These landscapes drive me crazy. Tell me what in this world could be better than a huge old pickup truck with a 6 liter engine rustling around the ranch? Sorry for my English, I hope soon I will be able to see America with my own eyes and drive around all the states, this is a dream of a lifetime and I am closer to it than ever.
I thought I was the only person alive who sets out to replace 1 bad part in an afternoon that ends up being many more parts over multiple days. Nice truck, dogs, video, and mechanical skills.
Nice! I have a 1988 F250 extended cab long bed 7.3 diesel I'm putting back on the road. Like yours, it has been a bit of a long road between work, family, and house maintenance (which is why I bought it) It's been in my driveway for about the same time your truck sat. I've been doing a little here and there and it's almost done. I need a good long weekend to finish it.
@@WINOtinkery I own a 94 f150 xlt two tone similar to yours, mine is 2 wheel drive, but same engine and trans, but you definitely cannot go wrong with the obs fords! I love those old trucks and mine is my pride and joy, glad to see you bring some life back into the old girl and get her running again! Love seeing these old trucks still on the road.
Definitely subscribed after watching this video! Great stuff. :) Also a cheap alternative to test/potentially fix your injectors is hook leads to the injector and then up to an 18v dewalt battery. Injectors are 12v so an 18v power source give the injector a little more "oomph" to unstick/test them!
just how calm you are about a tornado is wild but then again for me growing up in coastal NJ i see a hurricane coming and just shrug it off now i live in WNC and they hear a hurricane might make it to the mountains of NC and they freak out and i once again just shrug lmao
I've never had great luck rebuilding fuel injectors They will work for a while but you seem to end up with the same issue down the road. Now if I have to I just go OEM and never look back. Awesome video my man👍
Hoping to get that feel good moment here soon on mine. Went over a speed bump the other day and the truck just died. Checked the battery terminals, inertia switch, and the fuel pump primes when I key on engine off. Had to get towed back home, tow truck driver said to try it after the tow because sometimes the jostling from towing will get a fuel pump going again. Tried it and it started for about 5 seconds. Going to get a fuel pressure tester to see what’s going on.
nice work, bud. She will serve you well. A bottle of the lucas power steering stop leak will quiet down that Ford power steering whine. You and the puppy dogs take care.
1992 was the first year for those generation Ford F-series pickups & Broncos. They were produced up through 1997 except the F-150s & Broncos were finished in 1996.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Multiple set-backs but you persevered. Beautiful truck, and beautiful land out there. Where are you from?! Love that wide open view.
Working on a 93 4.9 . It ran when I parked it , and I would start it ever so often. After parking The one or two miles I drove it was harder on the vehicle than the 180 thousand I had on it. Had to check all the grounds, all vaccum lines, all electronic parts , egr valve . And it still wants to idle high. It's a nightmare.
If you went through the trouble to replace the gas tank you should’ve replaced the fuel pump as well. I did not and I’m paying for it now because I’ll likely have to drop the tank again to replace the pump after dropping the tank to replace the pump seal two months ago. Edit: I guess I spoke too soon and should’ve watched the video because you’re doing that now lol
As a seasoned mechanic, knowing that it fired off with ether, I wouldn't have wasted so much money on those extra unnecessary parts... I would have checked fuel pressure via the shrader valve on the fuel rail. If fuel sprays out, you know you have fuel pressure. 9 times outta 10, these old fuel injected vehicles will run since their ignition systems are pretty bulletproof unlike the older stuff.
i subbed keep making videos about this and ill watch every one of them. I daily a 110k mile 1994 f150 4x4 reg cab SB 5.0 5 speed XLT. it runs and drives perfect, but it needs a little cosmetic work! I get 19mpg with it too if i drive it like a tractor and shift at or below 2200 RPM. I use the low end torque of the 302 and i chose that rpm cuz its what it sits at going 75mph on the freeway in 5th gear!
Beautiful Truck Sir. Man I love old truck's. If I had to choose between a new Hellcat and an old F150 with a 5.0 4x4 standard shift dual exhaust. I would choose the F150 everytime. Great work my friend. Plus you was able to keep it G Rated. Lol.. I'm an Army Veteran. I dont do G Rating lol.. I'm looking at a 1990 F150 4x4 automatic transmission. Man says truck will start and run. But soon as you put it in gear and push the gas it stalls. What do you think could be the issue? I love truck. But dont have deep pockets. Thank you for the cool video my friend. Drive safe.
bro nice looking truck look you did all that work to it do not push the gas pedal it is fuel injection you do not have to hit the gas pedal just let just let it run quit pushing the gas pedal bro I'm watching you
what i cant figure out is why did u start testin the spark... when you sprayed the ether or whatever it was in the intake... it started up LOL that should tell you that it had spark lol
I felt I should make sure all 8 cylinders were getting spark with no issue before ripping everything off and going after the injectors. I’m also not a mechanic and make silly mistakes/inefficiencies lol
Gordon Montgomery these trucks don't stay for sale long were i live if you got one running and driving especially both the tanks in working order and it's strong enough to pull it won't be for sale long and yours being a 4 wheel drive would make it really hot i own a 1992 Ford F150 extended cab long wheel base 2 wheel drive that's blowing oil in to the air filter and a delay when i shift in to drive so it's not able to really pull what i need right now but the big problem i find with the F150s with dual tanks is the gauge reading on both tanks
Dude - if you have two tanks on that Ford your valve that changes between tanks is bad.. I just had to change one on a 1995 Ford- if it runs on the starting fluid ur not getting fuel - ur plugs are probably dry - another way to check is to simply pull ur fuel line at the engine and turn on the key and see what comes out...
Switch seemed to work fine. It was always an injector issue which is weird because I had it running a few months before…didn’t think they’d clog up completely that quickly. And I did check for fuel. I didn’t read pressure til later in but I saw fuel coming to the fuel rail.
I think I would have poured some injection cleaner in the tank, and ran it off a can of brake kleen for a while. Instead of tearing into the injectors. But your way works too. Good video.
I just brought a 92 Bronco back to life about the same time a couple months ago almost had to fire the parts cannon at it let's see water pump thermostat neck tensioner pulley alternator transmission lines ignition module fuel pump gas tank temperature sending unit speed sensor both rubber brake hoses front axle caliper wheel cylinder four tires windshield⛽️🇺🇸 oh yeah I forgot radiator all the hoses and a pair of headlights don't know if it's worth what I spent LOL oh now that I'm thinking more on it brake pads brake shoes radiator core support oxygen sensor used y-pipe and a muffler it still needs a windshield wiper motor and all the hardware to make the rear window go up and down I guess I did need a parts Cannon🤠🤔 I forgot the master cylinder
22:40 When these old ford trucks run out of gas or you replace the fuel pump you have to turn the key of and on about 5 times to prime the fuel system. I ran out of gas once on the freeway in my 94 f-150 and i went to start it and it wouldn't. i looked up what to do online and did what I said above and it fired right up. IDK why they are like that but they are. I guess they have to have a bunch of fuel pressure to start.
hey bro just let you know if you want to sell that little red truck let me know I'd like to take the motor out and put a straight 6 in it so I can have me a little 6 cylinder truck let me know thanks bro
