      1. Petrol CVT as it gets those cool paddle shifters!
      2. Diesel manual as it has great power and torque.
      They could have done better with the front end look, I think that big chrome moustache is a BIG NO.

    Diesel manual is my pick over here!
    I already have a city with the same engine so I can imagine how much fun it would be driving this small sedan with a improved DTEC!

    The segment leader Dzire just got a run for it's money! because paddle shifters at this price point is unheard of and Honda can never go wrong with its refinement like ever!

    Very elaborative and Detailed presentation. Good work by powerdrift team
    The fact that they have designed it differently from all the other outgoing subcompact sedans will invite some premium cost.
    Introduction CVT with Diesel in this segment will tick the boxes off for most of customers.
    All in all it's a Premium subcompact sedan for people who love Honda badging and reliability.

    Well done guys, superb review. Worth the wait for second part 😃. For me, since the gap between the running cost of petrol and diesel are closing very fast, Petrol manual makes more sense .

    Great video! Finally someone describes petrol cvt.
    My requirement Bombay city driving/home-offc-home/ 40 kms max daily/ budget no constraint/ upgrading from a wagon r/ test drove Amaze Petrol MT and CVT. Loved the cvt as it’s so bloody comfy. It’s was like having a massage while driving.
    Need honest opinion. Is the petrol cvt good choice for Bombay driving or
    Shud I go for VX Manual?
    Need to decide quickly. Please let me know asap.

    Honda has done a remarkable job on the Amaze and well for Powerdrift just raised the benchmark again, kudos to the entire team!
    The PD army would have been happy, If you guys could work something with Honda Amaze CVT diesel and the VW Ameo DSG diesel.

    I've been driving honda amaze diesel in manuel in hilly areas and I'm so impressed with its performance, it has great great pickup. The engine is like a beast under the hood the moment you push the gas pedal feels like you're flying on the road.
    We have really bad road conditions here in hills, but when I drive the Honda Amaze I don't feel any bumps as it's suspension is the best in class. Overall built quality is really good. I'm looking forward to drive the new Amaze

    fantastic review guys.. glenn.. u r spot on with your explanation and yes amaze looks like a fantastic package... two things i would like to point out... those piano black inserts across the dashboard always attracts minor scratched in a very short period of time.. and second i want to know what is the point of reducing torque in diesel cvt

      Regular buffing should help in keeping the dash looking neat.
      The engine might have been detuned to reduce the load on the CVT.

    Go for e mt variant. It has abs ebd and power window. One can install touchscreen stereo, JBL speaker, camera and central locking in just rs 25k. In this way u get upgraded variant in 6.5 lakh which is good deal

    In the first video I didn’t see the beauty of the car but with black colour I saw it. The diesel cvt looks like a good option for those in kochi but for me its the diesel manual although I wanted to see the paddle shifters on diesel cvt.

    what all is missing in the cvt? You mentioned the infotainment system I know it lacks cruise control also. Is there anything else? A bit of a deal breaker for me. If the cvt transmission is the automatic in the city, cruise control would have been the equivalent on the highway (as we don't shift many gears on the highway anyway and its the throttle that needs to be floored)

    Maruti should learn that a powerful engine is more important for a car in this segment than a rear ac vent.... It makes me sad that just for resale benefits people are buying those 1.3 L cars rather than cars like Amaze and Aspire..:(

      It's not just Honda, it's a common practice in the industry. Generally, in economy cars, the automatic is not offered in top trim to keep the costs low.

    Hi Glenn. One simple technical question. Have honda resolved the clutch damage issue as well as the hydrostatic engine lock issue in this upgrade. Coz these are the two burning issues with the old amaze

      There are a number of factors that could result in the clutch damage, and hydrostatic engine lock occurs when water enters the engine. These are things that cannot be known on the first drive, and would rather require a long-term test.

      Thanks for the reply Glenn. But did they make any change in the clutch or did u feel any difference while pressing the clutch pedal !! Have they raised the air suction duct little higher so that it cannot suck accumulated water from the road in rainy seasons. What their engineers are saying !! Would be happy if u can help me in this matter. Coz i want to buy this car. But not with these problems. The previous amaze was highly criticized due to these two problems.

    If the Diesel V CVT Amaze is below ₹10 lakh on road, I think they might have a winner on their hands.
    Good to know the diesel automatic though reduced in power has smooth acceleration. Did you notice any turbo lag or did the CVT mask it nicely?
    Hope they bring this new Diesel CVT option in W-RV and City soon.

      The diesel CVT does perform well. The advantage of CVT is that it compensates for the lag very well, it's barely noticeable.

    My budget is around 8 lakhs on road, requirements are petrol and good build quality, no restrictions like hatchback/sedan/suv, for daily commute to office, which car I should buy? No other preferencs.

    to me the car seems decent, reliable like any other Honda with a little bit of changes here and there. agreed its a complete new car in terms of looks and not just an extended version of Brio but there is no exciting element in the car.
    Yaris on the other hand looks really promising..
    its time Honda needs to work on its India line up and stop being dependent on City alone.

    Honda amaze first generation did well when it was launched,later it has issues like refinement and that stubby boot.But this one has the perfect sedan proportions and looks premium from outside and even inside.Honda cars are known for spacious cabins,the addition of rear Ac vents would have been a biggest boon!
    Now the dzire will face a tough competition!!The diesel manual will be the choice!

    In petrol manual which is a better pick amaze or dezire although my run is limited to 1000km a month mostly highways should i choose amaze diesal
