Bet your gonna add some extra bracing in the rear to protect those rear shocks for the next time you tip it. Couple extra tubes in the middle wouldn't hurt.
Yes you need fenders and an upgrade for the steering. You need different tires if you are running in mud. You might also get a trail jack and spare tire. The suspension needs to be stiffened up a bit as you were bottoming out quite a bit and likely it is worse with a second person in it.
Its the rebound setting on the rear shocks that are kicking the rear up. Also the engine and gas tank hanging out the back is actually making inertia to make it worse. 2 ways to resolve it more rebound and let it squat like a trophy truck or more compression so it does not squat and rebound back up @@ShotgunAU

5:21 A couple moments into the ride I can see the front suspension (at least so far) must be stiffened quite a bit. The front end is diving really bad. It’ll sacrifice some ride quality but that’s the cost of performance. 11:27 the front suspension helped cause the rollover. Hopefully you can rebuild the shock that was bent. You built a vehicle with doors but aren’t using them? If you paneled the doors and installed a windshield you’d take less mud in the face. For a heavy girl, she looks like a lot of fun.
@@Henrik.Yngvesson fair point. I had that issue on my side by side and installed a manual windshield wiper ($20 Amazon) and it worked great. I think your fender idea with decent door skins and possibly even upper door nets would help a lot.
For fenders you could always use plastic trailer fenders and just attach them so they travel with the suspension and you could make it so they are can be removed with pins need be.
This looks like a blast, but, yes, keep hands inside the bus!!!!! I know you want to keep weight down, but mount you an ammo box, it's got a clip to hold it shut!!!!
If your wanting to ride on some dunes and whoops without having to go all the way out-west, Little Sahara ORV park is located in north central OK. Would probably be a lot closer for you if your located in the eastern US.

That thing is very impressive. It does a great job of keeping the wheels on the ground until you bent the shock. (damn rock). Aside from the comments about keeping your hands on the wheel when rolling...try to remember to put it in a low gear before you tip it back over to prevent it from rolling over one of your friends. :)
Power Steering unit should be fine IF you add a steering multiplier of 1.5 or 2 between the steering wheel and the PSU. Also to get more torque with the same PSU you can move the steering linkage farther from the pivot and use a steering rack with more throw, will make the wheel need to turn over more times but hey the steering multiplier fixes that. Will be cool to see this fully built out with the missing body panels and Plexiglas windows front/rear. If you have some extra plexy after the windows maybe add it to the front triangles in the roof. Also would greatly reduce the mud your being covered in without fenders that don't fit with the look of the build.
Once you go beyond a certain length for a chain, it needs to be replaced by a drive line. Stop and think for a moment. You could have used a combination of chain and drive shaft and only had short chains.
I can't wait to checkout the dunes in Oklahoma at Little Sahara. Looks like a lot of fun. I live in Pennsylvania so it's a drive. Maybe next year. Going to Silver Lake in Michigan this summer and Busco Beach in October. See you there maybe
When we used to race Honda odyssey's we had special wrist restraints to prevent from trying to reach out when you roll. Its instinctive to try to catch yourself, but holding back 400lbs of weight will snap your wrists or get pined by the frame.
The box may have popped open because of the stuff in it jumping up and down (tools in particular) - maybe pack any empty space with blocks of foam in future. But boy, that looks like as much fun as you could have in a motor vehicle.
Since u seem to fancy the dual swing arm chain driven rear power trains sources.. I highly suggest looking into converting BMW street bike drive lines. U can cut in middle extend out to any length desired . The use drive shaft and universal sealed joint. No more chain binding etc.
Looks like awesome fun but, Power steering upgrades, mud guards front and back, and some sort of window net to keep your arms inside. Oh and new/rebuilt shocks 😂
Love the side and shock angle . But it looks like yah need to tighten the rebound in the rear think it would help. Love to see you driving these projects. Everything you build has been awesome
little tip when riding in the mud like around 6:00 try and follow the ruts instead of turning out of them, thatll help you get more speed and hopefully through the mud
You should come up to Missouri, we have a place up here called the loop 1 and loop 2. Its a huge offroad park that has all kinds of challenging trails and hills.

That's some pretty slimy mud that you were having to deal with. but the four wheel drive seemed to work really well. and the suspension worked much better than I expected. it seems a little more bulky than the other projects. but a person has to take into consideration. that it's quite a bit larger than the other projects. from what I noticed when you were driving it. that you could pretty easily get away with lowering the tire pressures by several PSI. and you could benefit in two ways. first it's would take some of the severe shock load out of the suspension. because the tires would absorb a great deal more of the shock load. that is being transmitted back up through the suspension into the chassis. and second the tires would release more of the mud from the tread. due to the tires flexing more. but be careful not get the tire pressures too low. so as to not pull a bead off a wheel. or might even opt for some bead locks. anyway over all it seemed to do really well. and you definitely gave it the full send. and it turned out to be an AWESOME success.
As you're going off of a jump.. Make sure you mash full throttle just before you go over it.. The spin of the wheels will cause the nose to want to raise--- so you won't dive down so harshly. You can creep up to the ramp at whatever speed--- but at the last 30 feet or so, you want to mash full throttle.
You can see that the front suspension sucks up the jumps a lot more than the rear. That is causing the front to launch at a lower height than the rear, making it nose dive.
That is sweet . I love street bike motors in buggy's . I had a Drakart long travel buggy w/ an r-1 motor . It was scary , so I sold it before I died . When your doing 80 mph in the whoops & you shift into 3 rd gear . Hey Oklahoma has sand dunes , nothing like we have in ca . Or Oregon . That mud is not my cup riding , I'll stick to sand & dusty desert 🌵
Looks like fun. If this was mine I would build hub mounted fenders otherwise the fenders would have to be really big to account for the suspension travel and keep the mud out of the drivers compartment.
You should skin out a ford ranger cab to put on there, and then get some fiberglass body panels. You’d be protected from major of mud and it would look like a proper trophy truck. Just an idea 😅
When in a bog hole like that with a 4WD, keep turning the steering hard left are right, it gets the tire sidewall ‘side-biters’ lugs on the sidewall of,the front wheels a chance to grip the edge of the bog wheel tracks. Can be the difference of getting out or winching out.
You build a badass rig? Yes, there's some little things you have to fix, but you know what watching this video turn out pretty badass I'll say one thing she put a little crossbar or a protected bar around those rear shocks just in case. If you do late sideways least you protect it more. But keep doing what you're good at. I enjoy the contact videos
You should really consider mounting that rear sway bar above somehow.....I imagine you can make it work.....also I would raise overall height about 2 or 3 inchs
Hey Chris, regarding what appears to be a front camera mount rod pointing in your direction when not in use, how about locating/removing it, just to know it won’t impale someone in a freak accident! Just some food for thought… Looks like you’re having fun in the mud! Replace the shock and keep moving forward 👍
not sure exactly where you are from, but you mentioned the closest thing you can get to dunes without going out west. if it is closer, Silver Lake MI is a perfect testing ground for dune vehicles and people bring full scale trophy trucks there all the time. worth a visit if you've never been anyway.
As others said, keep your hands on the wheel or bring them to your chest. About 25 years ago, I rolled my gokart at high-speed and snapped my wrist to the point the palm of my hand was touching my forearm.

Needs to turn up the rebound compression isnt bad but it has almost no rebound front sticks fully extend instantly

I went with industrial stainless steel chain from a conveyor system tough and rust free but it’s expensive

just flip the shock 180 and flip it again on the rock, should straighten it back out just cherry
