Band Maid is: MIKU (mee-koo) Rhythm guitar, backing vocals, she writes the lyrics and is the band’s founder. She is “the little pigeon”. KANAMI (kah-nah-mee) Lead guitar. A classically trained musician, she writes and arranges all the music. “Mincho” MISA (mee-sah) Bass. The band’s secret weapon. “The barefoot assassin”. AKANE (ah-kah-neh) The Happiest drummer on Earth. “The Gorilla” is the other half of the best rhythm section on this planet. SAIKI (sigh-kee) Lead vocals. Front man. “The Ice Queen”, She’s also the team mom.
Band-Maid loves performing live and it shows. That's why live is usually better than MV's or studio versions. Misa is the bass player and is among the best at it.
Very nice reaction Brian. This is the first Band Maid video I ever saw and was instantly enamored. I always have been a big fan of instrumentals going back to the 1960's with Don Wilson and The Ventures, The Rip Chords, The Tornados, The Surfaris and from England, The Shadows. And Band Maid is one the the very few rock bands whom specifically craft great instrumentals and just kill them. I've seen BM 3 times, and twice I was right up in front of Kanami and I watched in awe as she just killed it with Onset. Being there live is absolutely the best and you have to see them when they are here next. Many reactors attend their shows and I've met more than a few of them. If you like Onset, you will LOVE From Now On, another instrumental which is quite a bit heavier and more complex. You have to check it out. I've seen them do that live also. In your mentioning of Misa on bass, you should react to the two-song video of Manners and Black Hole. Misa is very evident in Manners and is that underlying drive for the song Manners. The dichotomy between Manners and Black Hole couldn't be more stark, but very enjoyable. The video is of an online "Okyuji" or "serving" from 2021that they did for their fans because of covid. I think you will be very pleased.
This was originally debuted live on this tour. The white room video and studio version came quite a bit later. Most were introduced to this track from this video.
I'm fairly sure that they played Onset at the Islington Assembly Hall show in 2019. I was there and almost started to scream like a Beatles groupie at the end of the song.
Great reaction, as always.👍 The spirit of this song reminds me of "Into The Arena" by Michael Schenker... I'm not saying that Kanami is as great as Michael or that the songs are just as good, but I think they share the same essence.🔥 By the way, Kanami is a relentless riff-making machine.🎸
Band-Maid is best served live. Fans will fly halfway across the globe to catch Band-Maid live. I saw them twice last year: at Sonic Temple in Ohio, and at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit. In Detroit Saiki asked the crowd how far they had travelled to see Band-Maid. A lot of Canadians had crossed the bridge to see them. I was standing next to a group of Argentinians who had flown in just to see the Maids at a small club. An Irishman was in attendance and someone had flown in from Japan!(?) If you think their live videos are cherry picked and heavily edited, you're wrong. They are the tightest band on the planet. Misa never misses a note. Kanami plays guitar like Ayrton Senna drove a formula car: furiously and at the limit.
Akane’s little drum fill after Miku is my new replacement for air drumming. It replaces the iconic fill from The Professor on Tom Sawyer. Thanks for redoing the reaction, cheers!
Kanami, at least a couple years ago, had 3 separate delays on her pedal board. She might have gone more streamlined since then but her board is a beast.
Great to see you check out this version. Their music videos are wonderful,y tasteful. The live versions just have something extraordinary though. The crowd energy, the band interactions and smiles all make the live performances just something more. Thanks again. Best of luck on your continued success. 🎸🎤🎸🥁🎸😊
Misa ALWAYS gets her flowers lol; then Akane then Miku then Saiki then Kanami double lol. some very insights into tone that I hadn't heard before. Great informative reaction.
Personally I think it is more interesting to se the studio live for their instrumental. The audio is better and you see exactly what they do. But this live version is actually very good and I understand why some prefer this version.
BAND-MAID are the best thing to happen since Julius Caesar wrote his autobiography, "I came, I saw, I bought Conqueror" :)

The tune (not a song) was written to give some time to relax the vocal chords of the singer
Plus they're just good enough to pop out an instrumental that people wanna hear.
Band maid's best song is "From now on". Please react.
Thank you 🙏🏻🤘🔥

Longest guitar solo is in Unfair game. The coolest guitar solo is in Anemone. IMHO
This was great! Your willingness to do a different performance of some songs is cool my guy!
Thanks Shawn.
I love this tune. And I've always thought it had the feel of “Leave That Thing Alone” by Rush, which is one of my favorites.
I’m a huge RUSH fan, but my interest stops at Power Windows. I’m familiar with the song, I’ll give it a listen.
@@GuitarSoloReactions I wrote a huge essay on similarities between Band-Maid and Rush, my two favorite bands by far.
Yes, the bass player is MISA, MISA, MISA! The Barefoot Assassin!

A "White Room" video.

@eaglez1901 I think you can find it somewhere on YT
