I caught a mixed bag fishing in the Ovens River

  • It's always great to catch a mixed bag of fish when fishing instead of the same fish all the time. Lately I have been catching a lot of carp, so it was great to hook onto something different, a Murray cod.
It wasn't a huge Murray cod, but it was a Murray cod and a welcome change of fish species for me.

Std..deluxe..new style middle style and old style. Lengths vary a bit from round 7 foot to 7 foot 8 inch or so. Love em!! The real old ones can be broken in the handle section under reel seat area. That bit is made of wood!! Glass starts under front corks..later hyperlon gripped versh shorter prob coz glass goes all the way thru handle

Anything up to a 4000. But 2500 is perfect

I reckon a 2500 size spinning reel would be ideal mate, with 6lb line. I habe a 1000 size with 4lb line but it is too light, hence having my line snapped.
