    lowering your pressure will help plus using flow improvers. also the correct sequence of trigger control . the trigger control is air then paint for on ,paint then air for off, switching air of last blows the build up of paint of the needle, you may still get tip dry but not as often.

    Nice with some good ideas how to get more spray time. But also remember how to avoid tip dry, always spray air. Many users have bad trigger technique, the blast like it is rattle can or a single action airbrush. With a double action AB you always need to spray air. Air-paint-air. This is for water based acrylic. 90 percent less tip dry with right technique 👍

    Awesome tip-dry tip, Kenny :-) I actually went out and bought two toothbrushes today after watching your Ford video yesterday. Straight-necked toothbrushes, alas :-( I'll have to haul out the old butane soldering iron to make those bristles meet up so neatly.

      the crook neck ones i had to heat up a bit two. I was thinking after the fact may not have to heat them up that much. could glue a piece of styrene in between the handles then tape them up.

    Nice tip, Kenny. Since fine airbrush needles can be very delicate, would it be correct to say that soft bristles would be better than stiff ones?

    • @HobbyLinkInternational
      @HobbyLinkInternational  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Soft would work fine. I use medium ones and haven't had a problem with them. I probably wouldn't use stiff bristle toothbrushes.

    why not just use a toothbrush and clean it, dont see the point of taping two together ? what am i missing ?

    • @HobbyLinkInternational
      @HobbyLinkInternational  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I got this tip from a few pro airbrush painters. It is supposed to be safer this way. One toothbrush if you push too hard going forward you may end up hitting the hard plastic and bending the tip of the needle. With two toothbrushes together you can push in to get the needle and the cap clean and if you go too far you just go through the toothbrushes with no worries of bending the needle.

    Hey thank you for the genius idea I suffer with tip dry especially with cretex opaque white !! It’s horrible even reduced to 70-30 mix it still tip drys ! That’s AWSOME I was just using a q tip with Iwata cleaner on the end but this is amazing ! And your a hockey dad like me ! My son plays junior seed hockey for the Johnstown tomahawks! And I played for years is there nothing hockey tape can’t do ?? But thank you for the idea and passing it on! Us old fart hockey dads gotta stick together through all the early morning travel games half way across the USA and sleeping in Sketchy hotels in towns where the opposing coaches and the hometown refs are all drinking buddies and hate your team! @@HobbyLinkInternational brother let me tell you it’s all about money ! And contracts ! He played a season in Russia for St. Petersburg and he stayed with a billet family and he came home and said those people literally put their lives into their kid playing hockey if not they are farmers and dirt poor ! So he came home and every team wants you to sign a contract to bind him so another team can’t steal him ! But he wants to go to the university of Minnesota gophers the coach invited us up to the school and he stayed with the team for the weekend so fingers crossed they will offer him a slot ! But I miss it when he’s on the road and me or the wife can’t go ! But I have been having a massive problem of bubbles in my cup ! It’s literally a brand new Iwata eclipse I changed nozzles and still got bubbles I used bees wax on the nozzle threads and still got bubbles I was ready to throw away my Iwata eclipse and my Iwata micron but I looked and the very top of my needle was bent like a half a mm so I changed the needle and now it’s running great ! Lmao ! Thank you for responding !!

    Lots of different ways to address tip dry. Not a negative towards what you have presented here, but I use a stencil brush, that I dip in cleaner and just pass the needle through it. Basically, any soft, full body, paint brush will do the same thing. Just another approach.
