I think this is the single dumbest thing they’ve added/changed given how many players/how much of the game it effects, which makes me think that they’re that much less likely to change it as deranged of a claim as that might sound
This change single handedly has made me not spend money on crowns/membership. I cannot express how negatively this change impacts my experience playing this game
But why fix it, when now they can depend on you buying regents from the crown shop. I really wanna craft with brass on a level 30 for a pet jewel and I have no other wizards on that account so I can't just move it from one of my higher ups. Brass is a regent that has no way to craft it from other regents, and it's also not even in the crown shop. You can get it from feeding stuff to your pet from your backpack, but I've gone multiple times now from a full backpack, feeding it all to my pet since lvl 1 to now 30 and I only have one brass
yes plsss, i just returned and for the first time ever im struggling to figure out what to spend my gold on after hitting max gold, like i loved buying up any reagents i saw lmao and i feel beyond wasteful just sitting at max gold
I one day hope they will bring back 2v2s 3v3s and 4v4s. It would need some serious balancing like for example each wizard can only cast 1 aoe or something like that.
am surprised no one is talking about the leveling experience from new player pov . like i can't imagine anyone new being excited to go through 15-16 zones with over 170 levels (more inthe future) its mind numbingly boring and repetitive . and no those pay to skip mechanics ( potions and world elixirs) aren't a fix but just another way to grab even more money as if the game isn' t already pay to play . i wouldn't mind it if the game was free to play but having membership requirements, gacha system imbedded in almost everything in the game and even more money grabbing to skip what feels like an eternity of boring leveling process spamming 1 spell past a certain point is just soo off putting. older players will not feel it but the game will not benefit from it being this way . One fix for this would be to do a level+stats squish , change the narative to where you could relive one arc where most of the leveling process will take place and having the latest world primarely focused on new game mechanics and systems and loot . it will make development much easier for every upcoming world with them having to focus just on the story and new mechanics and not all the other aspects of xp gains , and so on
I totally agree with your point about the game being way too long for Its own good. I also think that the pay to skip levelling is a terrible approach as It only adds more greed to a game where every system is already a money grab.
And the fact of how much stuff you need to do on the side if you want decent stats. If u wanna craft some gear, some of it you need to also take up gardening and fishing and If you don't find that out until later, it's a LOT of catching up ro do
as a chronic replayer i can agree to the grind being brutal especially given most people use like 6 spells in a cycle for story pushing ( imo ) and i cant imagine doing it the first time through where i am actually possibly dying or getting confused on puzzles or even listening to the storyline?? that would make it easily 5-6 months worth of playing just to hit max - edit: AND the farming for gear / getting a pet leveled.. oof
I think one thing that KI can do is make changes to the quest line in arc 2. They have been really good about making newer worlds shorter and much more enjoyable to quest through than all the filler quests in arc 2. Arc 2 is such a drag to get through especially Azteca and khrysalis both worlds have around 200 quests meanwhile newer worlds have fewer with more challenging fights which I think is a better balance. Like seriously how many quests in zafaria have you fighting grey horn mercenaries? 😂. Since the console release will bring in a lot of new players fixing how long arc 2 goes on would do great things with player retention. Oh and obviously making arc 1 free to play so people can have enough time to learn the game and get invested in their character
Should you play wizard101, yes you should, however, I think there needs to be a severe rework of arc 2 worlds. I think polishing those worlds up would be phenomenal. Another issue I have is the bazaar, they completely flubbed it up in my opinion and while I understand why they made those changes, it hasn’t made the game better to the players who do not use bots.
Imo the potential of the spell weaving update is one of the best i've ever seen in this game. But they really need to add more useful spells. The only really useful thing are the extra blades/traps for pve. In pvp 99% of the players are only using the new dual school pierce jewels and that's it. Too much wasted potential at the moment.
when KI gave multiple opponents early in the game (colossus blvd) aoe became a must. no one is defeating a single enemy at a time while getting pummeled. If they wanted to make it interesting they could make different aoe spells, such as a 3 pip & 6 pip aoe doing the appropriate damage for the pip cost. That would help in deck building,, especially for the pesky mobs that seem to hang on with like 2 health left. That would help a lot early in the game & wouldn't be game breaking because you don't get the sun school until celestia.
But why fix the bazzar, when now they can depend on you buying regents from the crown shop. You're doing a fantastic job! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I think a problem with pvp is that it is too unfair going in. I would like a casual mode where you could earn pvp rewards, and have access to standardized armor, cards, and levels. Have an unranked casual mode exist similar to beastmoon where people can play on an even playing field. Let a level 20 ice have the same access to gear, spells, and pets as a level 170 ice without needing to put months of work. If they lose the mirror it should be due to bad luck or lower skill, not because of stats, money, or time put in. PvP updates will always be for the 5% if only 5% of the community can go into a fair match.
