Oh, love how it makes use of free plugins that are updated frequently - Been wanting to get this working for awhile without paying for something like LinkTree!
Hello Andy, I wanted to follow your video instructions, however my version of WordPress and the Generate Blocks plugin are the latest, 2023. The settings do not corresponding with your video instructions at all. Generate Blocks settings are very different from your earlier version and I can not follow your instructions here. The setting options are completely different in Generate Blocks now.
@@MichaelKorman I went crazy trying to figure why I wasn't seeing what was in his video on my page and realized his plugin and WordPress versions are older. It's not usable now.
@@LarryKutcher I got some of it. Instead of Container, add a Button and then click "Add to Button Container". On the button container, under Layout, set Display to "Flex", Direction to "Column", Align Items to "stretch", Row Gap to 10 px. Under Spacing, set margin right and left both to "auto". Under Sizing, set Width to 400 px, Min Height to 100 vh.
@@MichaelKorman Thank you very much. I've been trying to figure out what to do for half an hour. All interfaces have changed. You are the savior. Thank.
Thanks for this! Just curious, do you have a recommended alternative for the Blank Slate plugin as it's not been updated in seven months nor been tested with the latest wp version?
Such a nice video! I just went back to wordpress after years without using it and had a total shock with 6.2. After a month using it, I'm starting to understand something..! I know the video is two years old, so I have the feeling things changed so much that now is possible to do what you teach without using the plugins, isn't it? Would you still recommend using the generate block? Does it offer more customization options than the plain wordpress basics? The strategy surely still works. Besides, you're very clear, objective, and cool to hear :)
I still recommend generate blocks, they just have a few extra settings for advanced layouts. Plus it’s free! I just find the way generate blocks do layout etc work well even with 6.3 standard blocks available. Also thank you! I am happy the video helped 🙌
Hi there! Thanks for the video :) Do you have advice if we are not able to see 'blank slate' under templates- after already adding/ downloading the plug in? I'm stuck because it doesn't show under page attributes :/ Thank you!
Hi Andy. Very useful video, thank you. I generally try to avoid adding extra plugins if I can help it. I, therefore, went with a CSS approach for getting rid of the header, footer, and menu. Like this: /* Don't display header, footer, or manin menu on specified page */ /* 3653 is the page id for the Links page */ body.page-id-3653 .site-header, body.page-id-3653 .site-footer, body.page-id-3653 .main-navigation { display: none; } I'm sure that you could come up with something better but this seems to work for me at the moment (still in the development stage! ;-) )
Great video. No overused music. No empty talks. Direct to the topic. Thank you!
This is so fantastic! Marvelous video!!! Thank you for sharing.

That's so funny that you're trying to figure this out at the exact same time as I am.

This was awesome! Thanks! Just trying to figure out how to get my social warfare icons off of that page lol!
In your page’s option you should be able to disable it just for that page
This was a super helpful tutorial, thank you.
Glad to hear it!

Hi do you have IG? I want to ask something!
Hi Andy.
