Tranzit had such a skill curve compared to black ops 1 if you wanted to play the map fast, but in my opinion if you can get the turning to kill the denesin before he latches onto your face down it has some of the most satisfying clutch moments with friends. Being on the literal other side of the world to make it to them with one second left the revive them felt so damn good.

Same here, but I was a Halo kid until my little brother brought BO2 over. Tranzit was so fun to me. We were kids so ofc we didn’t have money for DLC maps unfortunately.
I think the biggest and simplest fix to me would be a way to make the bus be able to purchase when to go whenever u feel like instead of just always only waiting whenever the bus is ready to go and also have a way to call the bus to any major locations like the dinner or town or the bus depot when u want it or need it

The fact that bro has one of the best “video essays” for destiny raids, I always thought it would be cool for zombies, now look at you!! Never knew I needed this
i know im YEARS late, but a guarenteed way to make the avogadro spawn was to end the round during a thunderstorm, if you didnt want him to spawn jsut wait for the storm to end
This map was made for b06. Everyone knows this map was way way ahead of its time and was not meant to be played on bo2. But with how they do zombies now I think it’s absolutely perfect for transit now. Wonderfizz, phd flooper being back. Healing aura build tables like it’s all there now. Like bo6 could pull it off.
At the beginning, Tranzit was revolutionary with buildables. The problem is the way they implemented buildables, particularly the Jet Gun. Really happy to see the glow up to the Jet Gun on Liberty Falls. Much needed. I found myself playing Town way more than Tranzit. The denizens are basically the manglers today but atleast you could control if you encountered them. Needless to say they were annoying. The fog lead to a mystery and horror factor that isn't replicated in any other map. However, it was extremely easy to get turned around in. The lava was frustrating particularly in certain spots. The travel system was a terrifying experience if you decided to avoid denizens. The zombies ultra sprint to catch up to the bus and you are extremely vulnerable there. The bus felt like a riskier option than the fog, lava, and denizens. Overall, it's one of the more challenging maps. It doesn't really make you feel overpowered at any time. You are extremely vulnerable from the very beginning. All this to say its frustrating and I haven't even discussed the pack a punch quest which is the worst in zombies history. Where does the line between challenging and frustrating begin? There are plenty of challenging maps that the community loves but Tranzit falls into a special place of being more frustrating than the rewards given.
Ngl i look forward to these videos, used to watch you all the time when i played destiny years ago but glad to see your branching out my man keep it up💪💪
Man, this video reminded me why I really disliked TranZit! It was nice seeing Milo in this video, who I thought made a great point to frame the context of the Zombies community at the time. Looking forward to this BOII series of videos. Die Rise was our first fully independent World's First, Mob of the Dead has quite the story to it, and Origins (Which Milo was first for as well!) was a total blast and a perfect way to end the BOII Zombies maps.
Banking points in the.... bank was one of many many little cool ideas someone had that made it into the game, as for the others it shows just how messy the development and planning was.
I still have fond memories of playing Tranzit with the boys lol only on occasion did the bus stuff get annoying from what I remember and yea the easter egg did kinda just happen huh...but I would still say really liked it overall. These videos bring back so many good feelings and memories.
I LOVED transit when it came out. It didn't overhaul the entire gameplay formula like the more recent iterations did. It added to it and made it look really cool while doing it.
As a non DLC buyer the only thing that discouraged me from playing tranzit is that it causes crashes on half the PCs you play it from and it still hasn't been fixed after more than a decade. Also too few wall guns for a map of this size.
12:20 only thing id like to correct is that you HAVE to leave the turbine on in order to get the perk. If you run away and a zombie blows up the turbine, or the turbine breaks itself. The perk darkens and is not avaliable to buy and is actually off for players who bought it. So no power transit is verry risky.
Only bad players thought transit was bad all good players could easily navigate the fog with jug, stam & knuckles the denizens were hardly an issue I could run laps around transit all day
I absolutely loved Tranzit. The issue I had with it wasn’t the bus or any of those mechanics. It was that every zone was so compact and tight. If the other spaces were a little larger so they didn’t feel like one tight loop in each zone then it would have been fine. At higher rounds if you were at the farmhouse/lab you were cooked.
i aboslutely loved tranzit. such a good map and brought alot of great easter eggs in. i loved being able to hop on the bus and move to different areas in the map.
the best thing about tranzit was that week after launch when you could glitch the lobby and run it the with 8 players. the most fun i've ever had on zombies
I really hated this map. It felt like such a loooong wait between launch and Die Rise release, just playing Farm and Town got really old really quick. The only saving part for me, was honestly the cast. I looooved Marlon for the EXACT reason you stated. Playing as Robin in zombies was so sick 😂
ive never heard anyone say they hated tranzit. probably the greatest map/idea ever created for the time. best memories i hd on tranzit was doing the glitch that allowed u to play with 8 people on playstation.
Sometimes innovation is a bit too ahead of its time. The concept of Tranzit it great, but technical limitations really hurt it. I appreciate the devs for trying and hope they give it another shot on modern hardware
All my friends/who I played with back then hated it. I absolutely loved it. Coincidentally those same people never had any interest in attempting any of the Easter eggs and would basically call me a conspiracy theorist for thinking there were secrets in the game.
Black Ops II Zombies is still my favorite zombies game. My favorite map on there is Buried but TranZit is my second most played map. In my opinion, I'd actually say that Die Rise is the most controversial map. People either love Die Rise or they hate it. TranZit is hard when you first start, but once you get used to the stops and knowing when to stay and when to take the bus, as well as how to get pack-a-punch working, the game is great.
buried had a phd flopper perma perk where you needed to dolphin dive and take damage a couple times and made it so if you dolphin dived off of high spots you wouldnt take damage and would make a huge explosion to “protect” your landing there was also a double point headshot perma perk i believe which you could get by having snipper headshots and when using both you could make a crap ton of money i remember building my banks money with those two used together ahhhh good old times
12:25 But you needed to still have power (the turbine) on the perk to still have it active, otherwise it's icon get "powered off" and gets nullified. And the turbine can be destroyed by the zombies or stops working after some minutes That said again with the PaP, you need to have the turbine active and don't get destroyed or the PaP door will close, and that is the only way to activate the PaP and the energy map didn't do anything to open the door so you still need to suffer with the turbine from not broking if you want to PaP you weapons. So you NEED to activate the power on the map
People always forget that the first 6 months of bo2 nearly made every main zombies youtuber quit. Rose tinted glasses are crazy man. Oh also, Tranzit, Die Rise, and Buried are the Victis maps, not the first three maps. Specifically, Tranzit and Die Rise are the first and second respectively (excluding Nuketown), but Mob of the Dead released third, THEN Buried.
Honestly, I don’t think there was ever a lore reason given as to why Nacht was on TranZit. There’s a technical reason, as there were plans to port the WaW and BO1 maps into BO2 with new upgrades for a proposed DLC 5 (think BO1s ports but with like, PaP on Verrukt and so on), and I think nacht was just a like, teaser for it.
I’m disappointed Tranzit was the first zombies map i played. i thought a terrible map was fun because i was 12 years old. put putting that aside, what really hurts is the fact there were cut modes like meat, the rumored bus B-route, being able to play the map during before the world was blown up. I really wish I got to experience that… I really wish tranzit got remade on modern hardware but Activision won’t let anyone do that…(btw i got to play the pre patched tranzit cause i firmly remember hearing some cut lines from Aether Richtofen)
I like tranzit. It is true though basically the main problem for me was people always dieing in other sides of the map. I didn't even understand how they fell so fast because this was one of the simplest maps. There was an ungodly amount of room so you could train zombies
It just missing alot of stuff, but it was all we had back when we were kids who could not buy DLC. All that's missing were now adding on modding, since OAT came out its been rlly promising.
A lot of the trouble in Tranzit could be avoided by simply being patient and waiting to kill the last zombie of a round at the right moment. Still one of my least favorite easter eggs, but not as tedious (except obtaining EMPs) as many make it out to be. My only real complaint about the map is just the layout of it, which is the largest complaint by most of the playerbase. The map is just too damn big and intricate. If the side areas like Nacht were optional it probably would've at least been a little better (not by much), but since a jet gun/navcard table piece is always there, you have to waste a lot of time just to go there for those. Not to mention the navcard system was a little dumb. You actually needed the "previous" map's card to insert into the tables (they basically formed a triangle)
tranzit deserves a lot of criticism but i can appreciate the heavy experimentation cant wait for the video on die rise. i think its unfairly overhated, and while it is hard and confusing, its tightly paced and a lot of fun to conquer
Tranzit for me was a fun map, yet never one that i loved. As you mentioned it became more annoying than difficult. Looking back i think it did leas to a lot of the innovation we saw in future maps. The only thing is it was too much at one time especially on a launch map.
The biggest problem was no one knew what the hell to do. No one ever knew how to pack a punch, no one ever recommended any strats, and everyone just acted like a bunch of 6th graders running around a new playground. It was like every time I played this map, the other players were all playing it for the first time.
Was Tranzit over hated? Let me know!
Special thanks to MrRoflWaffles for interviewing with me on this video!

