    • @oldmodeltguy
      @oldmodeltguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s an adapter plate required and then some changes to make the valves guides line up, but it’s pretty doable. The MTFCI forum is the invaluable resource for details there

    Where those long push rods standard application options in the 28 engines? Also surprised that the grille is still there. Can’t find anything that old in Kansas with a grille without giving up a kidney.

    • @oldmodeltguy

    Super cool video I found what I thing is a model t hubcap metal detecting about 8 months back would it be possible to tell exactly what year it is

    • @oldmodeltguy
      @oldmodeltguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The changes in hubcaps can be subtle, so it might be hard to tell if it’s in poor condition. They were mostly all brass base, but then nickel plated over that, although some years they were just polished zink (1921-25).

  • @britishcolumbiariders1538
    @britishcolumbiariders1538 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Funny that they had aftermarket hubcaps back in the day that tried to knock off chevy ones.

    • @oldmodeltguy
      @oldmodeltguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s been a really strong aftermarket scene for just about as long as cars have existed. Maybe I should do a short video in the future looking at some early supply catalogs. There’s some weird stuff in them

    • @oldmodeltguy
      @oldmodeltguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Model A came right after the T. Ford considered it such a radical improvement the the started back at the bet on the alphabet rather just going with the next letter

    • @oldmodeltguy

      I think the Chevy engines are around 350# maybe (I moved them with a 2 wheel cart). That Lycoming engine is a monster, wouldn’t surprise me if is was in the 500-600 range.

      I'm guessing a complete engine is going to be around $800-ish (I think that's what I'm going to ask), but prices are probably going to vary quite a bit, depending on were you find it.
