Hi Dave! Last year I ordered seal kits for the third brake light and the backlights directly from X8R. This stuff is worth the money! And so much better than the original seals (which is a bit of a shame). The door seals on my red C1 are still good. But some wheel bearing makes “music”… Project C1 - also in South Germany. 🤗
I’m glad you like the kit! I was skeptical about it at first, but it really is a good kit. I’ve got wheel bearing noise too, I had it before I fit my spacers. I have the bearings to replace them, it’s on my to-do list.

Yeah, I realized that after installing it, I thought I’d put something in the edit to say so, I just have forgotten about that. Either way, it seems to have sealed anyway, so I’m ok with that.
The tailgate kit is really good, I do t think you’ll be disappointed by that; I certainly wasn’t. Takes a while for the seal to bed in, so closing the boot glass will be tight for a while, don’t slam it shut. Make sure you use the silicone on the rear bull head vents too, that bit was included in one of my old videos, not this one. I also hope you used the discount code too, i hate it when people pay full price for something needlessly!
@@DABDIY had a problem with the new seal as when I took the old seal off there's loads of silicone that is around the whole boot I tried putting the new seal on but one corner it keeps popping off what's the best way to get the old silicone off
Hi, have you found that these extra door seals helped? I'm getting water the same place you showed at 6:36 and trying to work out if it's the door seal itself or something else! Thanks
Yup, it’s worked a treat! The only other thing I could suggest is in my footwell leaks video and that’s the door card membrane. These degrade a lot, but are very easy to fix.

I bought same kit and my c1 is mark 2. Could not get boot closed I really didn't want to force and break glass. Also do u have video how to take high level light out ss there is a massive leak coming from mine
With the seals in the kit being new, they’re going to be a little large until they bed in, I had the same problem. Close the glass down, then carefully push it closed and the catch will close, no need to slam it. Yes, there’s a video on the Mk2 high level stop light on my channel, link below. X8R are currently in the process of designing a gasket kit for the Mk2, not available yet though. ive just bought a tail gate kit as i found water in my boot hopefully it will solve the problem and im getting some seals for the doors

@andrewrood9200 silicone should just peel off really. When I had to remove silicone, I used a plastic scraper to get under it, then it peeled off.
great little car, love mine. But the protective film of the paint on plastic parts after 10 years is bubbling and detaching... sone idea?

I don’t have a link for the plastic, I got it from a local supplier. The tape used is regular double sided tape.

Iant the door seal meant to go on the outer edge, where the gap would be when the doors closed?
It could do, yeah. It depends on what your main leak problem is, I used mine to bolster the main seal.

That’s the thing though, this car is one big learning opportunity for me. Now i know how I’d do it differently if I were ever to do it again.