And the turbine can be destroyed by the zombies or stops working after some minutes
That said again with the PaP, you need to have the turbine active and don't get destroyed or the PaP door will close, and that is the only way to activate the PaP and the energy map didn't do anything to open the door so you still need to suffer with the turbine from not broking if you want to PaP you weapons. So you NEED to activate the power on the map
This is quite literally the first time I’ve ever heard anybody hate on transit
My best zombies memories are on tranzit playing split screen with childhood friends
I was broke back then and couldn’t afford the DLC maps but I loved zombies. So I grew a liking to tranzit. 7/10
Evan, I love you, man. But that mustache ain't doing you any favors...
When a man loses too much hair on top, he must grow a mustache and/or beard. Life is all about balance
the mustache is here for now senpafi :(
I still play this often 🤣. Me and a few buddies. Ill often play solo and load the bank. I usually keep a packed ham in the fridge
Lets go Evan! Keep putting out the zombies content! Love this!
Keep making the zombies videos trust me bro it’ll work out. Make sure you play into early black ops nostalgia.
1:00 oh my god this is gold 😂
It just missing alot of stuff, but it was all we had back when we were kids who could not buy DLC.
All that's missing were now adding on modding, since OAT came out its been rlly promising.
My all time favorite zombies map, good memories playing it with friends, and this is coming from a very casual zombie player
Tranzit had so much potential but the hardware limitations made them have to jump so many hoops that the map was wrecked.
I loved tranzit, when I first played bo2 I didn’t know it existed. I used to play farm and town only lol
tranzit deserves a lot of criticism but i can appreciate the heavy experimentation
cant wait for the video on die rise. i think its unfairly overhated, and while it is hard and confusing, its tightly paced and a lot of fun to conquer
Tranzit for me was a fun map, yet never one that i loved. As you mentioned it became more annoying than difficult. Looking back i think it did leas to a lot of the innovation we saw in future maps. The only thing is it was too much at one time especially on a launch map.
Tranzit was my favourite map ever idk why it gets so much hate
The biggest problem was no one knew what the hell to do. No one ever knew how to pack a punch, no one ever recommended any strats, and everyone just acted like a bunch of 6th graders running around a new playground. It was like every time I played this map, the other players were all playing it for the first time.
