The thing with John Mayer is that he never seems to stop surprising me with his talent. I don’t think I ever will stop listening to him if I’m being honest.
He's always been well respected. Any decent guitarist that has tried to learn one of his many songs will learn so many new things all in one song. Guy is LITERALLY amazing
@RobertMJohnson hey, look, it's another guy who's massively jealous of JM and has no idea what he's talking about 😂 JM has had public affirmations from Eric Clapton, B.B King, Robert Cray.. the list goes on. Clapton went so far as to call him a "genius" and a "master guitar player." You don't get endorsements from some of the best guitarists of all time if you're as bad and non-influential as you say JM is. But hey, I guess we should listen to you, Mr. Keyboard Warrior? Tell us all about your accomplishments and how you've played the blues and rock to millions of people live. What's that? You haven't? Didn't think so. Cunt.
Sweet Jesus! I came across a piece of this on a Instagram and listened to the loop over and over. Been looking for it on TH-cam and here it is. Thanks so much for posting. Pino and Steve grooving in the pocket and JM just killing it. THIS is music!!!!
You don't know what to watch...Steve and pino are so tight ...they push JM to another level...Clapton said.."I knew John was good... I didn't know he was like that "...he's so fun to watch...you hear a little bit of a lot of people in this ..stevie ray...albet king..linc wray...Billy gibbons...buddy guy....watching this makes people that don't play guitar want to learn...makes people that do play ....want to quit...
Great guitar playing! JM is really rockin' it here ... I transcribed & did a lesson based on John's performance on this video...its part of my Bootleg Transcription Series (This is BTS #4)...Keep it burnin out there! Mike
he once said in an interview that he used to play in his bedroom as if he was in a concert to then saying that he now plays in front of thousands of people while imagining playing in his bedroom
Musically speaking, he is becoming his generation's Mike Bloomfield (and is beginning to bear some resemblance). JM on a vintage Les Paul through a cranked Fender Twin Reverb would be interesting.
Try also JD Simo with his band SIMO. JD also does hot country and a great clip is him and Daniel Donato doing 'Walking The Dog'. There also a couple clips of Simo with Tommy Emmanuel (on a 3 p/u Tele) play serious stuff.
Everyone gawking at his guitar (and it's amazing, don't discredit him for it at all) But what kinda camera or phone is this person recording this on! Sheesh, the zoom and quality still. In 2017. What??
John is no joke one of the greatest blues guitarists
how the fuck does he do with it, with everything else music that hes doing!? when you think hes lost it, hes gotten better!
1:39 Pino no smoking, 1:41 Pino smoking, 1:42 Pino no smoking
Okay, what in the world was that
That’s a toothpick
wtf is that men kkkkk
Like a kids magic show 😅
lmao
The thing with John Mayer is that he never seems to stop surprising me with his talent. I don’t think I ever will stop listening to him if I’m being honest.
Same here!
love how this man is so well respected in the guitar community these days

@@SlipKnoTRokr yup, you said it
That ES is beautiful...gotta love them in Cherry red
love to see metallica fans here
Mayer has it going on. Pop. rock, blues and even folk music, he manages to fit in nicely.
Yep. I hear a touch of Stevie Ray in his playing also
@Tyran Curtis This jam in E is actually a Stevie tune.
@@KeithBlade Its a SRV song called "Slide Thing"
precisely what has he contributed to rock and blues guitar? pro hint: nothing
@RobertMJohnson hey, look, it's another guy who's massively jealous of JM and has no idea what he's talking about 😂 JM has had public affirmations from Eric Clapton, B.B King, Robert Cray.. the list goes on. Clapton went so far as to call him a "genius" and a "master guitar player."

Mayer just locked into the groove! He should play a Gibson more often, it's a good look!
that Palladino in the pocket groove!
gie bass my fav bassist
Always...
And all with a couple of notes! Nothing flash!
Best ES-335 sound I've ever heard.
A little while back I was absolutely "gassing" over a 335. I ended up buying a Les Paul and this video has me regretting my decisions lol
You should check out the one Clapton used in the 60s. This is a custom shop replica of that one
WHY WASNT I INFORMED ABOUT THIS!!! I didn’t know the trio was getting back at it again!
Sweet Jesus! I came across a piece of this on a Instagram and listened to the loop over and over. Been looking for it on TH-cam and here it is. Thanks so much for posting. Pino and Steve grooving in the pocket and JM just killing it. THIS is music!!!!
GOD I missed JM3
This music just gets down into my soul!!! John Mayer you're the man.
The way that right hand just flicks around while he strums. So fluent
Beautiful filming
John Mayer plays the best blues👌

i thought it was a duane allman lick?
He went from playing blues alone in his bedroom to playing to thousands of people
This man has felt The blues
Wow, he must be the only person in the world to do that
With Pino Palidino and Steve Jordan no less

Thanks for posting that's a great Jam.
this is actually a take off of, or a very close remdition of SRVs slide thing
Thanks for the upload mate.. Pretty good audio quality which was a nice suprise. JM3 is delicious.
Livingston, MT we love John Mayer!!!!!!!!!
I was there! Best concert ever
Great stuff! This sounds like a cover of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Slide Thing" from the 'In The Beginning' album.
it is
So much stevie and bb its beautiful
The tone is veryyyy cream Clapton though.
okay what the hell are you filming with, i could practically see the sweat on his hands
not an iphone thats for sure :)
and ur welcome for letting you enjoy this video again after 2 years.
I can't see it very clear at all and I'm using a Samsung 8
Easy...its a i phone 22 plus plus 18 ultra wide high def 2nd gen invisible edition...shipped from amazon facility on mars...lol
I wish he'd play the 335 more often.

