    The previous owner must have spent a fortune in those dual slot systems. Those must have been very rare. At my workplace I got a dual CPU workstation almost 10 years ago and it was very expensive.

      @@66mhzbrain that makes a lot of sense. Time is money and 2 CPUs cuts compile time in half. That is the reason I had one despite it costing as much as 4 regular machines.

      @@thedopplereffect00 cool, that makes sense. Multicore cpus were well established before I got into all that. They will be fun to mess around with.. If they work. The mother of all spiders was in one of them when I got it, I guess it's found a dark corner in the house somewhere as it wasnt there when I made the vid 😬

    I got one of those huge bnc crt monitors from a place i used to work at years ago, it wasn't in use, so I asked if i could take it. I remember barely managing to carry it out of there, it weighed so much! Sadly it's long gone.

    • @66mhzbrain
      @66mhzbrain  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cool, yes it is a seriously heavy thing😬

  • @vonhapen1
    @vonhapen1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    That EIZA-monitor even does have seperated BNC connectors for RGB, vertical and horizontal signals, nice. Not sure, if that really increases image quality back in the days, but nice to this again. Bit of a shame that the devices suffered so much of water damage. Pressing all my thumbs that you can get the most of it. 👍

    • @66mhzbrain
      @66mhzbrain  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thankyou! yes its a nice monitor, will experiment with the bnc when I get time. I'll be happy if I can get 4 or 5 of these restored and working and some spare parts😁

      I think it's the same signals as VGA so you can use an adapter.

    Don't discount the Phillips 4:3 flat panel TV as a useful monitor. Many times they are quite useful for the multiple inputs on the rear, as well as the simple fact they have the correct geometry for older machines. Some of them even support 15khz analog RGB for the older 8/16 bit computers.

    I started with a MJN 486, probably cost more than I've ever spent since, especially as I had to buy a soundcard and CD too, the original SB16 (mine was ASP multiCD) and the CR563

    Try to save them all! And that Phenom would have the most potential power of them all seeing as that can be anywhere from a 1 core to 4 core chip. Unless one of those was a core2duo or better that is. Should clean, test, and experiment with them all.

    15:07 Not boring me at all! I love this kind of thing, I’ve got tons of old mainboards that would fit right in with some of this stuff.
    18:51 An X****! 👌🏻 The AGP variant is not very common, they’re also not the most expensive AGP cards in the world but I’d love to have one in my collection (edited as to not give the reveal away)

    yeah the one with a celeron 331 has agp and skt 775 - u should see if its core 2 duo compatible - but it might just be a 775 pentium /celeron board

    You've got a lot of work to do to restore them all... Some of them look really bad, they were probably stored in a damp basement somewhere.

    • @66mhzbrain
      @66mhzbrain  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It was an outdoor shed that leaked. They were in there for 4 years apparently. I'll be pleased if I get a few working machines, or a pile of parts. But I'll do ehat I can for each of them.
