I think one of my favorite moments in MGS is when Gray Fox reveals that he killed Naomi's parents. It's such a bitter little secret, and I love how it's handled.
And Snake even covered for Fox and lied to Naomi that Fox told her to forget about him and live on (which is against what Fox actually told Snake to do). Despite that, it actually was the best outcome for Fox and Naomi
The outbreak segment of MGSV Phantom Pain was a real gut punch. You weren't simply taking out nameless allies. These are literally the soldiers that you have recruited yourself, the ones that increase your base's stats, the ones that were rank S and took you a good long while to get. They die and are dead for good. Not only that, but they went out horribly thanks to that virus. Whether it was the virus overtaking them or eating a bullet to end their suffering, it was not good. It was not one of those tear-jerking moments, but it was definitely disturbing af. Then when the shock of what you had to do is gone... you have to get more rank S soldiers again.
And it's these disturbing moments that have made the series that more better. Kojima is never scared to push the boundaries and include some disturbing content. I'm honestly glad each game got more graphic and included darker themes, made the story even better and you never knew what might be next. Those audio tapes of paz and chiko were totally unexpected
No "Big Boss" body reveal from MGS4 Act 3? Even knowing it's Solidus in the bag, it's still terrifying. Especially when you initially think it IS Big Boss and you see the character you came to love in MGS3 reduced to a living glob of half-melted flesh, as we thought was the case at the time, was genuinely horrifying.
To me, aside of Paz death, i found really disturbing the death of Dr Strangelove, it was too cruel and Huey wasn't really punished for it. Hate that guy.
Trying to rape her? The dude literally tried to drown her! Or did he want to rape her corpse? Edit: you are right: watching the scene right now, and I hear the soldier unzipping his pants. Gross!!!
That Rex's Lair tune when you revisit Shadow Moses in MGS4 just elevates it all. It just sounds like "The end is near" within the nostalgia of where it started. It's kinda sad.
I think we should seperate the (for the lack of a better description and also better English on my part) "GOOD Disturbing moments" from the "BAD Disturbing" ones. For the bad ones, I do mean stuff like Emma and Otacon's seemingly incestuous relationship, or how aggressively sexualised the BB Unit were after their defeat when I'm pretty sure we were supposed to be feeling sorry for them for their trauma, or worst of all, a side mission in Peace Walker where apperently Big Boss takes Paz out on a date . . . . . . . she's 16 at that time!
They should keep the series going and make a storyline following guns of the Patriots and have it so that drebin when he put the shot into snake made three more clones of solid snake lol and Meryl would be the surrogate
Is there a way to avoid/turn off the disturbing details about Paz being tortured in mgsv? My younger sibling wants to play that game but I know that would stuff would really bother her.

I’d say the most f**ked ones that come to mind are the fox slaughter hallway in mgs1, Otacons family history and pretty much all of MGSV: ground zero’s and Phantom pain so yeah not a game series for the easily squeamish 😂

Having to kill your own soldiers who were completely loyal to you was rather heartbreaking in Phantom Pain.

I like that kojima isn't afraid to put disturbing content in his games. Because alot of the horror in the game also happen in real life.
About Paz bomb, in SSBU her spirit grants the characters to have a bomb at the start of the match. Pretty dark for Nintendo.
