    A Canadian magazine that I subscribe to is Uppercase. It’s so inspiring and a beautiful well crafted magazine. Thanks for the book reviews. I’ll have to order the Forest one

      Yes, I love Uppercase! I do have a few issues of that as well. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe I will mention it in the next book video so others can check it out. ☺️

    I’ve been going back and watching your videos after your most recent one showed up in my feed. Sometimes the algorithm gets things right 😂! I have the first two books in my collection so it’s nice to see another artist enjoying them. I’ve followed Terry and Genine for a long time and the folk art book is truly gorgeous! The story of the artist is very inspiring. It’s just so interesting that the artists who inspire you are the same ones who have inspired me! I have one of Flora’s other books but the one you showed is something I have to get. Thanks for another great video ❤️

    Great selection of books and I can see how they fit into a creative library. I love the different mediums used in the books you choose. I start out to B&N to specifically see what the latest Stampington is about. I always wind up buying one of the different category magazines. This is a great video, as informative as All your videos. Thanks for sharing.

    I feel like we'd be great friends, but sadly, I live as far away from you as I can get, while still being in Canada - Vancouver Island. Anyway, I have the Dinara book, and I LOVE Terry Runyan! I took some of her courses and just made cats out of watercolour. She's a great teacher, and I really like her attitude.
    I think you would love The Creature Garden by Harry and Zanna Goldhawk. When I need inspiration, I just open one of their pages and look for about 5 seconds. Then I have enough inspiration to fill my brain for days!!!

    These books are amazing! Thank you for sharing. Would you ever consider creating an oracle deck like Roxanne / ByBun?

    • @michellejozina
      @michellejozina  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s funny you should ask! I have had the idea for about a year now that it would be fun to create and oracle deck! I’m not familiar with the one you referenced but I will definitely check it out! I’m glad you enjoyed the book suggestions, thanks for watching! ❤️

      I’m in Hamilton, Ontario. Aren’t these magazines so inspiring! I think you should be able to get them at Indigo or Michael’s. I might have gotten some at Walmart but they don’t carry them on a regular basis. I hope you can find some!

    Imagine A Forest is based on eastern European folk art, it's not scandinavian. The artist author is from Uzbekistan. There are a lot of similarities but her art is based on art and stories from her family and culture.

    • @michellejozina
      @michellejozina  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are right! Thanks for the correction. 😊 I knew this but I don’t know why I said Scandinavian. I do love all folk type art and my brain always defaults to that. I definitely do not want to take away from the heritage of the artists beautiful work. Thanks! ❤️

      Her style is a very Soviet based of. It is not Scandinavian. Although the Northern nature is very similar. I think she is Russian.
