Did my birth naturally squatting and I have no regrets! It was a beautiful low pain quick birth with no tearing! Most important thing is to listen to your body, it knows how to have your baby
UGH. I thought we’d had names picked for the last 5 years. We get pregnant and my husband’s like “oh, actually I don’t really like that” and I just don’t even know what to call her now.
Haha YES! Just starting TTC with my husband and I've literally binge watched so much labor videos and prep and have thought how cool and empowering it would be to have a natural birth and see what my body is capable of. No wrong way to bring a child into the world but a big preference of mine ❤️
36 weeks. I’ve been slammed in an online forum for hoping for a natural birth, but vids like this make me feel so much more confident. I’m not opposed to an epidural if I need one, but I love the idea of my body knowing what to do. I’m actually kind of getting excited about labor. 💕
@@sarvolkskaya aww thank you!! Our baby boy arrived safe and sound after a 40 HOUR LABOR!! Yikes! I did go for the epidural around Hour 25, but I was so proud of myself for handling labor well.
@@kaylarose1081 aw yay congratulations!!!! 40 hours is insane! no shame in getting the epi - i truly don’t think i would have survived without it myself lol. you’re a badass and i’m so happy for you 💙
37 weeks still deciding if I want to go the natural route. Deep down I know I do. I found your videos a few months ago and you are definitely my favorite. Thank you for helping us all.
I’m a week away from having my baby, I have watched all of your videos and I can’t thank you enough for all of your info! You have the best attitude and positivity!
I know this is an old video but I’ve been watching your playlists about birth and newborns etc and I’ve been loving it! I love your energy so much! You are SO relatable to me!! I am 35 weeks currently with my first baby!!
I just found this channel & I LOVE it... I can't stop watching videos! I am 43 & surprise pregnant with my 2nd child- 8wks along. My 1st son is 17yo- it has been so long since I have mothered a baby, that I feel like it's the 1st time, all over again! So I have been loving all of the very informative pregnancy & childbirth videos! 😍
Birth prep and postpartum workouts are so important! I've used the "good for the swole" app because I need a follow along workout, and I recommend all pregnant mamas find an online program or meet with a pelvic floor PT. Having done my first 2 births without any birth prep I can confirm that it's a night and day different experience, don't skip this!
I swear you should be a stand-up comic. Your delivery is everything…🤩 Your baby is beautiful! Oh my goodness! I’m obsessed with your videos right now. I wish I could remember which vlogger mentioned you. Thank you! I had my 2.5 yo son at a birth center in the tub (well, he wasn’t 2.5 then heehee). I inhaled books prior, including one of my heroes’, Ina May’s (her breastfeeding guide is essential too) as well as Childbirth Without Fear and The Bradley Method. Did hypnobirthing. And because it was my first, my midwife recommended the Epi-No, which I did religiously and pretty hilariously (let’s just say hubby was a wee bit jealous;). Drank raspberry leaf tea and ate dates too! I’m a long-time yogi and was practicing up until the couple hours before my contractions began. Labored at home with hubby, doula and dog for 8 hours. Then another 5 at birth center (car ride was worst part during which I definitely regressed). Had my chiro there too which I wish upon every laboring woman. Had a beautiful, other-worldly birth. I pushed for less than 15 minutes. No tears 🙏🏼 Now prepping for Baby 2’s home birth. Love watching these. Thanks again!
@@heyshayla 🙏🏼🥰 I totally forgot to mention that I also did Spinning Babies which is absolutely brilliant! Did you?? Ahahahaha I'm like that. Reaching 40 weeks and because my high blood pressure at the appointments they want to induce at my next appointment. I'm trying lots of things to avoid the artificial induction.
You can just rub it in like lotion! 😊 In my birthing class from my birthing center the instructor said it is literally the worlds best lotion! Haha you can deny their first bath if you’re birthing at the hospital too!♥️
I had a natural vbac with my last daughter. My waters broke at 35 weeks but I wasn’t contracting so I had to have Pitocin and holy crap!!! Those contractions hit fast and hard!! But I made it through and had my sweet angel in roughly 2 hours!! 😳😂

Other than certain medical conditions where a labor epidural is preferable (like pre-eclampsia), the choice of getting an epidural is always the woman in labor!
I agree with you!!!! I think when you use an epidural if your exhausted or labor isn’t progressing it can help speed things up. You’re right. I wish I’d said that!!
Living On A One Way Thanks for the reply and validating my comment. I do enjoy your channel. Congrats on your little one!
Of course!! Thank you :)
Did you space out your probiotic and prenatal pills? I have to take my prenatal at night (otherwise I'm rolling sick) so I could probably take my probiotic in the morning with food, right?
I think it would be beneficial however you take it . But the best time to take the probiotic it is before you eat :)
Dang you are looking good 👍🏽
Just out of curiosity did you guys do “skin to skin”?... I’m assuming no bc you didn’t mention
One thousand percent YES!!! That was in the "golden hour" thats all we did for that time was just skin to skin! It helps to regulate their temperature!
@@heyshayla also gives baby your microbiome
Yas I love this
Watching this as I eat my dates 😆 (34.5 weeks with #2 but I’m showing signs of preeclampsia so they’re talking induction at 37 weeks so doing all the things now lol)
Yay!!! Congrats on baby #2! You’ll be great!
Ahahahaha I'm like that. Reaching 40 weeks and because my high blood pressure at the appointments they want to induce at my next appointment. I'm trying lots of things to avoid the artificial induction.
How about intermittend fasting?
Does anyone know how long to delay babys first bath after choosing to have it delayed? How long did you let the baby stay covered in the vernix? (sp?)
That’s so awesome! I’m 9 weeks and hoping for a VBAC.
Anna Noronha she was my second vbac. 🥰 you definitely have to advocate for yourself in most circumstances. Educate yourself on the TRUTH not what doctors scare people with. In my opinion through research it is safer most the time to vbac than be cut open multiple times.
Oh wow!! Thats AMAAAAAZING!! Good job on the VBAC!!
I'm due on Christmas day. Oof I also want that all natural hippiebirthing experience!
Its pretty amazing.. this is the one I used: www.hypnobabies-store.com/?ref-hyp=shaylachristine

Love the headspace guys voice too!!!
Also, yes I always thought dates looked like cockroaches!
Hahah right?!
Based on the title, are you a certified consultant?
Nope! Just used it and loved it
What have you decided to do about vaccinations? Absolutely no judgement either way, just curious 💗
Totally I read: the vaccine friendly plan so that’s what we’re doing! amzn.to/37tlde7 I have lots of essential workers in my family so the delayed schedule feels safest: www.integrativepediatricsonline.com/uploads/1/0/9/2/109222957/the_vaccine-friendly_plan.pdf
I love your videos 😂
her midwife not making it bc of a flat tire sounds like something from a movie
Friendly reminder that all births are natural... the difference is medicated or un-medicated.
100% right! Thank you! I Titled it this way because I assumed more people would search natural birth than unmediated. All the love to all the mamas bringing babies into the world❤️
Ok now you have to watch Forest Gump 😅
Hahaha
