A part of me is sad that artists of this caliber don't get the recognition they deserve, but a bigger part of me is glad that these artists graced us with such wonderful music, spread the word, great music is out there!
I use to play this song with our band and I did the brass section with guitar chords. What a great jam, so energetic, jazzy, makes you want to dance and move.
When we had badd ass bands, what in the world happened to us? I saw them on the same show with The Manhattans at The Apollo Theatre and they rocked the house.
This was one of our pep band songs when I was in high school in the 80's. (I was a flutist.) It's such an awesome song, really gets the crowd moving. The metal heads, hip hop heads, EVERYONE moved to this when we played it!
Wow one of my favorite instrumental songs of all time, I remembered the song but I'd forgotten who did the song. Thank you for sharing this. I miss real R&B musician power. This was powerful. People to have the ear for instrumental R&B like they did in this era.
Como The Jacksons, Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, etc
@ Benjie...Same here with my band, back in the day...I played Bass...We had Sax and Trumpet (luckily)...Loved it! Saw them many times at The Sugar Shack (Boston, Mass.).....
Restart the Apollo program? That would be tough to do. Even harder is bringing back music of this kind. The components and the master integration. Let's figure out how the pyramids were made.
You will find the best of music in under-rated artists...good rate is just a marketing standard made by the mass, does not have real artistic value...Thanks a million for the posting!.
I'm 67 and I don't think my grand kids will get to see live bands like this , it was so many and so talented seems to gone

Back in the day when we had real bands with real instruments .

I just discovered after 46 years (in 2023) that MFSB’s version was a frickin’ cover???? And oh to have been there for this event that night!!
Didn’t know it was a cover from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack
45 years later and still kicks ass!
I totally agree
A great tune.

The Nite Liters were TIGHTER than an overstretched rubber band and FUNKIER than 10 day old chit'lins!
Straight outta "The 'Ville..." Louisville, KY USA!!
The trilling on the sax,WOW
Always loved this song! Damn, music just isn’t up to standard of early 1970s R&B.

Nite Liters and MFSB versions arranged by the great Bobby Martin
This band is the best so many people sampled this beat or tried to redo it.
Sounds like Sly meets santana?!?! Great band.....
Hooooo....Increíble!! siempre había escuchado la versión de MFSB y me gustaba, pero esta me encantó. Gracias por el video!
Black people, bring this style and intensity of music back and bury hip hop six feet under. It can be done.
