In pirate101 there’s an option called fast combat which speeds up all combat animations. Implementing this in wiz would effectively speed up all battles because currently you spend more than half the time of a battle doing nothing but watching animations. Admittedly, the fast combat option in pirate101 is actually normal speed and the battles are in slow motion when you turn the option off lol, so it’s not really much faster
I last played Wiz when I was like 12, over a decade ago and recently got back into it with my ancient account, never made it past level 36 on Myth school, but having fun currently as a level 23 death wizard and I'm going to try and beat the first arch as death, then switch to balance as my main and finish the entire game with that! So amazing!
although this may be great to preserve school identity, it completely destroys raids. KI did not think this through and it's going to make all raids especially CS muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch harder.
I thought this was about the actual worst problem the game has right now, which is the archmastery rate affecting teammates. If someone has a high archmastery, then only that person will get a class pip on the first round, and anyone else would be forced to wait to use their aoes. Not too bad if you're something like fire or storm, but death and life don't have any aoes that do not use a class pip. And if a high level comes along and joins your battle while you're questing through Mooshu or whatever, then good luck getting ANY class pips at all.
or.... hear me out.... this might sound crazy.... but.... revert back to school identity. let schools be known for what they are best at. Storm was damage, myth was stuns, fire was over times, ice was defence, balance was utility, life was healing death was drains. They have removed identity and now pvp is just chaos or whoever can hit hardest wins... they created a complicated system for something that used to be fun and while not perfect was way more balanced than the current meta is
I've always had storm as my second from beginning on my Myth. When they came out with dual school I honestly debated buying back points and running the dual school. Glad I didn't because they didn't really continue. With Walaru they did an entirely different school pip so not gonna reset my pips for that. I don't really use it anyway
As an oblivious PvEr, I resent this change. They are yet again not separating PvE and PvP. Raids for example, have now been made much more difficult and much less consistent.
I REALLY wish they would balance PvP and PvE separately because this is just unnecessary coming from someone who purely quests. I don’t know. Would love to see your take on it when the patch goes through.

‘School Identity’ has almost never truly existed, and is nonexistent beyond artificial damage caps, HP count, and card DPP. The only ‘difference’ in how the classes function in this game in the current moment is the rate at which they can pump out damage- that’s it. If someone wants to dip into storm, they should take a hit on their max HP, accuracy, and an improvement on their crit. Each school should have their own stat caps for EVERY stat, every school should have a specific base stat, and training spells should modify these stats accordingly. Something as complex as class identity and class hybrids aren’t as simple as damage nerfing.
