Every singers and entertainers voices go thru being horse from their schedule and being so busy and having to use their voice way more than what is healthy, but they don't get hated on like her because they never appreciate the performances that are so amazing! No one can compare to this women on her worst day then or now! Especially the past 3 -4 years her confidence is stronger and her nerves aren't as bad that if you catch her on a good day with the appropriate amount of rest, she could and impress any hater! She's treated unfairly for how talented she is and how deep some of her songs are! She's a legend❤💯
She seemed hesitant when she was talking about Tommy Motolla, sometimes I wonder if she was throwing out hints or sarcasm when she was like "And I wanna thank Tommy Motolla and Diana and the rest of the people at Sony...I know what you guys did and I appreciate what you do." I wonder if she knew there was some trickery going on around that time because it's clear that her and Tommy were divorced and their professional relationship was tarnishing and effecting her a bit.

You have set the world on fire trying 2 obtain that melodic style in a international TV show - "Idol" franchise! Listen to Mariah specifically when she holds out the notes like the “again” or the “iiiii still believe” and you can here how much older and thicker her tone sounds. It kind of makes sense that the Mariah now uses vibrato a lot less (she’s used it A LOT 2016 and 2017) today but her tone is so heavy now. When you’d hear 1990-1994 Mariah hit those same notes they were lighter, younger, and freer so vibrato and acrobatics came easy to her. 1995 and on was the start of her voice really maturing, right when she mastered her voice technically (which is why she went for so many notes, but also why 1996 she started getting really raspy at times, then 97, is when the vocal change set in). Regardless, bitch has always sounded noice.
I think not 1990 to 1996 but 1990-1992. Musicbox and Merry Christmas are the transitions. Daydream she sounds very girly and lighter and sing with different vocal style. 1990-1992 more gospelly
her voice just was tired and overworked which developed her nodules even more which made her voice sound thicker not because it matured. it matured around 2009-2011 around when she was pregnant and she was getting in her 40s. it happens with most of people's voices.
