    I've had my Vanquest Trident 21 Gen 2 for 2 years now, its about as close to perfection as it gets. Its my go to backpack for everything, I'm a mobile repair technician and I run my business out of this bag, I've never had this level of organization with anything else I have used. I also use it for hiking, traveling, events, etc. I upgraded to their new zipper pulls and added the water bottle holder. It may be expensive, but it was money well spent. Keep it up Vanquest! I'll probably be buying an Envoy-13 so I can keep my Trident as a work only bag

    I have many packs from TAD Gear, max perdition, 5.11 , eFirst Tactical, etc. for being on special operation groups in the federal law enforcement agency and I seem to always default back to my vanquest gear. I just bought this in Camo Black and love the organization. It’s a great pack and my favorite EDC pack. Thanks for the great review.

    Your reviews are awesome! I love vanquest! I want to buy most of their stuff I feel it is the best out there and since I'm over 50 now I think it will last me longer than I'm going to be alive! Btw that trident 21 looks awesome!

    I can verify the toughness of Vanquest gear. I have owned the Javelin 3.0 VSlinger for over a year now and it weighs 22lbs 11ozs with my gear in it, just weighed it. I am surprised how well the grab handle is doing along with the strap and zippers for being so stuffed. I am hard on my gear and the Javelin is not showing any signs of wear yet. Vanquest is expensive gear but so worth the money. Looking at getting the Trident-21 next month at 210.00 dollars, OUCH! I stuff my pack behind my car seat when I am going out and yank it out by the handle because its caught between the front and back seat every time I go somewhere and there is no signs of wear or stress on the cross stitching at all. I yank on the zippers so hard and push the pack together with zero problems, poor pack lol. For the average person these packs should last a loong time.

    Love that bag, thanks for sharing. FYI the dividers look a lot like those Peak Design put on the market like five year ago on their camera bags and are still used as their signature modular component today

    I've had my Vanquest Javelin 2.0 Vslinger Pack for about 4 years now... Still a great bag... Vanquest makes some really good stuff... The Trident-21 looks to continue the quality and continued innovation you would expect from Vanquest... Nice job Vanquest... Nice review Chris...

    Its nothing but a fancy camera/laptop bag that has no reasonable function outside of that. I hear some luggage bags are now rideable with some sort of electric motor, now that is something! I'm assuming I can't sit on the bag as I ride it thru a airport terminal? Or am I missing something?

    Chris please recommend an EDC daypack that it more budget friendly. I've been using the same under armor bag for like 8 years if not longer and now my zipper pulls are breaking off and where the straps attach to the body of the bag it's coming apart. Something that's less than 100 bucks please. As always love your content brother and cant wait for more videos from you.

    I actually prefer the molle on the Gen 2 tbh, they completely removed the molle that was on the water bottle pocket, which I don't like. I like having it there. One thing about both gens that I dislike on the 20 and 30 series is the bladder divider only has one velcro strap, and it should have two, one bottom in addition to the top one. I do like a lot of the little improvements they made though. I still use and love my Gen 2s. I'm glad I was able to just buy the new interior dividers and use them in my Gen 2s.

    I would love to see a series of modular packs built for people who are always on the road for work. I think get home bags are more important in my situation than bug out bags, but a lot of what I would need for that should stay in my work vehicle, with a smaller EDC base bag that could be carried into the house every night. Maybe I should invest in a freighter frame and lash some small bags to it, so I could mix and match what I need to carry, and load everything on if I needed to walk away from my vehicle.
    I will have to jump down this rabbit hole and see where it takes me... I'm thinking a bunch of small dry bags, a five gallon bucket, day pack... beer and ice are heavy.. maybe a wagon..

    • @kenbarrett2500
      @kenbarrett2500 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Fisher that is my same situation.. almost every day my work causes me to be between 30 to 50 miles from home . There is small towns scattered about. Nearly all without a hotel .. so my set up is for a max of 3 days to make it home .mostly thru farm land or unstable neighborhoods .

    OK since you asked... Urban EDC bag, why? My current hiking/day bag is 1/3 the weight with 2 external side water bottle pockets - yeah, do about 8 - 9 miles in the hot, humid Ohio summer woods with this thing loaded up, water a pain to get to, and then tell us its an outdoor day bag. Just sayin'. Oh, yes I do think the back padding will be comfortable on the back muscles, but with a lack of horizontal cuts it will likely breathe poorly. Again a long hike will tell. I also wonder about the back "CCW" compartment, unless I got everything backwards (yes, possible) I'm wondering how easy and quick it would be to access the CCW with your right hand (the 90% of us) - esp. right hand only - is it a double zipper there? Would help. Thing is, how many of us really carry get home bags with us all the time every day we're out? So an, albeit heavy, urban EDC bag seems the most likely use. Or what an earlier commenter below called a truck bag (expensive truck bag). I suspect most "get home bags" stay in a vehicle and if you're lucky you take the vehicle home, unlucky you never make it to the car/truck, and Maybe (probably very rarely) you get to the vehicle but then realize you're gonna have to walk. Again, urban EDC bag. 'Nough said!

  • @ogotuwaobuto5366
    @ogotuwaobuto5366 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    My opinion is that Vanquest are moving towards the practices of many other companies i.e. reducing their quality and keeping the prices the same.
    The Javelin 3 which was a very similar sling bag but made with 1000d, this bag which they say is an evolution of the Javelin is made with cheaper 500d with only a small section of 1000d.
    Vanquest, you sold out guys.

    • @preparedmind101
      @preparedmind101  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're losing your mind. Its 500D Mil-grade CORDURA® coated with DUPONT® TEFLON ®. I don't see what you're seeing. What I see is a bunch of brand name USA made material. So it's partly 500D. That's to cut weight and bulk. Its 1000D in the parts that need to be. Its a baseless accusation.

    • @ogotuwaobuto5366
      @ogotuwaobuto5366 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@preparedmind101 Ok, how much more costly is it to manufacture a bag in 1000D than 500D?
      Why have they discontinued the Javelin 3? Perhaps profit margins are smaller with that bag which is full 1000D construction?
      Hand on heart, let your viewers know if your reviews are totally unbiased. Do you buy these bags or do Vanquest send them to you for review.
      If it is the latter, my question is answered. A slightly biased review.

    • @ogotuwaobuto5366
      @ogotuwaobuto5366 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've just compared the Vanquest Envoy Gen 3 (full 1000D) to the new Gen 4 ( part 1000D and Part 500D).
      If that is not evidence enough for you, then I don't know what to say.
      The prices are the same, no discount.
      Shame on you Vanquest. Sell outs. I won't be buying their products again.

    People. First of all: you WILL stay at home when shtf.
    Second: you will stay at home.
    Third: the only reasonable way to hit the road is to do it on the enduro bike or with a tank. Not a bugout van, not a pick-up truck, not a 4x4.
    As for bag just stay around a hiking 60+ Deuter or Osprey long trip backpack. Then learn to live with very little equipment. There are some guys that used to spend their lives on hiking - day after day after day in the wild. For months. Traveling the world 90% on foot. They are using ONLY light 45-60 L hiking backpacks.
    Now add short shotgun and ammo = you are overloaded. Soon, you will trash some stuff from your backpack. Maybe a useless "tactical" knife which is 7mm thick and dont want to cut anything at all... If you have a gun you will only need a Mora type of knife. Cheap one with orange, nylon/plastc handle and thin 10 cm blade. Thats all you will really need.
