- In this video I go over in detail how to change the serpentine and A/C accessory belt on a Nissan 350Z (VQ35DE). Hopefully this helps you if you have a worn belt or some squeaking like I had.
This has got to be the best mechanic video I have ever seen. Not tons of wasted time showing us tools and unnecessary crap but just got right to it. No stupid irritating background music. Best one yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... thanks

I just completed my project. Took 45 minutes. This video was perfect. I had a quick squeal then went away. I tightened the tension on the belts and the squeal went away. Thanks man.

Random question mr. sir, how would one takeoff the AC tensioner pulley to replace it along with belt, only doing the ac side, need to change out acc pulley, which one of those bolts or both do it take off
I couldn't get the socket between the pully and the fan shroud, not enough space. Back on the ground and off to the store for a slimmer socket.
Still cheaper than having a shop do it. 🙂👍🏼

My 350z squeaks on cold start ups too and then goes away could it be my belt too ?
Could be your belts tension. It will shrink a little when its cold. Pry nothing to worry about but I am not a master mechanic. 🙃
What if I loosen the 12mm bolt under the main accessory tensioner too much where I can’t have enough tension when tighten. What do I do
Probably have a mechanic look at it if its not functioning appropriately. 😒🙃
I would always tighten the belt first unless the car has done high mileage in which case just change them out.

One other question-why would you need to loosen the holding nuts on the pulleys? I replaced the belts on mine quite a few years ago and don’t recall doing that.
That’s how you loosen the tension on the pulley.

You have to loosen the tensioner bolts to get the belt off. To tight otherwise.
Do you NEED the breaker bar or is it possible with just a normal socket wrench? great video!
No need for breaker bar. Just used it cause im a wimp.

Check your belt tension first. May just be loose or tight depending on climate.
You take the bumper off and work from underneath it ? Just wondering how I should get at it cause I need to replace my AC compressor clutch
I kept the bumper on and just removed the undercarriage plastic when I did it. 😊👍

I just tried to do this, there is absolutely no room to fit any tools, I’ll have to remove my fan!!! Anyone know why this would be happening? It’s pissing me off!
You are the first person I have heard of having problems doing it. Stock radiator and fans on your Z or G?
@@therealjessescheel 350z idk why but yea it’s all stock😂 and for some reason it just won’t fit, I guess I’ll go out and get all 3/8 in tools, but idk if those will even fit.
Did you have nonstop squeaking or did your car only squeal during a cold start? My 350 only squeals during the cold start but goes away completely after a few seconds and doesn’t squeal at all when it’s warmed up. Trying to figure out if I need a pulley somewhere or if I just need belts. Great video
Play with the tensioner. You can pry solve it without belts.

@@Luv-dq5th yes I changed my belts a few weeks ago and the squealing stopped. I figured it was the belts to begin with because a bad pully will constantly make noise whereas mine would only do it on a cold start. My belts were probably 7 years old so it was time. The hot dry summers in Vegas destroy anything rubber pretty quick.

Play with the tension first. If its cold in your area it can tighten the belts.

I have the same noise but mine only makes it when I’m decelerating idk if I should replace the belt or maybe it’s something else?
I would say try messing with the tension first. Your belts may be a little loose if they’re squeaking on deceleration. Also make sure there’s no oil or grease on them.