True music!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Truly a monster
Nice one 🎸👏👏👏👏👏

Allllll righttttt
Trevor on bass! Aeon Flux superstar from the old Liquid Television series on MTV. Circa 'round the same time Beavis and Butthead started on Liquid.
I dunno what you’re filming with but Jesus it’s crazy. The band is poppin’ as usual
Almost didn't recognize Steve Jordan up there with the poncho and sunglasses lol
Pino wearing shades is so funny
Impressive the domain of Pïno Palladino that begins by touching only with his thumb, and then adding the others
Pop fans of John are probably just like wtffff is this
Omg that last solo is so fast
Musically speaking, he is becoming his generation's Mike Bloomfield (and is beginning to bear some resemblance). JM on a vintage Les Paul through a cranked Fender Twin Reverb would be interesting.
Ya hi master!
He should play there, soon. That's by me, kinda.
Watch the periscope video of him playing the blue PRS, pretty much all the same licks with some extra stuff
Very intelligent guitar player
Damn
I’m drunk and happy I played this
if you search for John's periscope videos on TH-cam, there's a video of him on a blue PRS where he explains his palm vibrato technique here.
I can't repeat it even approximately,my fingers can't keep up with my ears !
Can anybody explain to me the last turnaround please? I dont get it
the only musician who could make yesterday's music work today
Samuel Ruatdika exactly!
Samuel Ruatdika not true at all
Samuel Ruatdika Gary Clark Jr. and The Black Keys???

A little bit of B. B. and a little bit of Stevie.
He's play srv
He's playing *
Pino is only coocking with hot water, but his water is so f.... hot. greetings from Morocco
What camera are you using?
Canon SX720 HS
Is that an ES 330? It looks a little smaller than a 335, but then again John is like 6’4”
It’s an ES335. A replica of Clapton’s during the Cream era. Gibson CS built 250 replica’s in 2005, and this is one of them :)
존메이어의 잼민이라니 이거 귀한데요...
Didn't know Satriani played bass for J.Mayer.
классно, Чикаго-блюз !!!
What happens at 1:40 when something comes out of Pinos mouth?
Toothpick?
rix29 yeah that's a toothpick
He grooved it right out of his mouth!
Guys of his age sometimes loose their teeth. " Me and my teeth we sleep seperately" 😊
존맛탱의 잼민이 라는 노래군요..
Sounds like Elmore James dust my broom with Hideaway by Freddie King
Ain't that an SRV style?
Everyone gawking at his guitar (and it's amazing, don't discredit him for it at all) But what kinda camera or phone is this person recording this on! Sheesh, the zoom and quality still. In 2017. What??
what guitar is that ????
Here you it is not so easy play that kind of rock/blues tempo...
You feel the swampiness? Iykyk lol
slide thing
joe satriani plays bass????
NO. That's Pino Palladino (god)...
Hah! Joe Satriani in his final form.
Mochammad Marsha hahaha🤣
Joe Satriani wishes he could play bass like Pino
Steve. Jordan.
no nothing about playing a guitar but how does he get that beautifully powerful sound at about 2:59 ?
6th fret g string, 5th high e. Slide quickly up from there to 7g 7e, then 9g 9e. Nice little major walk up
Sounds a little like Pride and Joy
Holy balls sacks this is so good I should just quit guitar right now. Out the window it goes!
Vet underestimated guitar player.
freddie king will be proud
That a 339???
335, Mayer's a tall guy lol the guitar looked small
@@FikriIzzaldin no way he’s that big to make it look like a 339
@@metroecco7908 🤣🤣 i know its surreal, but thats a gibson es-335 eric clapton signature, john is 190cm tall (6'4")
FUCKIN' FIRST!!!!!!!!! haha jk
Awesome jam...hope Jonh, pino and Steve never part ways!
oh good. now i've heard the same damn thing from 1000 and ONE players.
That seems mean to say about Pino and Steve...
Either that Gibson is small in size unlike a 335 or Mayer's making it look like a toy
The second theorie is right , and pino makes john look like a small guy too !
As much as I like the playing of John Mayer, I wish the bass player would've riffed a little bit.
This is a cover of Elmore James called "Dust My Broom"
I didn't know Jeff Bezos played the Bass.. 😬
