My pastor over twenty years ago broke down for me one of his sermons that made it much clearer when witnessing to an unbeliever. All you have to do to go to hell is just don’t love God and don’t love your neighbor or enemy and you will bust hell wide open . My pastor used Luke 16 19-31 The rich man Lazarus. We assume Lazarus went to the bosom of Abraham because he was good, but in reality he went to heaven because he did NOT HATE the rich man who stepped over him every day like he was trash. Instead he chose to forgive him. Jesus Christ is exactly who He says He is. He did exactly what He said He would. He forgives His enemies and prays for them like He forgave and prayed for the men who had Him crucified. “ Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will forgive your trespasses. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses against you, then your Heavenly Father will not forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15. The only way we will avoid the pits of hell is to love God and each other like we love ourselves and includes your enemies.
I had a weird dream last where Cliffe was there and we had a short conversation. I told Cliffe something like,”I want to do something just like you do” He responded with,”okay but you do understand that you’ll be persecuted and hated on?” And I responded,”I don’t care if I’m persecuted because that’s what I signed up for when I followed Christ” I don’t really know what that dream was all about but I was lucid and knew I was in a dream
I’m not a dream interpreter but it can be a calling to you to do what cliffe does. If it truly stays with you I think going to get biblical counsel would be the best option

I had a dream where cliffe was in it as well. The conversation we had was a blur but I do remember me adamantly wanting him to meet a family member of mine in hopes of him enlightening them and bringing them closer to God.

Cliff has helped me tons in clarifying the answers that there is in christianity. There can be times where you can't help but doubt for a second whether He's real or not. But the reason I believe in Him is because of my own experiences and how God showed me what He can do as a reliable God. Discovering Him at 14 is a blessing, definitely not easy, but thankful to be given the gift of salvation.

With Jesus you have many groups that see him at different times, even ones who do believe he was the son of God. The Anti-intellectualism In The christain community is very degrading In terms of creating strong believers in our youth. So many including myself can benefit from the challenges of critical thought that cliffe poses. The whole reason the gospel spread so fast across the Roman empire is because of a strong tradition of oral histories being memorized and told. One of the big parts of why we are seeing the falling away is the lack of families showing and explaining the best way. Wouldn't the bias come in if they were translated by man of faith... as may might have had more incentive to make it look and feel more appealing. Jesus reflected God perfectly. No person in this world could do that. Because we are all sinners. Jesus never sinned . Not one of us could live the life that Jesus lived for His 33 years on earth. Not one of us could have endured or gone through what Jesus went through when He was being persecuted, whipped, flogged, and being nailed to the cross. Jesus is the true hero for the whole world. Without Him there would be no way to heaven. The bible says were to have a child like faith. Mountains can be moved, even if you have faith the size of a mustard seed. Jesus loves us all. So so much. All He asks is to believe and trust in Him.
Religion provides: an escape from death, a friendship with an all-powerful being, and ultimate justice/vengeance for evil done in this life. How can any other ideology compete with that?

For instance, I need to go call a friend of mine right here and there and it has been 2 weeks we haven't talked. However, I do try to keep my relationship with God healthy, by praying, keeping his commandment, reading his word and continuously repenting. In my opinion, the relationship I have with God is very far from what Jesus had with the Father, but I'm not ashamed to say I am a work in progress. How is your relationship going as of now?

Cliffe says "the only reason people are going to Hell is because they reject the opportunity that God gives them for redemption", so, if I truly reject this whole concept of somebody else being tortured and killed for my own wrongdoings.. which seems immoral to me, far more moral to accept we've made mistakes and hurt other people, and to ask *them* for forgiveness, they can either say "ok, I accept your apology, or not accept it, .. if they don't accept it, we carry that burden, and it gives us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes, and to endeavour to do better, .. we're all fallible human beings and we're all going to make mistakes in life, regardless of whether you're a Christian, Muslim, Atheist or whatever. My wrongdoings belong to me, they are my own burden to deal with and no one else's. it's up to me to ask the person I've wronged, either way, whether they forgive me or not, I get the chance to learn from my mistake. Life is a learning process. I can't think of any misdemeanour in anyone's life that would deserve spending eternity in Hell, with no chance of redemption. If you ask a Christian what Hell is, you will get a plethora of answers, from literal eternal torture, to 'an absence of God' which sounds like 'nothingness' .. that is fine by me, I will be in the same state I was in before my parents had sex that created me, before that, I did not exist in any form for billions of years.
How long Hell is meant to last is in itself another unresolved schism within Christianity, Tom. You probably know that there are some Christians, like The Seventh Day Adventists for example, who don't believe that Hell is eternal (this idea is better known as Annihilationism). Whereas the Pentecostal denomination (the one I used to belong to) and many others, generally speaking go along with the concept of eternal torture in Hell. All I can say about this is even IF I were to put my Christian hat back on, I would still have to do a Cliffe Knechtle on it and admit that this is another great big 'I DO NOT KNOW' for me. If the Christian God really does exist then only he would know the answer to this for definite, so even though they won't say it, the reality is that Chrisitans are just guessing, based on how they interpret the Bible. None of them can know for sure unless God has directly spoken to them but even then, even if they were convinced that God had spoken to them and confirmed what the truth is about Hell, they would then need to prove to other Christians and everyone interested that God really has spoken to them, as anyone could make the claim that 'God has spoken to them' etc and in many cases they might even truly believe it themselves but that still doesn't necessarily mean God really spoke to them. They could have just imagined it.

