by even a single mage.
@Racionen I believe our tanks did, at least. Huge for occasions when an Electrocute lines up with a breath. Some of our DPS may have used it while learning the fight, which isn't a bad idea at all. I'd only caution healers against using it; you generally have enough self-saving ability and you'll want those trinket slots for regen/throughput.
when i came into a raid that had already downed this boss i was told to watch this vid as opposed to others... great vid and woot silverhand represent!
@KevorkienMD We haven't yet, no. So far this is the one fight that we thought a lot of how-to videos got wrong. We do have some other fights we're talking about editing down, but need more footage. We may not have much until Firelands, though.
@valethalas Mostly from scratch in Adobe After Effects. Also used the Particular plugin quite a bit, as well as some stock footage for the blood spatter and audio mix.
This has very little views compared to how good it is. I thought it was the best guide I've seen for Nefarian, excellent step-by-step and not alá tankspot where they tell you what the grandfather of the boss had as abilities.
@revelinabandon This is mostly because two tanks come closer to the damage output of one DPS. So if you're going to have an extra on a platform, it worked well to have a DPS and both tanks on the platform with me, since I can beacon one and keep everyone topped off pretty easily. We've since switched to 25 man raids for heroic Nef, but we did the same with the "Keeping it in the Family" achievement last night on 10 and it worked incredibly well.
@viciouspen Perhaps a bit. At the time, other guides were making it a bit more complicated than it needed to be, beyond just phrasing, and it was a little frustrating when we got in there and realized it.
the p1 adds are very easy taken by just a frost dk and a mage, i pick then up and gather them, use icebound when i stand a bit still to get then in one small pack and then freeze them, about 5 sec before my freeze goes out a mage does ring of frost on them and frost nova when it wears of, then they should be down
@Clayman1911 OK. I've never actually seen RP on Silver Hand, but it is a pretty laid-back server full of people who either don't take the game seriously (though we did make 13/13 on two raid nights per week average) or, honestly, don't know how to.
Thurough, but I have to be honest, came off as you going out of your way to try and make it sound like you are original when you're saying what other guides did, just different phrasing mostly . Things like "oh other guides say it's kiting, but it's not, now go kite those things", and "other guides say it's a soft enrage timer, but it's not, now here's an enrage timer, is just splitting hairs. It's a good guide, but the whole calling other guides out during yours seems a little immature.
It's so disappointing you guys never continued making videos... the best walkthrough of a fight I've ever seen

Nice work TWC. Really enjoyed reading the side guild chat as well.

amazing walkthrough. best i've seen so far for this fight.
good job!

incredibly well explained and easy to follow walkthrough, would love to see more how to vids from you guys -- A+ job here - subscribed!

This video was beautifully made and incredibly helpful.
incredibly well explained and easy to follow walkthrough - keep it up!
Great walk through. Most helpful one I've seen. Should do one for Al'akir or cho'gall next!
This is a great video! Our guild has been struggling with other strats and this one basically just seemed to click.
My GM demanded we watch this one instead of any of there vids :D! great job guys make more in the future!
This is excellent. Do you guys have any plans on covering all the Fireland raid encounters coming the next patch?

@GiObOii A kite "tank" preferably. What that means is it can be any class that is very good at kiting. So frost dk, mage, etc...
@viciouspen Perhaps a bit. At the time, other guides were making it a bit more complicated than it needed to be, beyond just phrasing, and it was a little frustrating when we got in there and realized it.
Congratulations to TWC from De Oppresso Liber.

Definitly recommending this to my guild once we get there. Incision @ Fenris

@Grievousig101 Any DPS with some add control works great for P1.
You'll be fine. They nerfed this into the ground so hard in 4.2.
I have a question, during phase 1, if 1 tank is tanking Ony, and when Nef comes down the other tank tanks him, then who is tanking the skeletons?
really great guys ive been stuck on this boss for 3 weeks now hopefully this will get us the know how to down him
@trekvdm Thanks! We'd like to. Any requests?
@netherdark Looks like Power Auras. I'll ask him.
do you guys have any other vidoes from your guild, but perhaps under a different youtube name?
What is that mod with the green timer during the druid POV?
really good video and good tips
@twoadaysthere It's so unfortunate that they fixed that trinket. :(
nice intro how did u make it ?
@acathode Hah, awesome! Thanks and grats on your kill.
@iusetoplaystarcraft Yeah, I'm pro like that. =/
I can always blame the main tank, right?
TWC 4 LIFE!

Great explained :D thanks
Soooo Goood, New tankspot !!!!
