I'm not Jewish, so we don't have as many large dinners as you folks have. I have to say how impressed I am, not only with the delicious menus you prepare, but also the large array of beautiful serving dishes you own. You set a lovely table Sonya! Thanks for sharing your family meal preps with all of us.

I am a Christian who admires the faith of my LORD. You demonstrate the highest calling in religious life, to love your family and friends and neighbors thoroughly, proving it through food prep to presentation, all while being obedient to the Torah, the eternal Word of God. I’m 62. My children are grown. I wish I had learned sooner the important lesson of being a good Christian mother, to emulate religious Jewish matriarchs … Mary was one such woman.

Sonya, you are truly inspirational. Growing up my parents didnt really do shabbat the proper way and after having my kids I told myself I will start doing it the correct way. I am watching your videos and learning so much from you. From how to have a kosher kitchen , to making delicious meals and most importantly I am finally learning how to prepare for shabbat. Thank you for making these videos and editing them and posting them..you must be so busy with working and children , mom life work life and you still have the chance to educate others . May you be blessed by Hashem

Grazie Sonia.

I too am not Jewish. So my Shabat is on Sunday. Even so, you are such a devout Jew that I knew I could learn from you how to prepare better for that sacred day. I watched more than one Shabbat prep. What I found is pre-cooking menus is only one of many things I could do to prepare better gor Sabbath.

You made the Babka look so easy. Everything looks delicious. What heavenly smells your home must have. I think your children are so sweet and look so cheerful when helping with chores. I've seen another vlogger use onion peel in her soup. She saves all her scraps like carrot ends, onion peels, celery scraps etc. She keeps them in her freezer and uses them for her soup stock. The broth, like yours, comes out so rich looking. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes.

I used to do my weekly produce shopping at a locally owned store over by my sons' school in the hour between the time they each got out. When I would get home, I would go ahead and wash and prep everything as much as I could. I would throw all the scraps into my stock pot and add water and make a veggie stock then cool and freeze. The store always had a great selection of marked down produce and I would stock up on whatever was available and plan my meals accordingly and freeze whatever I wasn't going to use right away.
I would always plan my produce shopping day when I would have at least 30 min to an hour to tackle the job and had supper already prepared. It saved SO much time doing it all at once, with just once mess to deal with.

    • @advagrinberg551
      @advagrinberg551 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sorry but reformers are not considered Jews. Simply put, because there is no reform in Judaism. The Torah is an eternal truth that will always correspond to reality and there is no need (and no permission from Heaven) to change or modify it.
So if you really want to be Jewish, you should find out about Orthodox conversion.

Great job as always. Some helpful tips: when boiling the beets, place them in a bag and boil with the bag. Less mess and easy cleaning.
Oshsvo: much smaller pot and only 1 cup of rice will go a long way. Try that. I do that for our family of 7 or even when we have company. Shabbat miracles.

Back when I was growing up in the 60s, big family dinners were the norm. My step-grandfather on my mom's side was a Jewish man; we called him Pop. When we live in Manhattan, we had many Orthodox Jews and we shared many traditions. My mom had lovely service pieces for when the family would come for Sunday dinners. Wish I still had them!

I don't know where you find the time, but then again, you are still very young and When I think about it, I did much of what you do while a young working, married and single mom and I worked crazy over night hours!

Gorgeous food and that babka! 🤤 I am so impressed that your daughter put the chocolate chips on the dough, not in her mouth. I still haven’t quite mastered that and I’m grown. 😂 Fantastic tip for the guacamole; I will definitely try it.

I really like when you show marinade ingredients and how much when you make your meals. Easier to copy for me lol. But I enjoy your recipes so much! Thumbs up! Please keep the videos coming

    Hello Dear Sonya!
I wanted to send a quick note to tell you again how much I enjoy your videos! I live alone (senior citizen) but love to learn things from you and since I could never eat meals of this size, I share most of the food with my 4 married children and my 16 grandchildren ❤. Many thanks for all of the time you spend preparing all of this to share with us!
Also, I've noticed you have used 2 different kitchen stand mixers, one in the past was a kenwood, and now I see a new one (how fun!) that is a Cuisinart in bright Robin Egg Blue. I would like a new one, and I'm curious if you have a favorite. Thank you so much!

I got many invites to Jewish friends' homes for Shabbat.
The fish course, sometimes as a soup and the Challah were the best.

Hello Sonia, your routine and dishes are very similar to Iraqi-Babylonian food. We use dates, plums, apricots, and pomegranate molasses for seasoning, and baking in a clay oven with palm fronds is very delicious. The Persians, Kurds, Turkmens, and Arabs have taken to our food because it is delicious. Greetings.
