You need to get an old bloke to show you how to crank a car. I watched in horror. How many arms have been broken this way. I only pull on the handle with thumb on same side as fingers.
The only really bad part is pushing down on the crank. Some prankster advanced the spark on me when he asked me to demonstrate hand crank start. The crank wasn't fully at the bottom & it kicked back & launched me 12 inches into the air. And bent my arm backwards. Made crunching noises & turned purple. Never been quite the same since.
