Stanley Weiner has just the right style, technique, sound and quite obviously the love for these Sarasate dances. Very exiting to listen to and enjoyable indeed!

Encantador,grácil, chispeante, evocador,de sinuosos vuelos seductores, plenos de embrujo, garbo, salero, duende y desplante:desde el radiante sur, hasta el evanescence norte de una España de drama y ensueño...

Whenever this site introduces me to an unfamiliar violinist, I do try to find out a bit more. So, I see he was a composer as well, and wrote interesting pieces dedicated to virtually all of the great violinists of the 20th century. I love these pieces and particularly enjoyed one rarely heard, Adios Montanas mias. It was a particular delight. Of course he Weiner was a wonderful virtuoso. I particularly noted that in the zapateado his flying spiccato was truly sensational. Many virtuosi just play separate bows in that passage, but as far as I could tell this was all done on one bow. Thanks Hector for yet another fascinating new violin virtuoso!

Jota Navarra is not Op. 26-2, but is Op. 22-2. Op.26-2 is the all-too-rarely played Habanera (but no less brilliant than the much more known one).
Playera should be Spanish Dance No. 5.

The technic is there but the charm and sound are lacking
