    when you carve 5 - 10 a day I would think you need to start looking at a dust control system and a CNC machine to
    get into some names and fancy work on the handles...

      Yeah, for production a cnc would be great. 🍊

    Have you used a angle grinder of similar projects? Have opinion preferring straight die grinder vs angle grinder ? Great video, helped me a lot on making decisions, Jack in Idaho

      I have used an angle grinder for carving , but not for spoons. The discs are too big imo for a spoon that is why I like the die grinder for the smaller burrs. 🍊

    Great video. Where can I purchase burs like those?

    Great Video. Gave me some good ideas. One thing I have used is to mount ball, such as old tennis ball or almost any king of ball on a 2” bolt, put Velcro on it, cut hook-and-loop sand paper to fit around the ball then mount the bolt in a drill or a drill press to sand the bowl of your spoons.
    A question - at about 1:30 in your video, you are using a Saburrtooth that you call a Roto-Topper or something like that. What is that cutter - I don’t think it is in the list of tools used?

    2:09 Hmm. Maybe use a large forstner bit to remove 75% of the waste, then go in and use the power carver. Dunno

    This was an awesome video. I’ve been collecting cool wooden spoons over the past few years and just bought a really cool rustic spoon from world market but I really want to make my own. I’d kill for a shop and tool like yours but for now I’ll live vicariously through you😄

      @TheAwesomeOrange  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome! Spoons have so much character and history! You only really need a couple of tools to make your own spoons not a full shop like me. Thanks for watching! 🍊

      So good!!! It’s definitely a favorite burr of mine. I love it for spoons and for the texture I have created on other pieces. Thanks for watching. 🍊

    No need for all those cuts into the wood get yourself a narrower blade yours looks like 10/12mm, then you can do your cuts around bends far better

    • @TheAwesomeOrange

      Thanks for the tip! I am new to the bandsaw and have been wanting to get some new blades. 🍊

    • @paulkramer4176
      @paulkramer4176 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, narrower blade will make it able to follow a much tighter curve. Also, looks like you have the tension a bit loose on the blade. that will help if tighter .
