Lots of valuable information. I had a Good Friend who was a rabbit hunter and All around sportsman. Tim Emory . Lived in Granville CO . Passed away 2 years ago at 60 . Spent a lot of days on the water and in the field with him . Loved the Video. Look forward to your next one !
Nice. My Dad and uncle hunted rabbits 🐇 when I was little. I love the way you explaine so much. I don't hunt rabbit but get lot of enjoyment watching ur dogs run. You have a great pack for sure 👍
Trixie is a very loyal beagle. It makes me sad a few got shocked, I am sure they are fine though. I truly love my beagles. Best dogs I ever had. Also, the loudest 🤣
The dogs normally respond well to the tone button but normally we only shock on 3 when we have to and I can hold it in the palm of my hand during stimulation .
@@wildlifeadventures-13 I didn't mean the collar. I was actually talking about the fence lol! In the vid you said they took a zap from the fence lol! I do have one quick question though. In your experience with beagles, do you feel that people who hunt them treat them well? Not being rude or accusatory at all! There is a debate in some beagles grps I am in. I am more of a mind that fish swim, and beagles hunt, and they are damn good at it. People who don't understand the breed, see them hunt and don't understand that they are so happy to be at work. They think they aren't 'being taken care of'.
Hello can you help me how to train a 7 month old Beagle on a rabbit how to encourage him to chase him and to be a good hunter thank you and greetings from Bosnia
You can put him with a dog already running a rabbit and he should break, you could catch some rabbits in a rabbit box and let them loose so he can see the rabbit and learn the smell , if that's not possible get out in the woods and help him jump a rabbit and let him get use to the smell . It may take quite a few trips doing that if you don't have a broke dog. some dog break very easy and some it just takes longer .
Just found your channel. So happy I did!!! We’re bringing home our first family dog next week and plan on hunting him in the future years to come. I’ll send some pics when we bring him home. Would love to hear what you like to feed your dogs. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
I feed mine Purina dog chow. when hunting season is in, I get the one with higher Protein in it. Diamond makes a good dog food its probably the best dog food just before getting into the real expensive dog foods. but its around 30 per bag . I look forward to receiving the pictures .
just stating my own opinion.. i like hot days, not too many people are hunting usually, rabbits are lazy. but from my experience if we get one up, that rabbit is going to swear a bit more making a pretty dang good trail. I've had one of my longest runs which was about an hour 10. not saying i havent had a long trail in late season when its cold here in PA, but idk if they actually sweat but something happens i think haha. gotta keep a lot of water around and know where them creeks are to keep'm cool & hydrated. im interested to know what anyones thoughts are on this.
before we go hunting i try and look at the dew point. It has been my experience that as long as the dew point is above 15 you have a better smell day or more moisture on the ground helps the dogs smell the track better .
Great video! I'm new to the sport and have a 10 month old beagle that loves rabbits but will not listen. Do you have e-collars on all your dogs and do you yard train your pups to come with e-collar before taking them out hunting. My dog ran on me for 3 hours while hunting last weekend. Very frustrating.
Get you a e-collar it will help with training the dog not to run trash . You will use the tone button much more than the shock button . If I'm calling my dogs and hit the tone (Which beeps) they come on fairly quickly . Check out my newest video ,I go over some of that . I'm working on it now should have it out by tomorrow . Thanks.
any good places to hunt with rabbit dogs in south carolina been trying to find places to go only places can find to go is wma land but my friend does not want to go on those lands because there deer hunting and dont want to get shot
i own a beagle.. but when she gets on a trail.. i dont refer to her sounding like a bunch of wild "INDIANS"... I'm Native american and think you need to check yourself.
Sorry you found that offensive !! It is never my intentions to offend anyone . I myself have Native American blood on both my dad and moms side of the family . Send me a picture of your beagle and I'll post it on one of my videos . wildlifeadv@outlook.com , Good Hunting .
If I was training puppies I'd cut that pack down to 4 dogs it's hard for a pup to smell the rabbit after 8 dogs have trampled over the track he ain't smelling nothing but the other dogs butts
Just got my first beagle I’m so excited!
i could listen to this all 24/7. such a beautiful thing.
awesome video, lots of good info. Thank you sir
Glad it helped.
I enjoyed your race 👍
Thanks,
