Thank you for sharing your story. Midlife… oh what a journey. Just hit my mid forties and wow, just the hormonal changes are a rollercoaster, throw in life happening, geesh. A little suggestion to take or leave, be as specific as possible in your niche. Perfect one subject, medium. This is how you get found and how you become known as an artist. Just how you mentioned Robert Bateman, he is synonymous with his wildlife works. The art market is SO saturated. The more you spread yourself out the further away you get from being found. You’re beautiful and very likeable. Wishing you great success!

I have been feeling a little disheartened for the last few days as I haven't heard from a mentorship program that I applied for two months ago, but I am still proud that I got an application in! I also say to myself that what is meant for me will be. Sometimes things don't work out the way we planned and that is okay. But it is okay to acknowledge that I did feel lost, disheartened and not sure where to go next. So I gave myself some time to pause, breathe, and regroup. We will get knocked down, but it's so important to get back on the horse and not give up. The approach I take with my youtube channel is that the right audience will find me. All I have to do is continue to be myself. Doors will open, and the worst thing I could have done is not try. Not sending in application would have been me already getting a no. Not starting a youtube channel would have also closed a door. So while I cant' control the outcome of that application I submitted, I can still be happy that I did submit it. And I can still be happy that I started my youtube channel. At least one opportunity I didn't have to wait on a yes from someone else.

Thank you Michelle, another great video. That was exactly what I needed to hear today as I’ve just made a decision to write a second book, starting I January. I’ve started the prep work, I’m manifesting creating a weekly 3 hour time block that fits easily within our day to day life so that it doesn’t become overwhelming and I’ll have the first draft ready in 18 months (I’ve got 27 Journals to go through 🤣) Will anyone read it? Who knows! But if it reaches that one person who resonates with it then my work will be done. My goal is to publish it in 2029, 10 years on since the first one. There we go, I’ve put it out there now 🤣 And there will be art too, that’s what keeps me grounded. We can all do this! Us mid-lifers are a force to be reckoned with!

I’ve currently got 402 subscribers and very small watch time because I haven’t been able to be consistent due to unplanned ill health which means I don’t have much energy left after my full time work, which I currently can’t even do full time. ❤❤ I enjoy your videos as they remind me to just keep going.

I just started!! I was stressing BIG time about sounding rediculous, but it helped a lot to accept that 'cringe' and roll with it.

I love this message of just getting started so much! I really feel that I need it. Although I have all of the materials that I need to watercolour, I don’t understand how to translate what I see in my imagination with what I see on paper. I spend a lot of time watching videos on youtube and instagram, trying to learn and understand how to paint. There are so many talented people out there and I love seeing everyone’s individual styles, no matter what medium they use. I dream of translating my landscape photography of the beautiful place that I live into even more gorgeous paintings that I can keep for myself and/or sell. Earlier this year my daughter and I were renovicted from our two bedroom home to a one bedroom apartment, that’s the same size as our former livingroom. It all happened so quickly, that my mind is focused on decluttering, cleaning and organizing. Although our former home was immaculate and everything had a place, without having any clutter, now because we have so much less space, my mind is constantly preoccupied with how to declutter what we have, instead of having any energy, focus or capacity for creativity. I’m starting to see the finish line though, so I truly hope in the next month or so, I have the energy for doing something creative in my life. Thanks for your videos!

I’m an artist, who like yourself, didn’t get much chance to create what I loved for about twenty years. After raising my lovely family, I realized I could take up painting again! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to paint, but as I kept working at it, I started to find my style and my passion! And I started my own TH-cam channel a few days ago!!
