How do you even think to make a Bloons TD 6 challenge this difficult!
Using VERY Limited Money we will try to beat a MOAB in BTD6

here’s the reason why mortar is good:
Set target to a crater in the moon map and spam the mortars, specifically the artillery battery ones
Ive found the best map for mortars is Cubism, as it crosses paths for much longer total then just one of the craters (unless you want to manually move all the mortar spam). I got to round 120 with just mortars on cubism easy, no powers. Could probably go more if i cared to farm optimally.
@@katze256 That's because cubism is the best map in general. The moon map is great specifically with mortar.
I really like your attitude about not being the best, it is very refreshing and encouraging to hear someone just go. I will never be the best, but that is okay. We really need more people like that in the world

Mortars can remove fortifications from MOAB class bloons. They can also claim a screen wipe and set things on fire. Plus, it can work as a good crowd control monkey.

The first challenge was once an advanced challenge. You needed to use 100 sniper and micro to pop cerams and Pink bloons and Then pop remaining red bloons
or sell the tack and build it at the end to kill off the last bloons

@@zonefreakman it literally buffs top path lol all middle path does is let it hit more bloons and have more range which if youre going for inferno ring you don't need since inferno ring already gets a lot more range

Last time everyone go 420 or 520 tack until mk buff the btm crosspath for more dmg.
Just look at ISAB almost doing Bazaar chimps (minus the BAD) with a 5-0-2 biggest one before they added the stun to biggest one.
Defortify is also great late game and an artillery battery is viable if you are using Striker Jones. In these cases, you wouldn't even need to micromanage them.
Mortars, in general, are good for a few things. One big one is adding in more AOE/pierce in a curvy area where another strong tower can't fit. Another is abusing their remote targeting alongside village buffs. The last one is using their ability to change targets for maps with alternating lanes or just to move your main pierce later down the route.
Standout strengths of the towers upgrades are as such. The value that the fire damage can provide when you focus your other towers on fragmenting stronger bloons is immense. And unlike glue corrosion the DOT can be applied before or after baloons fragment into weaker and more numerous targets. Top path is also excellent against regular bloons, especially since the stun synergizes with other stuns, slows, and freeze, which in turn synergizes with the mortar itself. The middle path can be great for tight curves, but I don't use it much.
IDK if these are obvious, as I'm not that into BTD6, but Mortar is one of my favorite towers.

Mortars down path costs much but its really good in late game as it removes any fortification from moabs

Mortars are good because zomgs and lower can remove fortified buff which is half of a fortified bads hp.

bottom path mortar is the only saving grace for me, racks up insane amounts of damage at the start of the map

I’m sorry dabloon, but I keep getting triggered when you say stuff is really bad, they do 2 damage bcuz they are TIER TWOS. Also, sorry, but what do you expect an alc with large potions to do. Maybe look at what the upgrade does before criticizing a tower. Every tower is unique and serves and purpose. There might be towers that have certain strengths or weaknesses, but there isn’t a tower that is actually bad, you just might not being using it at that moment or you might like another tower more or another tower might be better at doing a certain thing or be better in a certain criteria.

5xx mortar is terrible when towers like Bloon Solver exist, that you don't even need to target and do a better job.
x5x mortar is terrible because it's DPS is in the gutter
xx5 mortar is terrible because even though it is the only tower that strips fortification, the price is way way way way too high to ever justify the RBE reduction it can do. Plus the DPS of the fire walls is mediocre for the price range as well.
To add to all that, you have to micro it intensely for very little benefit, which might make it the worst tower in the game barring only the monkey ace(which has improved it's ranks in my books cuz of the paragon recently)
Now as someone who likes the alchemist, even I can admit
The x5x alch is awful because it's a tower that is useless when on cooldown (looking at you PMFC)
The xx5 alch is awful cuz it literally loses you money and is pointless for the price cost, since by the time you can afford it, your main concern is BADs and fast moving DDTs anyways (which it misses since they are fast and it has a long cooldown)
@@Amodh1257 while I do agree with you on everything. I do believe that the 500 mortar is worth it. While the 050 is literally trash,and the only good bottom path is 004 the 500 did pretty good actually when I tested it. First off the 402 mortar literally one shotted rounds like 63 and 76,78 even though it basically costs 3 times less than bloonsolver. And even though it's damage falls off a bit when super ceramics come. That's when you are able to buy the 502 which literally destroys them and through some testing it has been able to solo(with village,only radar) rounds from 90-98 with zero to minimal micro. 500 Is definitely not Terrible especially when you consider everything said and how it's 4th tier which leads to tier 5 is also incredible.

even in high rounds, especially there at like round 300 or so, mortar bottom path strips the armor of everything up to zomgs i believe. even if it sucks damage wise

Good point, but Blooncineration doesn't suck damage wise. Turn on to 1x speed and just micro on grouped ZOMGs, which does burn dmg, initial dmg, and the wall of fire thingy which does crazy dmg. In certain situations, it could even outclass Ray of Doom in damage.

first nice
about mortars, they are a very specific in their use case
the only place where they are really good is when there is a small area where a baloon walks over multiple time while having a fair amount of space to set them up (examples are as following:)
the middle of four circles, near the end of town center, the middle of underground, the loops of in the loop, the edges of winter park, in a lot of place on logs, everywhere that's not the end of firing range, the first and smallest square of resort, some parts of cubism, the circles of candy falls, the creators in moon landing, and while not tested, a crap ton of places in balance, that one spot in monkey medows where balloons need to cross multiple times (you can start to envision these type of spots yourself now)
it's perpose is to increase the pressure in those tiny spots even more then normally possible unrestricted by range. is it perfect? no it's rather not
i would make some changes, like making it so that it universally attacks camo balloons (the thing is just dropping bombs in a set place why does it need to see camo for the bomb to do damage?)
i would also combine signal flare and burny stuff (if ninja's counter espionage cost 500 and is T2 i don't see a reason for signal flare to be a T3 when it's the exact same thing on an explosion, losing camo is not that useful it needs it's own upgrade tier) as for what to place in 0-0-3 mortar? idk something else.
lastly i would reduce it's main cost to 600 (from the 750 it has now) this means with advanced logistics it will be 570$, with military conscription it's 400$ and with both it will be 380$ on MEDIUM
there might be more we can do but there are my suggestions

The moab isnt fortified and the burny stuff does nothing and theres only 222 crosspath
