    I am a Christian who admires the faith of my LORD. You demonstrate the highest calling in religious life, to love your family and friends and neighbors thoroughly, proving it through food prep to presentation, all while being obedient to the Torah, the eternal Word of God. I’m 62. My children are grown. I wish I had learned sooner the important lesson of being a good Christian mother, to emulate religious Jewish matriarchs … Mary was one such woman.

    I love your videos. I am in my conversion process, under the Reform movement...you and others...make me realize that I want more, and may need to visit with a more Orthodox Rabbi.

    • @advagrinberg551
      @advagrinberg551 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry but reformers are not considered Jews. Simply put, because there is no reform in Judaism. The Torah is an eternal truth that will always correspond to reality and there is no need (and no permission from Heaven) to change or modify it.
      So if you really want to be Jewish, you should find out about Orthodox conversion.

    Great job as always. Some helpful tips: when boiling the beets, place them in a bag and boil with the bag. Less mess and easy cleaning.
    Oshsvo: much smaller pot and only 1 cup of rice will go a long way. Try that. I do that for our family of 7 or even when we have company. Shabbat miracles.

    Hello Dear Sonya!
    I wanted to send a quick note to tell you again how much I enjoy your videos! I live alone (senior citizen) but love to learn things from you and since I could never eat meals of this size, I share most of the food with my 4 married children and my 16 grandchildren ❤. Many thanks for all of the time you spend preparing all of this to share with us!
    Also, I've noticed you have used 2 different kitchen stand mixers, one in the past was a kenwood, and now I see a new one (how fun!) that is a Cuisinart in bright Robin Egg Blue. I would like a new one, and I'm curious if you have a favorite. Thank you so much!

    When making oxtails, fry oil and a bit of sugar in your pan, once the sugar browns, add your oxtails. This will add color to the oxtails. After the oxtails obtain color from the sugar you can add your vegetables and water.

    My sons and I really enjoy watching your videos and your channel is really unique because you and your family are! I have a question for you on how you raise your kids and interact with them as their mom. What do you do when your kids don’t listen to you? How do you encourage them to do what you ask? Is this something you struggle with in your home in regards to listening? I would like to have a more consistently peaceful home and I’m trying to learn how I should be and interact with my children when they are disobedient. What are your tricks and tools? My children are young. Thanks!

    • @SonyasPrep
      @SonyasPrep  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think your question and the desire to have a more peaceful home with angelic children is one that everyone dreams of. If someone says that their kids are perfect and always listen, I would have a very hard time believing them. With that said, my kids are like any other kids. They have their ups and downs, with days that they listen and behave , and days that I would give them away for free lol😆.
      I learned that my reactions and interactions with them strongly affect how they react and act in the home. On the days when things are stressful and tempers are short the kids will behave in the same way.... So at the end of the day I learned that the only way I can change my kids is by changing myself first. Concentrating on speaking nicely, mirroring positive behaviors and good speech. Explaining boundaries and rules and enforcing them are huge, which lets them know that you mean business and they can't get away with being rude...
      Im still a newbie, and just do my best. I am still learning and will most probably continue learning as my kids are parents themselves 🙌

    • @BooklandU
      @BooklandU 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SonyasPrep thank you for your thoughtful response. It was very encouraging to me. Yesterday was one of those days were I might have given them away for free at certain times in the day 🤣 you made a very good point about how I have to control myself first so that I can influence the peace I want in my home. It’s sometimes very difficult and I struggle with pacing myself with the energy that I have throughout any given week. Yesterday was probably a little exceptional since we just got back from camping over Labor Day weekend 😂
      Thank you again and God bless you and your family. God is using your videos in my life to help me learn skills I never learned (cleaning, organizing, managing family, hosting). And I find them very encouraging. Oh, and watching you and your family has influenced me to start working with my children to learn Hebrew. I’m a Christian, but have always been interested in languages so we’re practicing bits of Latin, Hebrew, and Spanish. I’m just beginning homeschooling my 5yo (the oldest) and we are still learning to put the whole Aleph-Bet to each letter, but we’ve got the song down 🤣❤️

      I used to do my weekly produce shopping at a locally owned store over by my sons' school in the hour between the time they each got out. When I would get home, I would go ahead and wash and prep everything as much as I could. I would throw all the scraps into my stock pot and add water and make a veggie stock then cool and freeze. The store always had a great selection of marked down produce and I would stock up on whatever was available and plan my meals accordingly and freeze whatever I wasn't going to use right away.
      I would always plan my produce shopping day when I would have at least 30 min to an hour to tackle the job and had supper already prepared. It saved SO much time doing it all at once, with just once mess to deal with.

    Gorgeous food and that babka! 🤤 I am so impressed that your daughter put the chocolate chips on the dough, not in her mouth. I still haven’t quite mastered that and I’m grown. 😂 Fantastic tip for the guacamole; I will definitely try it.
