- The second-generation Honda Amaze is here and it's a huge departure from its predecessor that launched back in 2013. It looks more like a conventional sedan now, and of course it's bigger, more spacious and better equipped now. It's also got a new diesel automatic variant that uses a CVT gearbox, unique in this segment. Gavin D'Souza drives it in Bengaluru to find out if it's good enough to rival the Maruti Dzire.

Looks like a 2012 Honda City with the gear box and mechanicals. Good with me as I love my 2012 automatic CVT transmission City. Amazed to know that the CVT has better fuel economy now.
Honda should really improve plastics in the new generation City.

I drove Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor petrol version' i felt the driving comfort in Tata Tigor JTP because of its suspension and punchy drive specially for young guys' as of practical man Honda Amaze is a wise choice.
When he took the car on highway, I knew it was in devanahali area in Bangalore. Coz I studied there and the nandi hills, I went like 4 times. It was so near to our college.
Everything holds good expect those normal headlamps...it should have been with projector lamps
Yes, with laser projection, like the BMW 7 Series ..
I went showroom for booking new Amaze.But Impressed with Jazz ,my wife also liked Jazz design.We can feel the good thuds in Jazz while closing the door, build quality of Jazz is better than Amaze.Test driven both car & felt Jazz is better.What impressed in Amaze is its rear seat.Amaze rear seat comfort is very good.But if 3 tall people sitting in back ,grab rails will hit the head.In amaze driver seat we can see the bonnet also..Jazz VX got good discount including parking sensor(price of V) & booked Jazz.

It looks great in black with that aggressive front grill. I do not like compact sedan but I would definitely consider this. I also like interior and beige, looks fresh rather than all black.

i have got amaze automatic petrol. its a shame really they dont give AT in VX. i am really happy with the car so far. the ride is smooth and it is compact enough for city driving but at the same time does drive quite well on highways. this is my first AT car so i am pleasantly surprised at the overall lack of stress over long distance traveling. for the price point it is superb value for money. and oh you can add all the gizmo and gadgets but nothing beats a honda engine. in the long run this is the best car in the segment IMO, and i usually drive 1.5-2K km per month sometimes more (i had driven 1 lac in 3.5 yrs in my previous car).

Honda should have added a front arm rest, rear AC vents and adjustable headrest in top model atleast.

Hi Autocar, any idea about crash test of new Honda Amaze.
In my Honda amaze vx diesel, lot of noise coming from dashboard and front left side door. If I drive on small path holes and white lanes, lot of noise from suspension is coming. No solutions with the service center. Pls help me how to resolve this

How the ground clearance stay the same among models of a car ? Or, it does change?
Example:- "New" Honda Amaze diesel have (as they say) 172mm of ground clearance. It's E&S models tyre size is 175/65 r14 and V&VX models tyre size is 175/65 r15.

Excellent, Honda Amaze Diesel CVT is an awesome car.
it is so georgeous but its negative point is in my own views is that its top speed is 180kmph which is also available in alto .......
just brought the customer's attraction from honda city to honda amaze those who are concerned about the cost of the car......
it has every feature of honda city at low cost....just slight differences
this car should've had
1)Projector headlamps
2)16-inch wheel alloy
3)rear adjustable headrest
4)rear AC vent
Add to that only Single Horn setup. Atleast a Dual Horn setup is expected for better safety.
Hello sir, new honda amaze petrol MT car when I am putting the reverse gear while I am moving losts of vibration is there, can the Honda solve it the vibration problem sir.
Facing reverse gear problem in new Honda Amaze. sent them several mails and called many times but they are unable to resolve the issue. There is also noise coming while braking. What should i do ? Autocar India

I'm very much amazed by this new Amaze 2018 or 2nd Gen Amaze. I have seen the car in showroom and also taken the test ride. But, I'm confused b/w CVT & Manual Version, like whether I should choose V(CVT) or VXMT (I prefer a petrol version as my running will be limited to 30-40kms/day) ?
Please suggest with pros & cons of these 2 variants.

Sir I just need an information from you experts. The previous amaze had a speed cap(wide open throttle-5th gear) and the speed was limited to 140kph. Does this car have the same limit? Even though it is not needed regularly and may be unsafe but I am hugely discouraged by the idea of a limit. Call me whatever you want but I may not do this speed everyday, not even once a week but the thought that "it can if need be" is reassuring.

Sir, saw & heard your review, it is good. Saw the car extensively yesterday and there are few points that we felt are a let down.
1. Saw the Petrol CVT and the Music System was a big let down, by showing a competitive pricing, you are giving a touch screen at an additional cost of 35K, feels like a Datsun sound system
2. The Suspension were little stiff as compared to Maruti Dzire,
3. If you have opened the boot, the boot cover misses insulation cover where the Number Plate light is placed, and it is same in all the options? Why? it looks so low graded. If you completely pack the boot with luggage and close it, at times it is possible it might damage the Number Plate Lights too.
4. Saw the stepney cover is flimsy and not attached with the hard board, again a let down.
5. Interiors only have two tone and no other option like All black as they give in Jazz & Wr-V,
6. Grill in the front look tooo open
7. Automatic Petrol is super smooth and fun but I guess not good for Over taking on highways

I saw this at the AutoExpo , and my first reaction was that why did you have to smash the car against a wall ? The front would have looked soo good if they had kept it a bit curved or pointed! Why so flat!?
