Nice catch mate. I have managed a Redfin and a Rainbow trout in my Marron nets on a couple of occasions and was happy to keep the Reddy for a feed and return the Rainbow.

I thought I had good sized Cray fish. But even my large ones would swim right through those holes. I sewed trampoline Bering into my crap nets to make them work.

Hi Dennis, these are the double ring nets I just take the bottom hoop out and reduce the depth deliberately because I find it easier to use them off the bank like that. If all of my vraying was from a boat I would leave the bottom ring in. I just find they tangle more in their original condition.

Thanks mate. They are very similar to Murray cod they're more of an upland species that are tolerant of cooler water, but in many ways they are very similar and are so similar that they often hybridise.
I was down crayfishing at the Goulburn river in Murchison this opening and caught a yellow belly while pulling one up first time eve and probably last 😂
I never went fishing for crayfish, but crabs i used chicken legs for bait. Do you use chicken at all? It's pretty tough for them to tear up you might get longer sits

Try using a slice of beef hearts as bait clipped onto the net with a metal shower ring.

Use chicken necks for bait leave them out for a day to get skanky and it will attract lots of Crays it works on blue crabs too