Jesus did say I am the way the truth and the life no man comes unto the father except by me, this is correct also means any man regardless of any religion can come to the father. Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation. He paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation. This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

No, he disagrees with what you believe about biblical historicity. There are plenty of atheistic and agnostic historians who agree with Cliffe on almost everything.

My pastor over twenty years ago broke down for me one of his sermons that made it much clearer when witnessing to an unbeliever. All you have to do to go to hell is just don’t love God and don’t love your neighbor or enemy and you will bust hell wide open . My pastor used Luke 16 19-31 The rich man Lazarus. We assume Lazarus went to the bosom of Abraham because he was good, but in reality he went to heaven because he did NOT HATE the rich man who stepped over him every day like he was trash. Instead he chose to forgive him. Jesus Christ is exactly who He says He is. He did exactly what He said He would. He forgives His enemies and prays for them like He forgave and prayed for the men who had Him crucified. “ Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will forgive your trespasses. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses against you, then your Heavenly Father will not forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15. The only way we will avoid the pits of hell is to love God and each other like we love ourselves and includes your enemies.

With Jesus you have many groups that see him at different times, even ones who do believe he was the son of God. So many including myself can benefit from the challenges of critical thought that cliffe poses. For instance, I need to go call a friend of mine right here and there and it has been 2 weeks we haven't talked.
However, I do try to keep my relationship with God healthy, by praying, keeping his commandment, reading his word and continuously repenting. In my opinion, the relationship I have with God is very far from what Jesus had with the Father, but I'm not ashamed to say I am a work in progress.

Cliffe says "the only reason people are going to Hell is because they reject the opportunity that God gives them for redemption", so, if I truly reject this whole concept of somebody else being tortured and killed for my own wrongdoings.. which seems immoral to me, far more moral to accept we've made mistakes and hurt other people, and to ask *them* for forgiveness, they can either say "ok, I accept your apology, or not accept it, .. if they don't accept it, we carry that burden, and it gives us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes, and to endeavour to do better, .. we're all fallible human beings and we're all going to make mistakes in life, regardless of whether you're a Christian, Muslim, Atheist or whatever. My wrongdoings belong to me, they are my own burden to deal with and no one else's. it's up to me to ask the person I've wronged, either way, whether they forgive me or not, I get the chance to learn from my mistake. Life is a learning process.
I can't think of any misdemeanour in anyone's life that would deserve spending eternity in Hell, with no chance of redemption. If you ask a Christian what Hell is, you will get a plethora of answers, from literal eternal torture, to 'an absence of God' which sounds like 'nothingness' .. that is fine by me, I will be in the same state I was in before my parents had sex that created me, before that, I did not exist in any form for billions of years.
How long Hell is meant to last is in itself another unresolved schism within Christianity, Tom. You probably know that there are some Christians, like The Seventh Day Adventists for example, who don't believe that Hell is eternal (this idea is better known as Annihilationism). Whereas the Pentecostal denomination (the one I used to belong to) and many others, generally speaking go along with the concept of eternal torture in Hell.
All I can say about this is even IF I were to put my Christian hat back on, I would still have to do a Cliffe Knechtle on it and admit that this is another great big 'I DO NOT KNOW' for me. If the Christian God really does exist then only he would know the answer to this for definite, so even though they won't say it, the reality is that Chrisitans are just guessing, based on how they interpret the Bible.
None of them can know for sure unless God has directly spoken to them but even then, even if they were convinced that God had spoken to them and confirmed what the truth is about Hell, they would then need to prove to other Christians and everyone interested that God really has spoken to them, as anyone could make the claim that 'God has spoken to them' etc and in many cases they might even truly believe it themselves but that still doesn't necessarily mean God really spoke to them. They could have just imagined it.

Jesus did say I am the way the truth and the life no man comes unto the father except by me, this is correct also means any man regardless of any religion can come to the father. Why does it mean this? Because Jesus is just stating a fact about having his permission to come unto his father. This is not taken out of context. Jesus is saying we need his permission in order for the father to hear from us. Jesus is saying anybody is able to come unto the father because it is by Jesus permission only permission

But the sermons Jesus gave, the fact that he existed as a historical person, the fact that he died on a cross, these are agreed upon by historians regardless of religious affiliation. The most prominent non-believing scholar is Bart Ehrman. Now, he disagrees that the Gospels form a cohesive, unified narrative, but he agrees that these are different points of view from different people. He denies the supernatural aspects, in fact he says even if they did happen, we shouldn't believe it, which is the height of intellectual dishonesty. But again, aside from supernatural claims and the cohesion of the Gospels, Bart and Cliffe agree on a lot.