I still can't even think of a good reason why wizard city is still pay to play, the first world in 2025 aint even free, i was thinking about playing again last time i did play was when level 130 was the max but i might for pvp
-Short Answer no. Long time player here. A lot of good stuff happened to the game, but Idk why KI has the Tendency of making good content and then getting something out of it. KI doesn’t wanna make the game friendly, they dont wanna make Arc 1 free WC-DS, yes the mem is $10 bucks but there’s better games that are free then playing a 15 year old game that squeezes money out of you. They dont wanna make easier to the players as well, they tend monetize a lot stuff. Pvp is not good, its like they still think they have 500k active players. The only reason why this game still active its because its unique and Nostalgia players.
KI ALLOW ITEM TRANSFER IN A FAMILY PLAN BETWEEN THE ACCOUNTS IN THAT PLAN. Tired of opening packs just to get a full gear set for my fire on my storm account
i'd say reaver boots are the next best bet but the lack of shadow pips is annoying for sure. if you can find a way to make up the damage loss stalker boots are also a really solid option and DO give shads
@jacoblittlequigs i think three is SUPER solid for death but im assuming you're running library robe which is really good. what do your stats look like with stalker boots and reaver ring and reaver athame?
@@AwesomeTheSauce with reaver boots I have 182 dmg 56 Pierce 70 resit with a shield pin and obviously 2 piece shad. With the reaver boots I also get up to 180 storm damage and 54 storm Pierce. With stalker boots Ill lose one power pin and gain another shield while gaining 4 resist and the shadow rating I lose 8 damage and 1 Pierce. I'm also running the stalker hat which means my crit will be awfully low. Overall: Reaver: 182 dmg 70 resist 54 Pierce 2 piece shad 1 piece without crit Stalker: 174 dmg 74 resist 53 Pierce 3 piece shad 2 pieces without crit
The main problem with that game is that it absolutely does not respect the player's time. There are hundreds and hundreds of hours of pointless grinding for things that should be free or have a much higher drop rate. Spell animations still take forever, you move so slowly and clunky. Every other quest is defeat a bunch of random mobs, every boss requires a wiki page just to even know what the cheats are because for some reason the game still doesn't tell the player what the boss does in game. Its design is extremely archaic with tons of useless content and time wasters. If you have not been played for years the learning curve to get into the game is enormous for so very little gain. Great games that are free to play and actually reward you for investment through free cosmetics are coming out left and right. The U.I and inventory is extremely outdated and ugly to look at, updates take forever, 99% of the pve content is mindless aoe spam which only slightly differs hundreds of hours into the game. If you are a brand-new player that wants to start wiz, don't. It is a massive waste of time for a very old game. It's a comfort that a lot of people a still play, but that does not make it good. Tons of mmos have veterans that spent thousands of hours and dollars into one game for years of their life. Seriously use the 10 bucks you would've spent on membership for something like Terraria, Hollow Knight, Hades, portal 2, Undertale, your hard-earned money and precious time is better spent elsewhere.
@AwesomeTheSauce no clue but I've heard people say arc one raid dragonspyre, arc 2 Azteca arc 3 Polaris and arc 4 raid could be karamelle. It's my favorite world and my current wiz main stitch so more stuff from karamelle had me excited
I refuse to pay no more and canceled my membership a month ago. Bugs every 2 days, events that cause the game to crash, bazaar and the whole economy as a whole is ruined, its honestly got worse over that 1 year deapite dualschooling and silenopolis coming out. Just no, wizars101 no more, especially for money xD
No. Not with the current state of the Bazaar, absolutely not. The Bazaar is crucial for many things in this game and they gutted it. I refuse to spend the money required to play this game until it sees improvements geared towards the players
Personally, I would say no. The game is more pay to play and pay to win than ever. Now, as a new player you'd need to go through at least 3-4 months of membership just for the sake of reaching the lvl cap. Every system is designed to make you spend money, for example: spellements, pet training, PvP. I can't recommend the game until It takes actual steps to be new player friendly and KI actually decides how they want to monetize the game. A membership system is fine, but designing systems to grab more money is not an alternative then. Or make the game free to play and maintain the same style of content, which is already made to get money.
Whats your wishlist for wizard101 in 2025?
I kinda wish some people in the community would stop acting as if the game is completely terrible.
Wish for it to come to console this year already
love to see a side world, maybe Albion. Maybe around level 47 and about the size of Wysteria.
The only thing I want for Wizard101 is to fix the pet system like seriously
I would like a one-year membership and a bundle that I can afford also membership for the opposite and a maxed out bundle.
