He left school with little or no qualifications and he has become a BAFTA award winning director of fantastic, heart warming real life dramas. He touches upon real life issues and subjects in his films and programs. Sometimes gritty and sad this is what makes him brilliant at what he does. Like the abuse story line with Lol, Kelly and their sister. Or Lols mental health issues because of her father was superbly done. Watching those scenes shows why Shane Meadows is a director. ☺☺😊😊

Agreed. Heart breaking film but one of my favourite British films ever. Powerful film amazing performance by paddy C too loved him from then on

But it isn't a question of income, you've missed the point so profoundly mate. He wants real people who've lived in these worlds, the whole fucking point of social realism is authenticity, not getting the highest paid fella who can walk the walk and talk the talk the best, but people who give these stories the texture and realism they need.
